Happy Halloweekend.
We've been talking a little bit about what your plans might be.
A number of you have chimed in.
You've also given me some good scary movie suggestions.
We'll go through more of your comments coming up in just a little bit,
but keep those things coming.
You can also vote in our poll where we have been asking you
what your favorite way to spend the Halloween weekend is.
You can find that right now by going to fox35orlando.com slash connect
Connect or by just scanning that QR code that you see on your screen.
screen right now. And if you don't have any ideas
of what you might want to get into this
this weekend, then you are in the right spot
because it is time for our community crossroads
where we take you through some of the things going
on around town this weekend. And Ashley
and Sarah, our friends from Unation,
joining us live now via Zoom and no shortage of things
for folks to to explore around the region this weekend.
There is so much happening this Halloween weekend,
though I am intrigued about these
scary movie suggestions. Garrett,
I got to know what's on your watch list.
Well, I say we only watch one a year, essentially.
And so I have been trying to get suggestions of
which one we might want to watch this weekend.
So do you have any suggestions for me?
Trick or Treat's my personal favorite.
It's just a bunch of fun, spooky stories all
entangled into one. That's one of mine.
But again, there are so many great events happening
this weekend, so maybe a movie night can be kind
of put in in the middle of all these events you're
going to. That's right.
Now talk to us about what all we've got going on.
We can start with the Starlight Circus
Halloween Market, like it's better than
horror and circus. This is actually on Halloween.
It's like the first weekend
that we've had Halloween actually on a Saturday,
so there's going to be a lot going on.
This starts from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.,
so if you don't have Halloween plans or if you're
looking to do something different with the kids,
you can bring them here to this market
where they can actually trick-or-treat.
We just suggest that you bring a bag for them as you shop
and trick-or-treat, but not only
do they have trick-or-treating,
they have those local vendors that you can't find anywhere
else.
They'll have vintage finds, handmade goods,
they'll have arts, oddities, and unique treasures,
as well as photo ops.
Obviously, costumes are encouraged.
It is Halloween, so this is a full Halloween celebration.
with a live DJ and circus-themed photo op.
This is, again, at the Milk House,
and it's happening on Halloween.
Ashley, talk with us about Fall Dog Day
that's going on at Lou Gardens.
You got my attention.
Not into the whole Halloween evening spooky vibes.
I can understand.
I can relate.
So maybe you want to celebrate the holiday
in the daytime at the Fall Dog Day happening
at Lou Gardens this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
So Lou Gardens, again, that's near the Mills-ish area,
Audubon Park, a little bit closer to
downtown.
And you can bring your four-legged besties.
Bring them in costume because, yes,
there's going to be three different costume contests
happening at 10 a.m., 10.30, and 11 a.m. for your puppuccinos.
And the admission is going to be $15 for adults,
$10 for children, and $5 for your furry friend.
Children under four, any active duty military
or garden members also get in for free to this event.
And you get to explore 50 acres
of the beautiful gardens with your leashed pups.
So please keep your pups on leashes.
They're also going to have a doggy boutique,
which is going to have a ton of local vendors popping up with apparel,
treats, and toys for your pup from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
So right in that sweet spot of all of the.
the costume parties as well happening and they're
also going to have special doggy goodie bags while
supplies last that have little surprises including a garden bandana
so you can also dress up your pup
if you don't have any costumes.
So it's going to be such a fun way to get outside. The weather is
beautiful so go out and celebrate Halloween during the daytime.
Sarah a couple dozen
establishments that folks can check out as part
of this thriller Halloween bar crawl at the point.
Yes, so not to be confused with the heroes versus villains bar crawl
at the point, which is a little bit smaller.
They have a bigger one with over 23 venues going all up
and down International Drive.
I suggest getting your tickets tonight before
the tickets cost more in person.
This will sell out pretty fast, but this, again,
is happening tomorrow night at the Point Orlando.
You'll start at the Blue Martini from 6
to 8 p.m. where they'll have a kickoff party,
and then from 8 to midnight, they'll have the actual bar crawl.
So included with your party ticket is four complimentary premium drinks
at the participating venues that will be having those drinks.
They'll have free cover at all of them,
and they're going to be having kind of a couples versus singles.
themed thing where they'll have
a traffic light wristband where you can go.
So if you're single looking to mingle,
they're going to have red for taken, yellow for it's
complicated, and green for single and ready to mingle.
Again, they'll also have free digital photo booth pictures.
They'll have the singles mix and mingle.
They'll have costume contests.
I saw that they're giving away a prize of $5,000.
They'll also be having raffles
and included in the ticket, you'll get a...
...minute main event game card,
which main event is located at the Point Orlando.
This is an arcade, so you can go and play some games, have a drink.
They'll also have food and drink specials at these places.
Thank you.
Parking is free if you show them that ticket,
which is pretty rare because they usually charge
$10 to park at the parking garage. So it's even better.
But we do recommend if you are drinking,
this is a crazy bar crawl. It's 23 venues.
Please plan ahead. Have a friend drive you. Have a DD.
Do a Lyft, an Uber, a Waymo.
There's so many options now in Orlando to get home safely.
We highly encourage that you do that.
Of course, come dressed in the costumes.
Come dress as Michael Jackson, if you want, for the theme of Thriller.
It's going to be so, so much fun.
So many things going on, and we are already out of time.
And so we didn't even get to all the things on our list here,
let alone all the things that are going on this weekend.
So, Ashley, where can people learn more and find out more of the events
and other things to do in Orlando?
Don't you worry. We have these events
and a ton more that you can learn about when you download
the free UNation app. And if you want to follow us more
in real time with some updates, you can
follow us on social media at Stuff To Do in Orlando.
All right. We always appreciate you and
enjoy talking about some of the things that we've got
to check out here around town. Our list gets
longer every time when it comes to just
so many different places I need to check out. So Ashley
and Sarah, thanks so much for taking the time. Thank you, Garrett.
