Bills just got GOOD and BAD news...
Oct 30, 2026
The Bills just got some good
and bad news on the injury front as they prepare for their
upcoming matchup versus the Baltimore Ravens.
This is a huge matchup, and the Bills are going
to need all the help that they can get.
And coming off a bye week, you would think that
this Bills team is pretty healthy.
Well, that might be the case for some players. It is not.
For others. So let's talk about who is on track to play
and who isn't on track to play this upcoming Sunday.
So welcome everybody to Bills Digest.
I'm Ben Volker and here at Bills Digest,

And we got a lot to talk about.
We've been talking about trade rumors the last few days.
But let's talk about the current state of this Bills roster.
Looking forward to Sunday's matchup against the Bills.
Like I said, we've got good news.
We've got bad news.
So let's start.
Rip the band-aid off.
Talk about the bad news.
Talk about the headline here.
That being that Spencer Brown.
Has missed his second straight practice
as he continues to deal with a back injury.
So here's the latest on what we know about Spencer Brown.
There was no sign of him out there today at Bills practice.
The second straight day of that, he's dealing with a back issue.
Back issue.
And he told reporters that he is at the point in his career where
he thinks he can play on Sunday, even if he doesn't practice.
If he doesn't go, we are looking
at Tylan Grable getting the start at right tackle in
place of Spencer Brown.
And now, if you don't remember
the entire Spencer Brown timeline that we are looking
at here, he got injured in that Rams game
a few weeks ago towards kind of the halftime.
And Tylan Grable came in for Spencer Brown.
He looked pretty decent, racked up a penalty or two.
But then...
Spencer Brown was a full participant
at practice leading up to that Raiders game all week.
He played in the Raiders game,
but we found out yesterday that it was not easy for him
that past week.
He said that he took enough drugs to sedate a small elephant.
That's how banged up he truly was going
into that Raiders game a few weeks ago.
And now, like I said.
Spencer Brown, I would lean on the side of optimism here
because if he was able to play in that Raiders game,
even with all those drugs that sedated the small elephant
or whatever it may be with this lingering back issue,
if he was able to play in that game,
you got to think with the bye week rest.
And even though he has racked up two straight DNPs,
like he said himself, he's at that point in his career
where he can go on Sunday, even without.
The practice throughout the week.
So I am cautiously optimistic on Spencer Brown playing this week.
But like I said, Tylan Grable,
I think he would be okay and fine in Spencer Brown's place.
But here's what we're keeping an eye on on Spencer Brown.
Looking forward to Sunday, like I said,
he missed Wednesday and Thursday's practice with a back injury.
But he did play every single snap of that Raiders game,
which is where the optimism comes from.
We do need to keep an eye on his physical readiness
as we look forward to Sunday.
So that is where we are at with Spencer Brown right now.
And we will get to the rest
of this Bill's injury report in just a second.
But first, I got to let you guys know today's video
is sponsored by Kalshi.
And on Kalshi, you are trading directly against other users,
not the house like traditional sports books.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome
of events across sports, politics.
Or even the weather.
For example, on Kalshi, what I am looking at right now
is this list of any time touchdown scorers here
in this upcoming Ravens-Bills matchup.
Of course, you've got Josh Allen.
You've got James Cook,
the big firepower weapons on offense for the Bills.
Then you've got the Ravens players, Zay Flowers, of course,
and Derrick Henry in there.
But the one guy that I'm looking at in this one is my guy.
Keon Coleman, he's been on a little bit
of a touchdown tear recently, and I like Keon
Coleman in this spot, regardless of if DJ Moore plays or not.
And it's only a 21% chance on Kalshi right now,
which means if you place $25, you could
win $118 in return if Keon Coleman does indeed score
at least one touchdown on Sunday.
So if you are interested in trying out Kalshi,
you can use the link in the description.

Thank you once again to CalSheet for sponsoring today's video.
All right, let's go ahead and take a look
at the rest of this Bill's injury report that
we have to dissect here.
Let's go ahead and pull that up full screen so everyone can see this.
There is the full list.
The big one here is D. Alford.
I think he's gone down from a limited on Wednesday to a DNP today,
so that is pretty concerning for D. Alford's availability.
Joe Andreessen pops up with a
knee injury. He was limited as well.
Ray Davis has an illness. He was a DNP. I wouldn't read
too much into that one.
I think that's just an illness thing outside of his.
body and any sort of other injuries that he may have going on there.
And then Bradley Chubb is
another one that we do have to keep an eye on with that limited tag.
He's dealing with both a chest
and a thumb injury. And another guy,
we'll get to DJ Moore and Oliver in just a second, but let's
start with talking about Dalton Kincaid,
who was kind of a surprise addition on this Bills injury
Andrew Report, and man.
What could have been with Dalton Kincaid?
We saw it the first two weeks. That is his ceiling. That
is what he is capable of. But we've
also seen the floor for Dalton Kincaid the past four weeks. It
has been night and day between his first two games
and his last four games. And now he's dealing with
yet another injury that may keep him out for a game or even longer.
We have no idea.
And it's so frustrating because, like I said,
we know what Dalton Kincaid is capable of.
130 yards against the Texans,
follows that up with 95 yards against the Lions,
and then it's just, he's a disappearing act from there.
He's been...
Basically absent in this offense ever since that Lions game.
And it's so, it's so confusing.
Maybe he has been dealing with this chest injury for multiple weeks
and we're just hearing about it now.
That could be the case.
But either way, it just seems like every single year,
Dalton Kincaid just cannot stay on the field.
But we know what he's capable of.
But over these past four games or so,
averaging 17 yards a game, that is not going to cut it.
So they got to get Dalton Kincaid.
Back up to speed, in my opinion.
Alright, now let's talk the other two players
that we have been keeping an eye on.
We've been talking about them every single week ever since week two.
It feels like that, of course, being DJ Moore and Ed Oliver.
But they have indeed returned to practice, both of them.
They've missed the last few games.
And let's start with DJ Moore on the offensive side of things.
And when the Bills traded for DJ Moore this offseason,
they thought that they were getting an Ironman type of player.
He only missed...
Two games in his entire career before coming to the Bills,
but that has not been the player
that they have gotten.
He's been dealing with a shoulder injury ever since week two.
He's been fighting through it.
He got re-injured against the Patriots,
and then he missed both the Rams game and the
Raiders game.
And for the record, DJ Moore did not want to miss those games.
I didn't think he wanted to miss those games.
It did not seem like his decision to sit out of those games.
And yes, he said that he was mad at himself,
which you do like to see out of the star receiver that you traded for.
But I agree with Joe Brady here.
That was the right decision to sit him for those two games.
They still got the win.
The offense looked fine without him.
Of course, it would have looked better with him in there.
They still were able to get the job done in both of those games,
and now they potentially have him healthy
for this Week 8 matchup against the Ravens.
Now, DJ Moore was in practice with that red non-contact jersey,
so his availability for Week 8...
His status is still in doubt, but I do think,
especially compared to the Rams and the Raiders
games, that he does have more of a chance to play in this one,
and you can see his stats
here.
Most of this came from that Texans game week one,
where he looked phenomenal with Josh
Allen, and this only shows that when DJ Moore is back to full,
that he is going to be a
very dangerous weapon in this Bills offense.
Now let's flip over to the defense where we're looking,
we're monitoring this Ed Oliver injury that has
also been going on it seems like every week or so since week two.
It started as a hip, now I believe it's a knee injury I'm pretty sure.
And look, Ed Oliver is not going to be some magic potion
that when he comes in this defense is magically going to...
Stop giving up 30 points a game.
They will certainly be better with Ed Oliver out there,
but he doesn't help the secondary, obviously,
where they need the most help.
But he is a huge get for the Bills to bring back.
Like Joe Brady says here,
there is a reason that Ed Oliver is who Ed Oliver is,
and getting him out there and being able to play football again
is only going to help our defense and our identity.
And the Bills, they don't need a top-ten defense
when you've got Josh Allen and his weapons on offense.
But you would still like to see a middle-of-the-pack defense,
and Ed Oliver is certainly a step in that direction.
And between the two, between DJ Moore and Ed Oliver,
I would lean on Ed Oliver being available more so than TJ Moore.
So it's good to see Ed Oliver back and practicing.
All right, one more guy that we've got to talk to
on the good news front of things.
We haven't heard from him all year.
That's because he tore his ACL all
the way back in January against the Jaguars.
We're talking about wide receiver Tyrell Shavers,
who has been activated off of the pup list.
He's not going to play this week, but.
He will start to practice and build up coming off of that torn ACL.
And I quite like Tyrell Shavers as a depth piece
for Josh Allen in the Bills receiver room.
We saw some flashes this last year in 2023.
And who knows, this could be a guy
to monitor down the stretch for Bills fans.
So don't forget about Tyrell Shavers in this Bills offense
because he should be back pretty soon,
which would be a huge boost for the Bills, but not this week.
He's not going to play this week.
So I want to talk, keep it this week.
I want to hear from you guys.
What do you think?
Who do the Bills need most on Sunday against the Ravens?
Do you think DJ Moore?
Do you think Ed Oliver?
Do you think Spencer Brown?
Do you think Dalton Kincaid?
Or do you think somebody else that we haven't mentioned?
Maybe D. Alford you think is the most valuable piece that we need back.
Maybe, I don't know, maybe you think it's Joe Andreessen or something.
I'm going to go with Ed Oliver here on this one because...
Like I said, the Bills offense is just fine.
Yes, it would be great to have TJ Moore back in there.
Don't get me wrong.
Yes, it would be great to have Dalton Kincaid at 100% availability.
Yes, it would be great to have Spencer Brown protecting Josh Allen.
But beyond all of that, Ed Oliver.
Shoring up that defense would
be a huge boost against yet another good offense that they've
got coming in with the Baltimore Ravens if Lamar Jackson
is playing obviously which it looks like
he is on track to play but let me know what you guys think.
If you agree leave a like on the video
let me know about Ed Oliver
and if not let me know in the comments why and who you think is
more valuable to have back but
Keep it right here on Bill's Digest.
We'll have a ton of more content coming your way
leading up to this Ravens game.
Tomorrow, we've got a Ravens preview
coming out with a Ravens guest.
So keep an eye out for that.
As always, thanks for watching.
And of course, go Bills.
