Things just took a MAJOR Turn... | Raiders News
Nov 2, 2026
The Raiders just dropped their final injury report ahead
of their next game against the Jets and for
the first time since September
the offense could actually have all of its weapons on the field
at once. Jack Besh broke his forearm in week three.
He was a full participant in practice
every single day this week.
Brock Bowers popped up with an injury of his own on Wednesday and by
Friday he had no game status at all
and all of that mixed in with the Jets best pass rusher
Probably not playing.
There is one name though on this injury report
that should worry you maybe a little bit more
than any one of them, and it's not exactly who you think.
Here's the final report for Sunday.
The Raiders are 3-4, the Jets are 2-5,
and kickoff is at 10 a.m. Pacific time at MetLife Stadium.
Two Raiders are already ruled out.
Defensive end Patrick Johnson didn't
practice once all week with a stinger.
And tight end Carter Reun is out with a foot injury,
even though he was a full participant all three days.
He's coming off the IR, so...
They're not rushing him into that spot.
Now, here's the name that I was talking about, Jackson Powers Johnson.
He wasn't even on the report on Wednesday.
Thursday, his back flares up and he doesn't practice.
Then on Friday, he's limited and now he's listed as questionable.
That's the guy in the middle of the offensive line
on a team where the run game is averaging
just three yards a carry.
And that is a guy that you cannot afford to lose.
There is actually some really good news on the injury front
though from this injury report.
Everyone else who was limited on Wednesday was a full go by Friday.
Corner Eric Stokes was the only late add here with an illness
and he was limited Friday with
no status so he should be able to go.
Now, real quick, before we get into Besh and Bowers
and their status and what everyone's saying about them,
a very quick reminder to hit that subscribe button.

Now, thank you so much for allowing me to hit that goal.
A new goal of 3,000 is very close.
Thank you so much for the support on the channel.
Let's get back.
To some of the updates.
So Jack Besh, he's been a hot topic of conversation.
If he practiced in full all week long,
why is he listed as questionable?
Because he's still technically on the IR.
The Raiders opened his 21-day window on Monday,
and they still have to activate him to the roster before he can play.
And Clint Kubiak has been saying all week
that there is a chance that he can play.
Before he got hurt, Besh played two games.
He had five catches, 48 yards, and a touchdown.
And the Raiders were 2-0 in those games that he played.
They are 1-4 since he went down.
Now, that's not all because of Besh, that 2-0 record,
but listen to how Kubiak talks about him.
He said, quote,
He just has a whole other aura about him when he's on the field,
and his teammates feel it.
Coaches feel it.
He's a really solid run blocker.
He's got strong hands.
And Kirk Cousins spoke about him as well.
He said, Jack has quickly come back.
He keeps a positive attitude.
It's good to have him back out there today.
Here is why this matters heading into this week.
Right now, the top two receivers are Trey Tucker and Jalen Naylor,
and they're basically the same type of player.
Small, fast, and on the outside.
Besh is a bit of the opposite.
He plays like a tight end in a receiver's body,
and that's exactly what the Raiders
and the run game stuck at three yards a carry
Needs right now heading into this week.
And the room continues to get a little bit deeper.
Deontay Thornton came off of the injured reserve on Thursday,
which is exactly why they cut Jonah Lahlou.
And we'll get to that in a second as well.
And here's the latest.
As of late last night, Levi Edwards reported
that Kubiak is still waiting
to make a decision on putting Besh on the active roster for Sunday.
So a decision is still up in the air.
We're actually going to find out later today what that decision is,
and that'll be exciting.
But if they activate him and he plays,
the only question is going to be how many snaps he gets.
Then there's Brock Bowers.
Limited Wednesday with the calf.
Full Thursday, full Friday, no status.
So it looks like he's playing.
He missed the first two games after a knee procedure.
And then in five games since,
he has 34 catches for 455 yards and three.
touchdown. His first three games back, he had 116 yards, 86, then 110.
The last two, 70 and 73.
Still good, but the targets have dried up a little bit.
But here's a stat that actually kind of blew
my mind. Every single run this season charted.
82% of them came lined up as a true wide receiver.
The highest he charted for any tight end last year was Isaiah,
likely at 54%. And that was in a part-time role
And he's not just lining up out there.
He is beating guys on 74% of those routes.
So it's no surprise that JT The Brick's number one ask
for Sunday was to prioritize Brock Bowers.
12 to 15 targets is what he wants.
He's been getting about 10 a game
and the reason he needs more is the scoreboard.
The Raiders offense isn't necessarily the problem.
You can see that the Raiders
are the most improved offense in the entire NFL.
14.1 points a game last year.
They're now at 25.9 this year,
but they've given up 30 or more in
four straight losses.
That's what's sinking this team.
And it's why Bowers can't be getting four targets a game.
Now, some other good news, and you never like to see guys hurt,
but the Jets are hurting way more than
the Raiders in the injury department.
Rookie edge David Bailey is doubtful for the game.
He hasn't practiced all week and he leads the Jets with 5.5 sacks.
Three of those, by the way,
came in one game against Cleveland in week five.
Will McDonald steps into his role if he can't go.
Another one of their edges is out.
One of their defensive tackles is out.
And on offense, lineman Max Mitchell is out with a concussion.
That's actually two of their edge rushers
and their biggest body in the middle gone,
probably not playing this week,
against the line that might be missing PJP.
And Breece Hall is questionable with a quad injury.
He's missed four straight games
and Braylon Allen has gone over 100 yards
twice without him.
On the other side too, Geno Smith has been sacked 21 times in 7 games.
That is 3 times a game.
And this Jets defense gives up 127.7 rushing yards
a game at 4.1 yards a carry.
If there is ever a week for Jenty to get going, it is this week.
So it's a 2-5 team missing half of its pass rush with a quarterback
who goes down 3 times a game.
If the Raiders lose this game...
There is no excuse, and we're going to be having
a much different conversation next week.
Vegas, however, still has the Jets favored by 1.5 at home.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that Ashton Gentry actually went out
and gave the Jets some bulletin board material this week.
He said, quote, a couple of the guys
out there don't really want to tackle,
but I'm not going to say names.
Bit of a bold statement from a guy averaging 3.1 yards a carry.
His carries went from 23 in week one down to eight.
And the message definitely got to the Jets.
It was said that that quote made it around the building.
And basically, this quote came out saying
that obviously certain things add a little more fuel to the fire.
But at the end of the day, I have to go out there and do my job.
And from Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, he said,
This is the NFL and I get it.
Everybody's motivated by certain things.
Our guys will be ready to play.
And to be fair to Gentry, the numbers do back him up.
The Jets are 21st in the league in missed tackle rates.
So he's not exactly making
And I thought this was pretty funny from Ted Nguyen.
He said people are mad at Gentry,
but he's just setting up the play action pass through the media.
Honestly, I love this type of stuff in sports.
I actually think there needs to be more of this in sports
because it's kind of got away from this.
But now he has to back it up because if he runs for 15 yards again.
The Jets are going to remind him all week of his comments.
One more thing that's kind of been bugging some Raiders fans this week,
and I saw it kind of making the rounds
on social media the last couple days.
To make room for Deontay Thornton, the Raiders had to waive.
Defensive tackle Jonah Lalu.
According to Jordan Schultz, that the Jets, the Colts, the Patriots,
Dolphins, and the Texans all put in claims.
That's quite a few teams.
The Titans got him because they had the highest waiver priority.
So a lot of people were talking about how there
were six teams that put in a claim
and the Raiders ended up getting nothing back for a guy at a position
that they actually still need to fill a gap in.
Kubiak's message this week was that everyone
is still fighting for playing time.
He said, we've got a young roster and we've got to see
who's going to be a big part of us moving forward.
forward.
and that's fine that's fair but you better be sure
because one of those five teams is the team
that you're playing on Sunday
so here's what a lot of people are reading between the lines i think
Besh does get activated later today
and plays bowers is fine and the jets are missing more
on their line than the raiders are on theirs
the only real worry for some fans is JPJ if he can't
go then Gentry is going to have a pretty tough time backing up what he
was talking about earlier this week
And keep in mind, a guy we haven't talked about,
last week against the Rams, Kirk...
Cousins threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns,
and they still lost by 14.
The passing game isn't exactly what needs fixing.
This may be the most complete this offense has looked all season,
so does the four-game losing streak come to an end?
The 8-ball says yes.
On Raiders Digest, we are saying yes, the Raiders win on Sunday.
So let's have a little bit of fun with this one.
Let me know in the comments who you think is going to win this game
and who do you think is going to have the bigger game on Sunday?
Do you think it's going to be Jack Besh or Brock Bowers?
Let me know in the comments down below.
Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Darius Dominguez.
This is Raiders Digest, and I will see you in the next video.
