AI GeneratedESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars may trade wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. due to his diminished role. While the Buffalo Bills need wide receiver help, the speaker argues that the cost may be too high given Thomas's recent poor performance and the Bills' more pressing needs on defense.
An NFL insider just dropped a major trade update
and it has huge implications for the
Buffalo Bills. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported
on the availability of an offensive weapon
that if he were to be traded to Buffalo would make
the Bills already potent offense that
much stronger. So what are the odds that the Bills go out
and trade for this guy and what
would it cost to go and get him? Let's talk about it.

And the trade deadline is rapidly approaching.
It will be here before we know it.
So, of course, these trade rumors are only going to get louder
and louder throughout the upcoming weeks.
and the most recent one that we have to report
on today is Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reporting that
the Jaguars may trade for Brian Thomas Jr. before the deadline.
Here is what Jeremy Fowler tweeted
out today. He said, multiple league execs believe
Jacksonville will seriously consider trading
Brian Thomas Jr. at the deadline now
that his role has decreased in Jacksonville's offense,
which is a huge piece on the board
for any wide receiver needy team out there and of course it's
been a conversation for the years the bills need
as much help at the wide receiver position as as
they can get so we will dive into all
of this brian thomas news in just a second but real quick
i've got to let you guys know that today's video
is sponsored by Kalshi and on Kalshi you are
trading directly against other users
not the house like traditional sports books you're buying
yes or no contracts on the outcome of events across sports politics
or even the weather for
example right now in Kalshi here is the game that i
am looking at as a bills fan because the bills
are on by but there are still some very important games
to keep an eye on most importantly this
seahawks chiefs game the seahawks can do the bills
a massive favor by beating the chiefs on sunday
night which would be a huge huge boost
in the Bills quest to win the one seed this year and
I'm all in on the Seahawks on this one
because if they're going to win they are going to need their
best weapon on offense that's right I'm talking
of course about Jackson Smith and Jigba I've got
him going for two touchdowns in this contest on Sunday night
which is only a 10% chance and if
uh Jackson Smith-Njigba does go for two plus touchdowns
and you place $25 you could win
261 dollars in return
so if you are interested in trying out Kalshi you can use the link in
the description trade 25 dollars with code digest NFL

instantly thank you once again to Kalshi
for sponsoring today's video now let's talk about
what is going on with Brian Thomas Jr. in Jacksonville
because this is what Jeremy Fowler
said on uh sports center today
this morning he said brian thomas jr immensely talented but i've
talked to several teams
who believe he could be dealt over the next few weeks so brian thomas's
name is very firmly in trade conversation it
was in trade conversation last year when he was not
playing up to his rookie level standard
and it's only gotten louder this year and jeremy fowler he
mentioned the role collapse of Brian Thomas
in Jacksonville it's become very very apparent over
the last two weeks because over the last two weeks he has had
no catches only 15 snaps he was
essentially benched throughout the entire trip out
to London for the Jaguars these past two weeks
against the Eagles and then against Houston
so it looks like his time in Jacksonville is at an end
They have no use for Brian Thomas in their offense.
They're all in on Jacoby Myers and Parker Washington.
Those are their guys.
Brian Thomas is a thing of the past.
You go ahead and take a look at what he's done this year.
And if you told me that three years into Brian Thomas's career
that he would be putting up these numbers through six games,
I would have told you that something that that this is not right,
that this is not Brian Thomas.
This must be a different Brian Thomas Jr.
Because only nine receptions, 105 yards, and one touchdown.
That is so shocking compared
to the guy we saw back his rookie season in 2024
when he was putting up these numbers.
He was one of the best receivers in the league in 2024.
And now you flash forward three years later,
he's only getting 15 snaps in a game.
that is so hard to fathom
but I mean you take all that into account you take all that into
consideration yeah it's no wonder that the that the Jaguars
are are going to try and get what
they can out of Brian Thomas while they still can
because his value is only going to go down
in Jacksonville and that raises the question what should
the Bills give up an offer for Brian Thomas
jr that is the big question on everybody's minds here
in Buffalo is it worth it to trade for Brian
Thomas Jr. if we are getting this guy that showed up in 2024
then it is a hundred percent yes without a
doubt they were in trade talks with Jacksonville last year
for this very guy and last year i mean
that's completely different
but you're looking at a hundred percent yes that the Bills should have
made that trade if you asked me last year now this year
when you look at this version of Brian
Thomas Jr. things get a little different I think baseline
to start we have to look at this most
recent trade between the Texans
and the Cardinals the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade because this tells
us a lot about what the market
is for Brian Thomas Jr. right now you take a look at this because
there are a lot of similarities between Marvin
Harrison Jr. and Brian Thomas Jr. they were the
same draft class they both have
that same high potential high ceiling that we've seen in the
NFL in the past we've seen it even more actually
with Brian Thomas than we have with Marvin Harrison
up to this point and you look at what
the Texans gave up here a second round pick and a seventh
round pick for Marvin Harrison Jr. and a sixth round pick in return
and it's that second round
pick that sticks out to me
and if if the Bills if that same asking price for the Jaguars is a
second round pick that I think it's it's a no way Jose
for the Bills on this one no way I would want
the Bills to give up a second round pick for this guy
that is just way way too too too much of a
ask for the Bills especially considering he's had zero catches
in both of his past two games even
Marvin Harrison was producing at least somewhat up
to that point this is is not even worth
considering a second round pick now I did see one trade proposal
that was a little bit intriguing
it was if they could acquire him for a third round pick
with maybe a late round throw in
as well that the Bills should absolutely consider making
that move I'm on the fence about this
like i said it's hard to justify giving up
a top three round pick i think for a receiver that has
made absolutely zero impact in his last two games
if the bills are betting on the fact that they can
get that receiver that we saw in 2024
then maybe they do consider doing this but i think that there
are a lot of receiver needy teams out there i'm thinking about
the chiefs i'm thinking about the
49ers that are in contention to win
the Super Bowl like the Bills that might go for it and
overpay for Brian Thomas Jr. and give up
that second round pick like Houston did for Marvin
Harrison. I could see that.
And then the other thing that I think of, can you take a look at
the Bills depth chart here?
And it is very clear that our weak spot is on defense. You don't even
have to take a look at the depth chart.
You can just watch the games to know that. But even with
DJ Moore's injury which has really been a bummer
for this wide receiver core they have been pretty
solid but and then you take a look at the defense here
and you say if they are going to go out and
make a trade at before this trade deadline it's got
to be on this defensive side of things 100%
whether it is a cornerback whether it's
a safety whether it's a linebacker it's got to be on
defense because the reality is you hope DJ Moore is back
and healthy sooner rather than later but
in his place Keon Coleman has been very good believe it
or not Khalil Shakir he knows his
role he's produced in that role I would like
to see maybe Skylar Bell get a little more action I
would like to see Josh Palmer clean up the drops
but if the Bills receiver room gets healthy and
stays healthy with DJ Moore in there I don't think there
is a very pressing need for Brian Thomas
Jr. and I do think that if the Bills are going to go out there
and make a trade it should be on the
defensive side of things I completely agree
with this sentiment here but I want to hear from you
guys what do you think about this potential Brian Thomas Jr. trade
to the Buffalo Bills do you think
that yes the Bills should go out
and make this trade no matter the price we've seen what he can
do in 2024 do you think no or do you excuse me do you think yes
but only if it's for a later round
pick I'm talking not even third round fourth round fifth round pick
which I don't even think
that they would be able to pull off I like I said there
are other receiver needy teams that would
make this trade before that or do you think no it's not worth it to go
and get Brian Thomas Jr.
at all that they should focus on the defensive side
of things you already know where I stand
they should focus on defense that is my pick
for this one if you agree leave a like on this video
and let me know and if you disagree let me know
in the comments why as well so that's all we got
for today on the Brian Thomas front of things stay tuned here
at Bills Digest we'll have a ton more
content coming your way throughout the bye week
and of course leading up to that big Ravens game
next Sunday so keep it right here on Bills Digest
