And obviously Halloween is tomorrow,
so there are a lot of haunted houses out there.
But there is one for a good cause,
and this is the last year that it's going on.
And our Maria Guzman joins us from Cobb County now with a look inside.
Maria, I love that they're doing this.
I'm sad it's their last year, but they're raising money
for a good cause, so that's a good thing.
Hey, they're raising money for a great cause
for Children's Health Care of Atlanta.
And right now they have raised about $35,000. And now with that money,
they're going to be able to buy a lot of presents
and toys for the kids who are going through a difficult time.
So I'm going to go ahead and put my camera just to show you guys around
because I'm very impressed how the owner here
and the designer has truly flipped his home into a haunted house
and also just a little pre-show.
Right now in this room, this is just kind of like
a pre-show before you enter the haunted house.
And right here is Anthony.
Hello, Vinny.
Look, there you go.
It's like every corner, there's a surprise.
Anthony, walk me through this room.
Sure.
I'm very fascinated by it.
So we call this the movie room.
And it basically features characters
that are famous from horror movies.
So we'll have Sam, Frankenstein, we have Jason.
Jason, Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, and then Michael Myers.
And now I did walk through the haunted house.
I'm not going to lie.
I was scaring myself.
So I'm going to go ahead and just walk through there.
Talk to me about the past 13 years.
You told me that usually you begin to set up in January.
So walk me through the amount of hours, time that goes behind this.
So usually what we do is
Typically, I change my theme every year,
so I start in January building props,
if I'm going to build props that year,
and plan out my whole year around when I start building in a garage,
which typically starts in the middle of July,
and it takes me until, you know,
obviously a couple weeks before Halloween to have it finished.
And it's a lot of work, a lot of time,
and it's, again, I get motivated by the worthy
cause that I'm supporting to do this.
I learned a few years ago that some of these kids at the hospital,
actually, some of them
are terminal.
So this may be their only Christmas that they have.
And if I knew that I'm doing
that for a child that is in that condition,
working $500 a year, which is on average what I do,
it's nothing to me to do that.
So a lot of love and effort behind this year-round initiative.
And go ahead and open that door.
That's just the entrance into what people here are going to experience.
And you mentioned it is all for free.
People, if they want to donate, they can.
Yes, you can donate. It's not required.
Admission is free.
We are open tonight and tomorrow night.
Tonight from 6:30 until 10.
Tomorrow night from 6 until 10:30.
And it's a lot of fun.
Awesome. I'm just going to go ahead
and bring this phone inside to show you guys.
And again, this is all happening in Cobb County.
Tony and Anthony last.
How can people find your home here?
We're at 1260 Grandview Drive.
Tampa.
Finings Estates.
So
doors
open.
I'm Maria Guzman joining us from Cobb County.
Hopefully folks can go on out there either today
or tomorrow for this to be able to help
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
I mean, they've already raised $18,000.
That is a huge deal.
And let's try to see if we can help them raise some more.
