things that we're continuing to track here this afternoon.
I want to just talk a little bit more
for a moment about some of the big stories that we've
been talking about and that have you talking
out there as well today.
One of the big stories is the arrest of this 21-year-old woman from
Daytona Beach, Allison Albro, who's now facing charges accused of...
Putting a threat online against the life of President Trump,
who is going to be in Volusia
County a little bit later this afternoon.
She's now charged with written threats to kill,
unlawful use of a communications device,
saying that ended up telling investigators it was a joke.
She doesn't have access to a gun, didn't mean it. She is behind bars,
scheduled to make her first appearance in court in about 90 minutes.
From now, we talked about this case
and this investigation with one of our law enforcement
experts back in our first hour,
talking about why investigators take things like this so
seriously, especially in just days before an election as well.
Joining us live now to talk about some
of the other big stories that we're talking about here
today, I've got Fox 35 news anchor Amy Kauffeld,
who's joining us live now from the Alert Center
in the newsroom. And obviously,
with the president coming to our area here today,
a lot of eyes on Volusia County and Daytona Beach, Amy.
Yeah, absolutely. And they take
those threats very seriously. As you just mentioned,
the president has already had three attempts on his life,
three separate attempts based on
just over the last couple of years
that we know about that were very public.
We did talk to Sheriff Chitwood yesterday, and he said, listen,
I know people think that Florida is an open carry state
and you can you can bring your gun with you wherever you go.
He said, absolutely. Don't bring
that gun anywhere near the Ocean Center today.
We can talk to you a little bit about
some of the other logistical things.
There will be many streets that will be closed all around Daytona.
So if you are driving at all through Daytona today at any point,
you can expect major road closures.
You can also expect that we are going
to see some activity around Daytona Beach International Airport.
We can tell you right now
that the FAA has issued temporary flight restrictions for about
a 30 nautical mile radius around Ormond Beach Municipal Airport.
That is where Trump is expected to land.
So that airport will be, of course,
closely watched between 5 and 11 o'clock this evening.
The Ocean Center, by the way, can pack in about 9,300 people.
That's a lot of people.
Starting at about 7 o'clock this morning,
we already started to see people lining up.
We were kind of saying, well, what do they do about their chairs
and their coolers and things that they brought right to snacks
to to sort of sustain themselves throughout the day?
A lot of them will probably leave those those lawn chairs out in line
and maybe hope to get them on their way out later tonight.
But we can tell you, too, that there
are other speakers lined up as well as the president.
The president is expected to take the stage about seven o'clock.
However, Byron Donalds, Ashley Moody,
are expected to speak. Representative Randy Fine
is expected to speak tonight as well as well as
some other speakers. And those speakers will take
the stage right around five o'clock. So you'll have
a couple of hours of speakers leading up
to the president's entrance. You're going to have that
presidential motorcade going through Volusia County.
And so that'll be quite the sight to
see for people who don't make it into the Ocean Center.
You'll be able to see the motorcade come
through. Again, the president landing
at Ormond Beach Municipal Airport. And you talk about the
All morning long, someone else
who's been out there all morning long is Fox 35's Matt Trezza,
who has been talking to a lot of those folks
who have been gathered outside there.
He joins us live now.
And Matt, that crowd just continues to get bigger.
Yeah, bigger and bigger.
Several hundred people out here snaking
its way the line through the parking lot here
behind the Ocean Center.
It's the big convention center here in Daytona Beach.
All the streets around the convention center,
as you can imagine, are closed to traffic
by the Secret Service.
Everybody just trying to keep everything safe here.
And again, several hundred people started lining up
at around 6 in the morning, and
that is about 13 hours before the president leaves.
He is expected to talk.
He's about to take the stage at around 7 o'clock this evening.
Doors open here at 3:30 in the afternoon.
And I'm joined by a gentleman who's been out here for most of the time.
Sebastian's his name, but he goes by Daytona Trump.
And you've been entertaining the crowds.
What has it been like for you?
It's been amazing.
We have a lot of great supporters with us everywhere.
At this point, the Trump team should cut me a check.
Donald, I need a big check.
I've been entertaining them.
But I've been out here with some of the
Best people, Daytona's finest,
and we've had a great time and it's going to be a great day.
And yeah, we're doing great.
We're going to continue that same energy throughout the day.
Excellent. Now, what do you do to get yourself Trump ready?
So it's been a long time coming. I'm Daytona Trump,
look me up. Everybody knows me, but honestly, I lock in.
I put the hair on, the tan, the tie,
and it's like an Iron Man suit in a way.
And as soon as I have everything on,
it just all comes together and everybody loves it.
It really is.
What's been the response from the crowd?
It's been pretty good, pretty strong.
Everybody loves it.
Everybody's having a good time with it.
And we're just here to have a good time.
We're here to put America first.
We're here to put Florida first.
Uh, most importantly, and we're here to honestly just,
uh, be Americans and have a great time.
That's it.
That's wonderful.
And so you said this is something that you
do basically full time at this point.
Exactly.
Exactly.
How is that?
It's amazing.
I get booked out here in Daytona, uh,
for bike week and race week and a lot of big events.
I've done a lot of, a lot of big events
and an event for Byron, um, and some other big
people.
So it's, it's amazing.
It's a great job.
I'm blessed.
Because everybody has a good time, right?
Everybody, look at these people.
Look at these beautiful people.
Let me ask you, I mean, he's going
to be the president for another two years, but are
you thinking of beyond the Trump era?
What do you, what are your thoughts?
I'm thinking of just elevating Daytona Trump
because when Trump's not in office, someone
has to continue to be Trump anyways.
So it's going to be a great time and I'm not going to stop.
We're just getting started.
I'm just starting to be Daytona Trump
and we're going to build it bigger and bigger
every day.
So thank you.
Perfect.
Thank you so much.
Thank you buddy.
Everyone's having a great time out here.
Thank you.
It's my birthday, and all I want is a picture with Trump.
Oh, well, take your picture with Trump.
I'm going to take a picture real quick.
You know what?
I will do the honors if you want.
I can take the phone.
There we go.
We're going to take a picture of this lady with Daytona Trump.
And she's all decked out in the red,
white, and blue, as you can imagine.
She's got the hat.
She's got the shirt.
She's got the bracelet.
She's got the earrings.
Yeah, that was great.
Everyone, definitely.
I'll take the picture.
I'll take the picture.
Here we go.
All right.
We're going to go.
So one, there, one, two, three, that way.
And I always do a horizontal one, two, one, two, three, that way.
There we go.
Thank you, darling.
There you go.
And that's how things are looking here in Daytona Beach.
I'm going to send it back to you, Garrett.
All right.
Fox 75's Matt Trezza doing it all out there.
We appreciate it as that crowd.
Multitasking.
That's right.
All right.
MMJ out there.
All right.
I tell you what, that Daytona Donald Trump, that's something else.
Oh, gosh. We had him on earlier, too, Garrett.
And here's what's funny about the guy. You kind
of can love him regardless of what
your political party affiliation is because he's just funny and
he's really good at it. I mean, he's really good at it.
And he doesn't get too political. So it's
kind of, you know, he's just he's all about the schtick.
Yeah, he's got the impersonation down.
I say, you know, it's not too over the top.
Like, it seems natural. Like, yeah.
Yeah, it's pretty good. I'm curious to see
if he's ever met the president and what the
president would think of him. So I don't know.
Maybe we'll find out someday. We'll find out.
Maybe we'll find out later. Maybe tonight.
Absolutely. I want to touch on a big event
that we have tomorrow morning,
which is our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
And I'm telling you, this is doing gangbusters
when it comes to fundraising this year. We're
really proud of the numbers here at Fox 35.
Our little Amy's Army team has managed to raise nearly
nearly $11,000 and over.
Overall, we are looking at a $900,000 so far raised.
The fundraising actually goes all the way into December,
but they would sure love to have a record-breaking year
when it comes to fundraising for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
It is a worthy cause.
This is, of course, connected to the American Cancer Society.
We'd love for you to join us.
All you have to do is scan the QR code there on the screen.
There are the details on the TV right now so you know exactly.
Exactly where to go and what to do tomorrow morning.
So the walk actually starts at 9, but the festivities get started at 7.
And so come on down, find a place to park,
hang out with us, come say hello.
Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando.
And then if you live in Volusia
or Flagler County and that's closer for you,
head to the riverfront Esplanade in Daytona Beach.
And again, have a great time.
Come out, support these men and women.
And men get breast cancer too.
We say that all the time.
So everybody needs to be careful.
Come join us and we'll have a great time
and raise money for a great cause.
Yeah, and it's certainly a great cause.
There's always a great turnout out there
at the one in Orlando that we have.
Presence at and so great to see to see
that and to hear those those numbers,
the money we know that's going and really going to make a difference.
It will. And here's the thing here.
And this is what's crazy about the Orlando walk.
It is the largest walk in the nation.
They usually get about 30,000 people to come down to Lake Eola,
but it's not the biggest fundraiser in the nation.
So they would like to change that.
They would love for it to be the biggest walk
and the biggest fundraiser. So we'll see if that happens.
There are going to be a lot of people tonight.
At the space game. This is the other big story of the day.
Of course, it's Friday night under the lights
and we were at a couple of local high schools this morning.
We were highlighting the kids at Cocoa and at Rockledge, but we're
also going to be paying very close attention to tonight's UCF game.
This is the space game. They play Baylor.
They've got these fancy new uniforms.
Of course, they get great uniforms just for this particular game.
The kickoff is tonight at 7:30
and we do anticipate this is going to be a close game.
Close game.
Baylor actually just.
fired their coach. So they're coming to this without their coach.
UCF, of course, coming off
of that high of that big win over Brigham Young last weekend.
And so this is going to be a very
closely watched game. I do think there
are still some tickets available, but probably not a lot.
So get out there, go check out those great uniforms.
Of course, all of this is highlighting
UCF's history as a technological university.
And this university was originally created back in
of the 1960s to feed engineers.
and future astronauts into the programs over at Kennedy Space Center.
So that is sort of the root of this university.
If you drive around campus, you know,
all of the street names are something having to do with space.
So it's a very special connection.
This is a very special game.
This is, I believe, Garrett, the 10th year they've done the space game.
And it's going to be a great night in the Balthaus.
And the Knights have only lost the space game once.
And so I want to keep that momentum alive.
With a big win tonight, yeah,
you mentioned about how much it means to the university,
that's for sure. And coming up a little bit later
in the show, we're gonna go in depth
with Dr. Phil Metzger from UCF about those times,
about the UCF's history as Space U and
the space program there.
So we're gonna talk more about that a little bit later this hour.
Amy, we really appreciate it,
and we look forward to seeing everybody out there
tomorrow for the Making Strides. Can't wait, it's gonna be a fun day.
Today, we start with making strides and we end with lots and
Lots and lots of candy.
It's like the perfect day.
Man.
Is the perfect day.
Exactly.
Well, I'll ask you here, Amy, since our question of the day,
we've been asking people their
favorite way to spend Halloween.
Is it dressing up in costume?
Is it eating candy, watching scary movies,
throwing a party, or scaring other people?
Ooh, any take on this?
Okay, so for me, it's eating candy
because I feel like it's like that one time of year
where like there are no limits
and I just basically just,
I'm like one piece for the kid at the door
and one piece for me, right?
It's just like back and forth.
Yeah, I always buy extra.
Always.
Yeah, you've got to have extra.
Absolutely.
I heard your wife won't let you in the stash.
I'm really sorry about that.
Yeah, she said it was a slippery slope.
I said I just wanted to try the,
they were like sour Skittle gummies or something.
I was like, just let me try those.
Just let me try those.
She said no, because she knows I wouldn't just stop
at those.
You can't stop.
She's probably right.
And then we would have to get more candy to hand out.
So, yeah.
Have fun.
Amy, you too.
Thanks, Garrett.
