Georgia and Florida face off tomorrow,
and we are getting you ready to celebrate in style.
Whether you're hosting a crowd
or maybe you're heading to someone else's house, we've got you covered.
So Kim Wilson, founder of Lucy's Market, and food buyer Amy Hunter
are here with five easy game day entertaining essentials and more.
So ladies, welcome to Good Day.
Thank you for having us.
Hi, it's so good to have y'all here.
We've got to talk about Lucy's Market.
So you told me that y'all just moved to a new location.
We did.
We are in Buckhead and we just moved to 3402 Piedmont.
It's a freestanding building
and it's pretty much at the corner of Lenox and Piedmont.
Very nice.
So what will you find inside for those of
us that haven't had a chance to check you
out yet?
Oh wow, the store has an arrangement
of prepared local foods, home decor, wine, gift baskets.
Oh, that looks nice, Kim. Look at that.
It is really fun, fun, fun.
You've got a nice setup, some great, great stuff.
A lot of gifts, a lot of gifts. So anyway, it's really fun.
Very nice. Okay, well, if there's one thing you know a lot about,
it's entertaining, it's hosting, it's setting the tone through
the food, through the atmosphere, through the pieces and the like.
So you have five ways that we can be great at entertaining,
especially when it comes to preparing for a football game.
So let's start with this.
Some easy appetizers that are delicious.
Absolutely, and Amy, here is our food buyer,
and she can tell you about all this yummy, yummy food
that we have.
Where do we even start, Amy?
Well, I don't even know.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
We have a little bit of something for everybody.
It's great, easy to grab and go,
things that you don't have to spend a lot of time
in the kitchen, so you can enjoy the game,
you can enjoy your guests.
We have everything from these amazing poppy seed,
ham, and Swiss.
Rolls, absolutely amazing, buttery, we've got dips.
We've got spinach dip, buffalo dip, cowboy caviar, corn dip.
We have an amazing vendor that does street tacos for us.
They come in three different flavors,
so they're kid friendly, adult friendly, all the different
spices, whatever.
Perfect.
Game day, got to have boiled peanuts, local big guys nuts,
we have pimento cheese, we have chicken
salad, we have everything you need to make a board.
Meats, cheeses, fruits, we have guacamole,
Guacamole by Freddy. He's one of my favorite local vendors.
He does a classic, a mango,
and a pineapple. Oh, wow. You can't go wrong with some good dips.
No, ma'am. Guacamole. Nice. What
I'm getting from the theme here is it's got to be easy,
like finger food kind of thing. Portable,
right? Like you need to be able to have
these bite-sized things, pick them up and be able to
walk around with it. That's key.
A lot of these can be served cold or you can heat them up.
Very nice. Very nice. Okay. So some fantastic options.
And you're saying we can pick all of this up there if we don't want to.
Okay. Absolutely. I love it. This and more. Very nice.
So we got the appetizer, some ideas for you there.
Also nice to have like a signature cocktail or even just,
you know, a mocktail or just have drinks. Absolutely.
We have a great wine selection. We have beer. We have
This local city classic Go Dawgs beer.
Official beer of the Georgia Bulldogs.
I love it.
So this is a good reminder for us, though, to think about drinks.
Think about your drinks.
We also have margarita mixes.
Lots of cocktail mixers, mocktails, non-alcoholic wines, and beers.
Good stuff.
Okay, so we got that signature cocktail checked off of our list.
We can do that.
Also fun to have a spirited tabletop.
Oh, my gosh.
Let's talk about it.
We have everything you could ever want to make
your whether you're having a tailgate or you're entertaining at home
Or you're going to someone's house.
We have all sorts of fun things to decorate
We have we brought, Georgia and Florida.
We have a mixture of collegiate at the shop
Here is a football dish. You can put your dip. That's so cute
Get a lot of cutting boards. Look at this cooler bring
your some wine in this cooler if you're a Georgia fan
We have paper placemats. We have, look at this tray from Florida.
That's perfect.
All sorts of fun things to help you.
Look at this. I mean, every dorm room needs this.
I think that's adorable. And this acrylic dog to put on your table.
Of course, we carry all the napkins, plates.
Don't forget the speakers, the Turtle Box speakers.
We've got the Turtle Box speakers. And for all you...
People, I say women, but your Mahjong players,
we got the Georgia Mahjong set for you if you want to play Mahjong
and watch the game at the same time. Very on theme.
Which a lot of people do. Yeah. And we got these cups, these tumblers.
We got the Florida one over here.
Do you see it? And then look at those.
Amy, you want to show them those little cups that you can put the...
your little cheese. Oh, that's cute. Little paper cups.
Yeah, that's perfect. Yeah, it makes it
easy. We mentioned, you know, being able to grab things
and walk around with it. So that's an easy
way to do it. So what I've read about you
and here's what I know is that you know how to
entertain. This is this is your specialty and has been for many,
many years. So do you have any tips
that you can share with us? And I want to start with this one.
I feel like sometimes we can get
intimidated at the thought of hosting people
because it can feel overwhelming and we can feel
like we have to do too much.
But that's not what it's all about, is it? No, not really.
Not at all.
But you do want to try to create some memories
for when your friends come over, your family
comes over.
And by having some of these things available
at your fingertips to just...
I'm just, um...
Oh, wow, we went over to her house, and she had,
you know, great little Georgia things
and Florida things for our Florida friends,
whether it's Auburn or whatever school.
We have an array of SEC schools and some other ones.
So maybe pick a few things.
Don't feel like you have to just go crazy,
but a few statements can really go far.
This is going crazy, but every bit of it came from the store.
And you probably could have gone crazier, couldn't you?
All this stuff you all have.
We could have.
And you could have done it.
They did it in less than an hour,
less than, what, 30 minutes, both of you.
It's all prepared.
There.
If anything, you have to stick it in the oven.
That's the most.
Hey, that is music to our ears
when we're trying to get things ready for people, get
things ready for family, for friends,
and be able to sit back and actually enjoy the
game and spend time and talk to the people who are over.
So some fantastic ideas.
Ladies, thank you both so much for coming
in and for sharing this with us.
And we got to stop in and see what all you have.
We love it.
We really blow out our holidays.
Thank you.
We are getting ready.
Christmas is around the corner.
Around the corner.
So yeah, maybe you guys can come to the shop next time and see it.
It's really spectacular.
Let the festivities begin.
We have Kim Wilson and Amy Hunter
with Lucy's Market hanging with us today.
