All right, let's get a quick look at the forecast here
with meteorologist Amisha Shade.
We've got some ups and downs, some tricks,
some treats to get through, Anthony.
But overall, there will be some dry periods for our Halloween weekend.
So don't cancel your plans.
Just keep in mind there could
be some minor delays due to some heavy downpours
and maybe a little bit of lightning at times as well.
So a combo of weather tricks and treats.
I think the main window for the majority
of this rain coming tomorrow afternoon
through Saturday afternoon.
By Saturday night, most of the rain is gone.
So that bodes well for trick-or-treaters.
It will be a close call.
But do plan on likely still some
Some wet roads and some puddles and of course we're keeping a close eye
on what's happening on election day. That front looks fairly strong
and it likely will bring a better chance for some strong storms,
heavy downpours and maybe a little bit of flooding.
So really two time frames Halloween and election day
or we could have some rowdy weather.
Tonight, things are very quiet.
Of course, we had a beautiful day, slightly drier air built in,
and that means most of the rain left us alone.
But western central parts of the state, not so lucky.
We've got flash flood watches around Midland and Lubbock,
and we've had multiple flash flood warnings near El Paso.
And this rain is just going to continue creeping closer to us
and continue to creep closer to us.
It could kind of haunt some of your Halloween plans.
So let me track it for you hour by hour
with our Euro future cast.
Notice 3 p.m. Friday, those showers starting to increase,
especially west of Houston.
Places like Brenham, Belleville, Sealy,
Wharton getting in on some shower action.
That means wet roads as we're getting close to the Friday evening rush.
You're trying to get home, relax, unwind,
get your weekend started, get your Halloween costume together.
As we go into Friday night, 9 p.m.,
notice those showers still sticking around across parts of the area.
It's going to be about a 40% shot.
Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon,
I think that rain chance goes up to about 60%,
but here's the critical timing.
I think between 6, 7, and 8 p.m., those rain chances are going
to drop from about 50, 60% to about 20%.
So the later you go out, Saturday night,
the drier it will be. Now, we got to jump to Tuesday because,
of course, we've been telling
you all about the early voting projections
and how things are going, but...
Actual Election Day is coming up this Tuesday,
and it looks like the weather could be a mess.
Of course, this time of the year,
we start getting some of those stronger cold fronts coming through.
And notice by 11 a.m. Tuesday, widespread downpours, maybe some
strong storms, and that sticks around through Tuesday evening.
So, could be messy if you wait until Election Day to vote.
So, you've still got one more day of that early voting
to take advantage and get your vote in before you have to.
Continue to deal with that rough weather for Tuesday.
So you can see that 40-60% shot
for rain Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.
Quickly fading Saturday night.
Very low rain chances for the second half
of the weekend and for Monday.
But then rain chances jump all the way back up
to 70% for our election day on Tuesday.
Not the greatest timing
because that could potentially impact voter turnout.
All right, here's the good side of it.
The updated drought monitor shows that,
yes, we have moderate drought in Houston,
but we now have extreme drought conditions for places like Angleton,
Santa Fe, League City, Lake Jackson.
So we need this rain. We just don't need it to fall all at once.
So look for a few showers tomorrow afternoon.
Grab the umbrellas if you are going
to be out doing early voting in the afternoon.
It should be mainly dry in the morning.
We'll start off in the 60s and climb to the low 80s.
Scream on the green out at Discovery
Green happening tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m.
We'll
be
right
back.
We linger for your trick or treat plan Saturday night.
Of course, we fall back. The sunset is going to be one hour earlier
on Sunday at 534 p.m. And then the widespread rain
and storms could mess with Election Day.
But of course, we are keeping track of all of it.
And we'll let you know if the timing changes.
But hey, that's what it's looking like for now.
