Thank you, Senator. Wow.
Campaign.
Tell me
before I
walked
out here.
This is our last time we're in Dallas before Election Day.
We've been on this campaign trail for a year.
I've been here so many times.
It is bittersweet to think that this is our last Dallas stop.
I am so grateful to each.
I love you, too.
I love you, too.
I love you, too.
I am so grateful that you all showed up tonight,
that you all are showing up at the polls.
I want you to make some noise if you have
already voted in this election to come back
tomorrow, because that was not loud enough.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
As you know too well now,
the stakes could
not be higher in this fight.
This is the fight of our lives that we are in in this election.
It is the one fight that I talk about,
the one fight of our time, the one fight of our
generation.
Is this going to be a Texas
that is by and for the people?
Or is this the billionaire's world
and we just live here?
The one in America,
it is the one fight for Texas.
It is the fight to decide who does Texas belong to.
And 99.9% of us are in the same boat
in that one fight.
Because while we have been spending the last 10 years fighting
culture wars that have divided a nation, divided a state,
divided families, brother against brother, daughter against father,
the only winner in those culture war fights have
been like 15 billionaire tech dudes, right?
They have amassed power, they have amassed money,
they have amassed all our data and they're about
to blow up the world if we don't come together fast
to save ourselves. This is the opportunity
in this one fight.
Opportunity in this one fight is to come together,
To forge a new way forward, to agree, to disagree, yes.
On important issues, but to recognize
that there is also common cause between us
and if we choose to forge
a new way forward together, then because we
are Texas and nowhere else matters,
the rest of the nation will follow.
Is ground zero for the one fight.
Billionaire Elon Musk here in Texas.
Billionaire who is Greg Abbott's biggest donor.
Billions of dollars of business
with the state of Texas.
That is why last week
I filed a lawsuit
against Greg Abbott
to demand Elon Musk.
Pages of redacted emails that Greg Abbott refuses
to hand over because he says they are, quote,
intimate and embarrassing.
Greg Abbott's embarrassed that those emails are going
to show he sold us out.
Here's what we already know.
We already know he redirected
a $100 million broadband contract to Elon Musk's company.
Republicans in Austin said, yo, this stinks,
and shut the whole broadband program down.
A draft agenda of the Texas Parks
and Wildlife Board meeting.
Two days after the election, they would sell our beach in South Texas,
Boca Chica Beach, to Elon Musk.
I grew up going to
as a little girl growing up in Brownsville, Texas.
There are my Brownsville beaches,
are protected in our Texas Constitution as being free
and open to the people of Texas because they are our beaches.
That Greg Abbott won't.
$1.7 billion in property tax breaks.
Taxes that last time I checked,
the rest of us pay full price on.
In fact, our property taxes have
gone up 85% under Greg Abbott.
The reason why we pay more and we get less in Texas
is because we are all paying the Greg Abbott corruption tax.
I want you to say it with me.
What are we paying? The Greg...
Corruption, tax, Greg Abbott's given
a billion dollars in no-bid contracts to his donors.
That's our tax, that's our taxpayer dollars.
He sold out our schools with his voucher scam.
We have over 150 school districts operating
at four days a week.
We have schools shutting down all over this state.
We have had teachers leave the profession because Greg Abbott took
a billion dollars from our neighborhood public schools
to give to unaccountable private schools
in his voucher scam after getting a $12 million donation.
It's an example of the what?
The Greg Abbott corruption tax.
The Greg Abbott corruption tax is why
our electricity prices are too damn high.
Do you know he sold us out during winter storm Uri,
when we were all freezing to death in our homes?
Companies withheld the gas
the grid needed until they could make billions in record profits.
Greg Abbott let them get away with it, and now we all foot the bill.
He received millions of dollars from those gas company CEOs,
and that is an example of the what?
The Greg Abbott corruption tax.
The Greg Abbott corruption tax is why hundreds
of data centers have descended upon Texas.
Invited, invited with the richest tax breaks
in the whole country and Texans are left to fend
for ourselves.
Our water is not protected, electricity prices, our land, all
For the data centers to have their way with.
That's an example of the what?
The Greg Abbott corruption tax.
Because Greg Abbott is the most corrupt governor
in all of Texas history.
It is why,
it is why he lies about me.
He has spent a hundred and eighty million dollars
against little old me.
For the record, no I'm not and never will support a state income tax.
I've never met a politician in Texas who supports a state income tax.
I don't think it exists.
I've never not once voted to increase property taxes.
Not once.
And no, I'm not working with teachers
to trans your children.
And neither are they.
The reason why Greg Abbott has to tell lies about me
is because he cannot run on his own record.
Because his record is this.
We have the most people without health insurance
of any state in America.
We have the most children without health insurance
of any state in America.
We have the most people being disconnected
from their electricity because they cannot
afford to pay their bills of any state
in America in this state that is the energy
powerhouse of the nation and beyond.
Texans can't afford to keep the lights on.
The most bankruptcies of any state in America,
and it is our small businesses that are struggling
to keep their doors open.
That is Greg Abbott's record.
He owns it.
It is why he is trying to hide from it.
It is why he will not debate me.
He is hiding from the voters.
If Greg Abbott is not man enough to debate me,
then he doesn't deserve to be the governor
of Texas.
Governor.
Governor, my agenda is to secure the American dream.
The American dream that if you work hard, you can have a good life.
We do that in Texas by saving Texas public schools
and putting money in your pocket.
For Texas public schools, because they're important
to our kids, our community, our economy.
But we fight for Texas public schools
because they are essential to the American dream.
without strong public schools.
Schools tell every Texas child you can be
anything you want to be if you work hard
and that is why when I am governor on
day one I will fire Mike Morath
and I will put an educator
in the position of
Texas Education Agency Commissioner.
And right now, I want you to raise your hand
or stand up if you are an educator,
if you work as part
of a school community.
Thank you. And please know
that help is on the way.
Governor, I will wipe clean all
of Greg Abbott's corrupt vendor contracts and
use that money to pay our teachers
to be amongst the highest paid in the nation.
Because we all know there's nothing more important
that we can do for a child's education
than to put a great teacher in the classroom.
I will pause the A through F accountability system
that is based on a deeply flawed STAAR
test and we will end the STAAR test.
I will call on the legislature to deliver
to my desk a bill to bring true accountability
to our public schools.
Look, I'm a mom. I have a son in public school still.
I crave accountability for his education and all our kids.
But we need true accountability,
not rigged accountability for our Texas public schools.
Listen, Texas public schools are who we are.
They are Friday night lights.
They are the largest employer in so many of our counties.
They are enshrined in our Texas Constitution
as being essential to the preservation of our liberties.
I want you to make some noise if you
are a proud product of Texas public schools.
Me too.
Secure the American dream by saving Texas public schools
and putting money in your pocket.
And when I say money in your pocket,
I mean $1,500 to every Texas household.
It is the Greg Abbott corruption tax refund.
Unlike Trump's plan, we actually have
the money in a savings account in Austin.
$27 billion, never had so much money in that savings account.
Greg Abbott is hoarding that money to shrink government.
He will not spend it on the people.
I say just give it back then.
Give it back to the people of Texas.
It doesn't belong to the politicians.
It belongs to the people.
I will suspend gas and diesel taxes
because we cannot be waiting on Washington to save us.
They're not coming.
We'll freeze electricity rates and make sure corporations,
including the data centers,
pay their fair
share.
Sure that every child
in Texas has quality health care.
Wealthy state, we have enough to make sure
our kids get the health care they need, that
we take care of our kids, and we will when I am governor.
Because of health insurance we pay more
and more and more and it's harder and harder
to see the doctors we need,
get the medication we need, the procedures we need.
I will rein in those health insurance companies
and ban bad faith denials in the state of
Texas.
Because we are not asking for handouts here.
Nobody here is asking for handouts.
We're just asking for what we already paid for.
For what we already worked for.
Because Texas is a world economic powerhouse,
and it is the people of Texas who built that power.
But the thing about power is that nobody is going
to give it to us.
We have to take it back.
This election is about taking back for the people of Texas,
all the people
of Texas.
Our school, our
water exists.
Listen.
In this campaign, five days left until we're done with this campaign,
we have had the most
amazing early vote, but it means squat unless we keep it up,
unless we make sure each and
every one of us are doing everything
in our power to turn out everybody that we know.
This is a change election year, but change only happens if we turn out.
And we are in a moment in history,
a moment that we did not choose to be in.
Sometimes we wonder, how did we get here?
But we are here, and I am a woman of faith,
and I believe that each and every one of us
has been chosen for this moment in history.
And all I know to do in this moment is everything in my power to meet.
This moment. And I am so proud and honored to be in this fight with you
and together as we do everything in our power to meet this moment.
If we do, if we're all in in a way we've never been all in,
then I will be the next governor of Texas.
Thank you so much,
Dallas.
Y'all are amazing.
Thank you.
I want to introduce you all to our next speaker of the night.
He's a true testament to the DFW community.
Our next guest tonight is the senior pastor
of Friendship West Baptist Church.
And it sounds like some of them are here with more than 20,000 members.
For more than 40 years he has served the community
and his congregation. He is a lifelong community
and social justice advocate
and he is your next congressman for Texas Congressional District 30.
Please help me welcome Reverend Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III.
Thank you Dallas. Dallas is in the house.
What's up Dallas? Are we ready to do this?
I know we are. Listen, I think Dallas is well aware of the fact
that there's an old adage that says if you do what you've done,
you're going to get what you got.
And look what we have gotten in Texas for the last three decades
that is now manifest expressly in the treacherous trifecta of Trump,
Abbott, and Paxton.
The treacherous trifecta,
I think that's a good word right there, a treacherous trifecta.
Trump, Abbott, Paxton.
We've done what we've done and look what we've gotten in this state.
We find ourselves, according to one particular survey,
when it comes to quality of life, Texas ranks at the bottom.
And you know who's been running this state for the last three decades.
I'm talking about the treacherous trifecta that's reflected in Trump,
Abbott, and Paxton.
They are one treacherous trifecta because we...
We as a state find ourselves sadly ranked near the bottom
when it comes to those who have access to health care
because of that treacherous trifecta of Trump, Abbott, and Paxton.
And then when it comes to education, look at us in Texas suffering
from a governor who has dared to defund public education.
It's all about this treacherous trifecta of Trump, Abbott, and
And Paxton, and listen, they've been running this thing
for three decades and now three decades later, look where we are.
Well, there's another adage that basically says that insanity is doing
the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
And here in Dallas, we are basically saying we ain't crazy.
We ain't stuck on stupid because it's time for a change.
It's time for us to get rid of the treacherous trifecta.
It's time for us to get rid of the economy of Trump.
The politics of Paxton and the antics of Abbott,
they've all got to go because when you look at the Trump economy,
I think James Tallarico says it very well.
We don't have an affordability crisis.
We have a corruption crisis that produces an affordability crisis.
And because we have a corruption crisis that is led
by that treacherous trifecta of Trump, Abbott, and Paxton,
we find ourselves in a war that is unconstitutional,
unwinnable, and downright unnecessary.
And I'm glad we got Tallarico going to the Senate
because Tallarico is saying we're going to put an end to this war
Because he recognizes the wisdom of two.
Tupac Shakur, who said, you know, it's funny when it rains, it pours.
We got money for wars, but we can't feed the poor,
but we gonna feed the poor.
Because James Tallarico recognizes that the true test
of a country is how you treat the least of
these. The true test of a country is how you treat
those whose backs are against the wall. And so I'm
glad to say that we are going to make a change.
It's time for a change. And instead of the treacherous
trifecta, let's stand with Tallarico, who's the truth.
I like that right there.
Tallarico.
is the truth because Tallarico believes in educational justice.
He does not defund public
education after all. Y'all do know there's
a crazy commercial out right now and the commercial this
man in a cowboy hat
and a and a badge has the nerve to raise the question where has James
Tallarico been? Well let me tell you where he's been.
James Tallarico has been a public school teacher
investing in young children
and writing his signature on the future because he recognizes
in the words of Frederick Douglass that knowledge unfits one
for slavery. He recognizes in the words
of Nelson Mandela that education is the great equalizer.
So I know where he's been. He's been
a public school teacher. I know where he's been.
James Tallarico has stood for voting rights and
voter suppression. I know where James Tallarico has been.
He has been standing for those who
cannot stand for themselves.
You want to know where he's been? He's been giving a voice to
those who have no voice.
Somebody said, where has James Tallarico been? I'll tell you what,
I know where he's going.
He's going to the United States Senate as the next senator
From the state of Texas,
I know where he's been and I know where he's been.
He's going because we are about
to say adios amigo to the treacherous trifecta.
Trump, you got to go.
Abbott, you got to go.
Paxton, you got to go because it's a new day in Texas.
Texas is standing for justice.
Texas believes because of Tallarico
and because of all who are trying to make us
progress toward a new era that health care should
be a right for every single American
and not just a privilege for the few.
We're going to have health care justice.
We're going to have.
Environmental justice. Why?
Because your life expectancy should not be determined by your zip code,
but by your genetic code. We must have justice economically.
I'm tired of money simply going up
to the Epstein Trump billionaire class and that trifecta.
No, we've got to make sure that we have economic justice for all.
I'm simply trying to
Let everybody know it's a new day in Texas.
It's a new day because the treacherous trifecta has got to go.
It's a new day because James Tallarico recognizes,
and please don't miss this,
that faith with works brings about life.
If faith without works is dead,
then faith that works brings about new life.
And so I thank you, James Tallarico, because you recognize that in.
The judgment, Jesus is going to ask,
when I was hungry, did you feed me?
When I was thirsty, did you give me something to drink?
When I was in prison, did you come see about me?
I got a Freddie Haynes remix it, because y'all didn't get that.
He's going to separate the nations,
and he's going to say, I was hungry,
but you cut SNAP benefits because of your big, stupid, ugly bill.
I was thirsty and you poisoned water in Flint, Michigan and Jackson.
Jackson, Mississippi,
I was a stranger and you transform ICE into the new KKK.
And what about terror in this nation?
It's time to melt ICE.
It's time to abolish ICE.
Those days are over because we believe in liberty and justice for all.
And then James Talarico, I stand with you.
Because I also recognize as a man of faith
that you recognize that our true witness is always going
to be determined not how much we talk but how well we walk.
It's not going to be determined by hallelujah on Sunday
but do hallelujah throughout the week.
It's going to be determined by how we treat
those with their backs against the wall.
And so, yes, here in Texas,
we're going to push and fight to make sure that the war on power.
The poverty that Martin Luther King Jr. died fighting for,
we're going to pick up that war
and we're going to fight to end poverty in this nation. We're going
to fight to ensure that everybody has a right to opportunity.
That's what we are about. And so they asked the question.
And when y'all see the commercial and the question is raised,
do you know where James Talarico has been? Say in the words of the
The late, great Whitney Houston, hail to the yeah,
we know where he's been because he's
been fighting for us.
He's been standing for us.
He believes in us.
And not only do we know where he's been, but we know where he's going.
And the best news is we're going there with him.
And when we go there with him,
this will be a reconstruction, a nation, one nation with
liberty and justice for all.
Y'all, I see it.
Because Dr. King said,
mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
We sang in the civil rights movement,
we shall overcome.
Y'all didn't get that,
so let me give you Kendrick Lamar.
Here it is, Dallas Democrats.
All my life I had to fight.
But if God's got us, we gonna be all right.
I know where Talarico has been.
I know where he's going.
And we are going with him.
Now let's keep it moving.
Let's go!
It's so
good
to see
you.
Thank you, thank you.
Give it up for your next congressman, Dr. Freddie Haynes.
Thank you, Dr. Haynes,
for those kind words and for your service to this community.
Thank you to the volunteers in the vests who made this event possible.
And thank you to all of you for showing up on short notice.
It is so good to be back in Dallas, Texas.
We are on our Clear Eyes, Full Hearts Tour.
At this time of year in Texas,
there is no better place to be than a high school football game.
The band, the roar of the crowd, the chill in the air.
No matter who you are or what you look like,
everyone in town is there for the same reason.
To root for the same team.
There's that moment in every game.
The last play of the last drive
when you have to leave it all on the field.
Dallas, we are in that moment.
In the final days of this election,
they are coming at us with everything they've got.
The billionaire mega donors and their super PACs
are spending more than $200 million to try to stop us.
That is the most of any Senate race in American history,
and more is on the way.
They are scared.
They are terrified.
They see what we see,
that we're about to win this election on November 3rd.
We've got more than 60,000 people signed up to volunteer,
signed up to knock doors and make
phone calls and send text messages.
And if you haven't signed up to volunteer yet, I hope you'll
do that when you go home tonight on our website.
Our volunteers here in the vest can also get you
signed up. We have also shattered every grassroots fundraising record
in American history, and we've
done it, and we've done it.
Without taking a dime from corporate PACs.
This is a people-powered campaign.
And on November 3rd, we are going to do something extraordinary.
We are going to do something historic.
We are going to shock the nation, shock the world,
when we beat the billionaires and take back Texas.
When I was in high school, north of Austin,
they were filming a TV show in our area.
It was called Friday Night Lights.
It's a show about the Dillon Panthers,
an underdog high school football team and their
coach, Eric Taylor.
In the very first episode, right before the big game,
Coach Taylor gives a locker room
speech and he says, they're going to come
at you with everything they've got.
I expect you boys to execute.
I expect you boys to play football.
And then he ends with six immortal words, clear eyes, full hearts.
Can't lose Dallas.
We have five days to win this election.
We have to execute. We have to leave it
all on the field. We have to win.
Our fellow Texans are counting on us over the past year.
I have traveled to every corner of the state from Beaumont to El Paso,
from Amarillo to Brownsville
and everywhere I go, I meet Texans who are drowning.
I met a grandmother in Houston
who is working 10-hour shifts at the airport to care for
her five-year-old grandson,
but her wages don't cover her basic living expenses, including
rent for her small apartment, which is $1,500 a month.
Now she and her grandson are facing eviction.
I met a mother in Abilene who built her dream home with her husband,
and then a data center
popped up across the street.
Now, her little boy wakes up in the middle of the night and thinks
it's day because of the lights shining through his bedroom windows.
I met a small business owner in Port Arthur
who's struggling to keep his family restaurant open.
Hamilton's is a Port Arthur institution, best southern cooking around.
His dad ran it before him.
His dad used to raise prices every six years to keep up with inflation.
Now he's having to raise his prices every six months.
Now he's choosing between closing his doors
and raising prices higher than his customers can afford.
In the last election, Texans voted to lower costs.
Texans voted to lower grocery prices.
But corrupt tariffs are raising prices in the checkout line.
Texans voted to end the wars,
but now we have a new corrupt war in the Middle East that's
driving up gas and diesel prices.
Texans voted to lower health care costs,
but corrupt political deals have gutted our health
care, sending premiums skyrocketing,
all to give tax cuts to billionaires.
We have an affordability crisis because we have a corruption crisis.
But we can end that in this election, in this state, in this race.
We are running against the embodiment
of this corrupt system.
We are running against the most corrupt politician in Texas.
Ken Paxton is everything that's wrong with our politics.
He doesn't serve us. He serves himself.
Since taking office,
Ken Paxton has increased his net worth by $27 million,
all while our pay has remained stagnant.
He now owns 15 homes, while most Texans are struggling to afford one.
It's hard to get 15 homes in a game of Monopoly.
I don't know how Ken Paxton got 15 homes.
He was impeached by his own party for taking bribes from wealthy donors
all while he blocked our overtime pay and gutted our health care.
This is the rot.
At the core of our broken political system,
it's why, it's why so many Texans can't get
ahead, no matter how hard they work,
no matter how much they save and stretch and sacrifice.
It's why we can't afford the basics in this economy,
gas, groceries, utilities, health
care, because the system.
Has been rigged by billionaires
and crooked politicians like Ken Paxton.
Ken has spent his entire career enriching himself and his donors.
I've spent my career working
with both parties to cut your property taxes,
to lower your housing costs, to cap your insulin co-pays.
I have a legislative record.
Ken Paxton has a criminal record.
This election.
This election is about whether you want a senator
who puts money in your pocket
or who puts money in their own.
This election is about whether you want a senator
who is for Texas or for himself.
This election is about whether you want a senator who serves you
or who serves billionaire megadonors.
And Ken Paxton has the ultimate megadonor.
Elon Musk is trying to buy this Senate seat in Texas.
We just found out that the richest man in the world
is almost single-handedly bankrolling this effort
to install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate
and stop this movement that we're building in our state.
In all likelihood, if you've seen an attack ad on your TV,
that was Elon.
If you've gotten lies in your mailbox, that was Elon.
If you've received a text message saying scary things about me
with scary black and white photos,
That was Elon, too.
Our movement is funded by 1.3 million individuals
who have donated their hard-earned money to this campaign.
Ken Paxton is funded by one dude.
Elon Musk wants our land.
He wants our water.
He wants our tax dollars.
He wants his very own personal United States senator.
He is trying to buy Texas.
But on November 3rd, we are going to deliver
a crystal clear message to the world's first
trillionaire. Texas is not for sale.
Paxton is not one of us.
He's not even from here.
He moved here from California, just like Elon Musk.
Why is it always the Californians saying,
don't California my Texas? They need to look in the mirror.
But the problem with Ken Paxton is not that he didn't grow up in Texas.
The problem with Ken Paxton is that he doesn't understand Texas.
I believe anyone can be a Texan.
It doesn't matter if you're an 8th generation Texan like me
or if you just got here yesterday.
What makes a Texan is not in the boots or in the truck.
It is deep in the heart.
Texas used to be known as the friendly state.
Our official state motto is friendship.
The word Texas comes from the Caddo Native American word for friend.
And what's interesting is that they didn't use
that word to describe a friend in their own tribe.
They used that word to describe a friend in a different tribe.
Friendship across tribes.
Friendship across divides.
That's what makes Texas so great.
We're this big mashup of all these different people,
all these different cultures, all these different friends.
Just think about Tejano music.
If you're listening to a Bobby Pulido song,
you are hearing Spanish vocal styles from northern Mexico.
And you're also hearing polka dance rhythms from Czech
and German immigrants.
This uniquely Texan ability to welcome new friends,
welcome new ideas, has made us one of the most exciting
and innovative states in the country.
We're the state that put a man on the moon.
We're the state that pioneered ranching and energy and computers.
We're the state that gave this country Barbara Jordan,
Ann Richards, LBJ, and the Great Society.
We're the state that put breakfast in a taco.
My mom is a seventh-generation Texan, and growing up,
she would tell me how lucky I am to live in this state.
She would always say, why would you want to live anywhere else?
Texas has everything, beaches and mountains,
plains and piney woods, big cities and small towns.
She taught me that Texas is beautiful,
Texas is bold, and most importantly, Texas is big.
Big hair.
Big hearts and big dreams.
Our athletes, our athletes are beloved across the globe.
Spurs, Astros, Cowboys.
Our musicians are so iconic, they only need one name.
Willie, Beyonce, Selena.
This election shouldn't be about the Democratic Party
or the Republican Party.
It's bigger than that.
This election should be about chasing
a vision of what this state can be.
Texas public schools that are the envy of the nation.
A Texas economy that is second to none.
And Texas families that are stronger
and healthier than they've ever been before.
That won't happen overnight, but a giant state deserves giant dreams.
Another great Texan, Lyle Lovett.
Has a song called, That's Right, You're Not From Texas.
Come to think of it, he might have written it for Ken Paxton.
There's a line in that song that I love.
He says, at a dance hall down in Texas, that's the finest place to be.
The women, they all look beautiful.
And their men will buy your beer for free.
Every Texas bar has those regulars.
The ones who pick up around.
The ones who check on the guy who's drinking alone.
The ones who share a laugh, or a story, or their fried pickles.
And every bar also has that one guy.
He's loud, he's obnoxious, he makes everyone feel uncomfortable.
He hears you say your name to the bartender
and then adds his drink to your tab when you're not looking.
That's Ken Paxton.
And I don't know about y'all, but I am done picking up his tab.
This isn't a partisan thing.
Republicans know just as well as Democrats
that there is no place for guys like Ken Paxton in Texas.
That's why these two parties that don't seem
to agree on anything these days
came together to impeach the most corrupt politician in our state.
I was there.
Those Republican lawmakers
who put Texas before their party were my colleagues.
Many of them are my friends.
Many of them represent the small towns across this state
where those Friday night lights burn the brightest.
And some of them paid the ultimate political price.
Because when you go after the puppet,
you have to deal with the masters who pull his strings.
You've heard of Elon Musk,
but you might not have heard
of Ken Paxton's original billionaire mega donors.
Two billionaire pastors from West Texas.
I didn't know you could be a billionaire and a pastor, but that's new.
Their names are Tim Dunn and Ferris Wilks.
After Ken Paxton's impeachment,
Dunn and Wilks spent millions in attack ads
against those brave Republican lawmakers
who attempted to hold one of their own accountable.
And Dunn and Wilks succeeded.
Many of my Republican colleagues lost their seats
because they dared to impeach the most
corrupt politician in Texas.
Now, those same billionaire pastors
are helping Elon Musk install their puppet in the United
States Senate.
But this Senate seat doesn't belong to Tim Dunn.
This Senate seat doesn't belong to Ferris Wilkes.
This Senate seat doesn't belong to Elon Musk.
This Senate seat belongs to you.
It belongs to the people of Texas.
This Senate seat has been held
by some of the finest Texans.
Ken Paxton should be nowhere near Lyndon Johnson's Senate seat.
Ken Paxton should be nowhere near Sam Houston's Senate seat.
On the eve of the Civil War, as our state seceded from the Union,
the Texas legislature removed Sam Houston from office.
After he refused to swear an oath of loyalty to the Confederacy.
Upon his removal,
legend says that Sam Houston rested under Austin's Treaty Oak,
a 500-year-old live oak tree
and sacred meeting spot for the Comanche and Tonkawa peace parties.
As he rested, Sam Houston wrote the words
to a speech he would never deliver.
It included these words, do right and risk the consequences.
Like my brave colleagues, Sam Houston is a Texas hero
because he did right and suffered the consequences.
He didn't do it for himself. He did it for Texas.
What would Sam Houston say to us
at this critical moment in Texas history?
What would Sam Houston say to those Republican voters across this state
who tonight are thinking about breaking
with their party in this election?
I think he would say, do right.
And risk the consequences.
In Friday Night Lights,
when they're down at the half in the state championship game,
Coach Taylor tells his Panthers,
every man at some point in his life is going to lose a battle.
But what makes him a man is that in the midst of that battle,
he doesn't lose himself.
After Coach Taylor's speech, the Dillon Panthers retook the field.
They played the game of their lives for a crowd that had given up hope.
For a crowd that wanted to believe, but had forgotten how.
The Panthers won that game by one point.
They won despite being the underdogs.
They won despite everyone telling them it was impossible.
They risked it all.
They left it all on the field.
They won with clear eyes and full hearts.
Dallas, we are the underdogs in this race.
We are literally going up against the richest man in the world.
This election is a battle.
Between the powers that be and the powers that ought to be.
The powers that be have chosen their candidate.
They have bought and paid for Ken Paxton.
But we are standing with the powers that ought to be.
The teachers and the nurses.
The farmers and the ranchers.
The grandmother who is facing eviction.
The little boy waking up in the middle
of the night from the lights of the data center.
The small business owner who's trying
to keep his family restaurant open.
Those Texans are my team. They are why I'm in this race.
I want to be a senator for every Texan
who can't afford one.
This is what's at stake in 2026.
You want to know, you want to know why
they are spending $200 million to try to defeat me?
Because I don't take their corporate PAC
money and I never will. I don't work for them.
I work for you. They know.
They know that when we win this race,
I'm going to vote to ban corporate PACs and super PACs
so billionaires can't buy our elections.
They know, they know that I'm going to vote
to ban members of Congress in both political parties
from trading stocks and enriching themselves
while they're in public office.
They know that I'm going to vote to ban gerrymandering nationwide
in red states and blue states alike.
And they know...
That I'm going to vote to pass term limits
so we can show those puppet politicians the door.
They may have the money, but we have the majority.
Big money is powerful, but it is nothing,
nothing compared to people power.
This election reminds me of that story
from scripture of a shepherd boy
who goes up against a giant.
For 40 days, Goliath taunts and teases.
On the day of the fight, he shows up in full armor.
He's carrying so many weapons,
he needs someone else to carry his shield.
We are going up against our own Goliaths,
those billionaire megadonors, those corporate
special interests, the entire Washington, D.C. establishment.
Their power is real, but so is ours.
David wasn't as big or as strong as Goliath.
He didn't have as many weapons, but he had hope.
He had faith.
And he had a slingshot.
Dallas, you are my slingshot.
The people of Texas are my slingshot.
And on November 3rd, those Goliaths aren't going to know what hit them.
Dallas, I want to leave you with one last thought.
My granddad was a Baptist preacher,
not the billionaire kind, just the regular kind.
And when I was little, he told me that we follow a barefoot rabbi.
Who gave us two commandments,
love God and love neighbor, because there is no love of
God without love of neighbor.
2,000 years ago, when the powers
that be hurt his neighbors,
that barefoot rabbi didn't
stay in his room and pray.
He walked into the seat of power
and he flipped over the tables of injustice.
That brave act.
Of civil disobedience led to his execution.
Do right and risk the consequences.
Every man at some point in his life is going to lose a battle.
But what makes him a man is that in the midst of that battle,
he doesn't lose himself.
This is the last play of the last drive, Dallas.
This is the moment we leave it all on the field.
We are the underdogs.
It's David versus Goliath.
It's the powers that be versus the powers that ought to be.
And it's time for us to start flipping over some tables.
Because, because, as every Texan knows,
clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
Thank you for being here, Dallas.
God bless you.
Let's go win this thing.
Thank you.
