Hear from new Boise State President David W. Hahn
Oct 30, 2026
Today I am deeply humbled to be formally installed
as the eighth president of Boise State University,
following the presidents that have come before me.
I accept this honor with a deep sense of responsibility,
not simply to lead a university, but to serve the people of Idaho,
the families who work hard to give their children a better future,
the students who dream of what they could become,
the employers who create opportunities,
and the communities that depend on us.
Because at the heart of everything we do are people,
their hopes, their aspirations, their
futures, and fulfilling
that responsibility requires more than any one person, any one
program, or any one part of this university.
It requires all of us working together toward a shared purpose,
and that is what I mean
when I say we are one Boise State.
One Boise State begins with our students, our faculty, and our staff,
but it extends far beyond the campus and includes our community,
our families, our alumni, our donors, the Bronco Nation.
It extends to our schools, our community colleges,
and our sister universities, our employers, our healthcare providers,
and our community partners, and the elected officials
and the taxpayers of Idaho who invest every day in this university
and rightly expect us to deliver.
Our future is connected to Idaho's people,
and together we can accomplish far more than
any of us can accomplish alone.
