Russian state TV, Rossiya 1, showed what was happening in Ukraine's Oleshky during the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine stretched into a third day. According to Associated Press еhe footage demonstrated how Russian military units cleared away landmines and destroyed vehicles from roads. Local residents rushed to buy some food stocks at a local market and visit relatives stuck in the town. "But how? These are elderly people. they always hold on to their homes. She doesn't need anything, she has a roof over her head, her own house and that's it," Alexander, an Oleshky resident who left the town two years ago, said in the TV report, cycling to his mother. AP cannot independently verify the exact date, location and circumstances, under which the report was made. Speaking during Russia-Africa summit in Moscow on Thursday, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin mentioned the humanitarian mission in Oleshky and blamed Ukraine for cutting off access to the city. "This situation has been developing for long, I won't talk now about how the other side has planted land mines on approaches to the settlement, effectively causing a humanitarian catastrophe,” he said. Humanitarian aid is poised to roll into the stricken town of Oleshky on Friday, a Ukrainian official said. Moscow and Kyiv have observed the truce in and around the devastated southern Ukrainian town since Tuesday, despite remaining locked in the conflict for more than 4 ½ years ago.
