At least 1 injured in state trooper-involved shooting

There is a lot going on here in the city. You know, I pretty much say this every single time. This is New York City. There is always something happening, whether it's here locally, nationally, internationally. And today there is a police-involved shooting. This is going on right now in Moonachie, New Jersey. Let's go ahead and take a look at Sky Fox. Sky Fox over the scene. This is live video here. Oh, it's not live? I thought this was live. This is from about 20 minutes ago. So Sky Fox was over the scene. about 20 minutes ago in Moonachie, New Jersey. Again, a police-involved shooting. My colleague, Teresa Priolo, is at the scene right now. And Teresa, can you hear me okay? Yeah. Hi, Linda. Can you hear me? I've got you. Yeah. So we first got reports of this police-involved shooting about five o'clock tonight. Bring me up to speed here. What exactly is going on? Linda, we are short on details at this time. And that might be because we are hearing this involves a New Jersey state trooper. Let me tell you what I know. Please understand that we are looking for more information as the night goes on. We have put in calls to not only the governor's office, but state police, local police. We are trying to ascertain what actually happened in this industrial park. But here's what I know right now at seven o'clock. I am on West Commercial Avenue in Moonachie, on the border of Moonachie and Carlstadt. So if you're familiar with this area, this is the Meadowlands area. Let me send your eyes over to the black SUV, not the one that's pulling in front of us, but the black SUV. I don't know if Paul, my photographer Paul, can zoom in on it. It has crashed into what looks to be maybe a ramp or some sort of concrete barricade in front of that building with the awning. We understand that car to be involved in some way to a police involved shooting that occurred around five o'clock. And when we say police involved shooting, what we really mean is trooper involved shooting. What we know definitively is that a state trooper was walking by and I said to him, can you tell me what happened here? He said, all I can tell you is police involved shooting. After that, you're going to have to wait for some information. We know that we believe that the trooper opened fire on a person who is associated with that vehicle and the person was hit in the upper body, possibly potentially from the shoulder up to the neck. We understand that that person was also transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, a level one trauma center, only about four miles away. Great hospital in terms of immediate emergency care. So that we understand is where the person went. What is the connection between that car and this trooper? What were they doing in the back lots of this industrial complex? We don't know. No one's talking about that yet. We're hoping that the governor's office or the attorney general's office or one of the numerous agencies.
