If you don't, you will die.
There's actors in here that'll hide behind things
and come out and scare you.
I hear a lot of people screaming in here all the time.
My name is Yvonne Hobrick,
and we're at the haunted town of Little Surmer.
It's an event we have every October
through usually three weekends, six nights,
where you get to come out,
you get on a ride,
you tour around to
usually around six themed haunted houses,
you ride the bus, you get off, you go through the house,
get back on the bus, go through the whole town.
Just imagine this place with clowns jumping out.
So there's some animatronics and then a lot of real people.
The clowns are always here.
There's always a clown house,
but it's a completely different house every year.
They even move buildings.
They build it different inside.
But that's one of the places everybody waits for every year.
Most of the work all year comes from our board of 10 people.
Everybody gets their family
or their friends to help them build their house.
And then we have actors come out every October to volunteer.
I think on average 40 to 50 a night.
The full ticket price of $25 this year,
and I think when we're sold out it's around 1,200 people,
so that money all goes to charity.
We don't take any of it.
What we used to do is we used our own money
to build the haunted houses, and that was getting pricey,
and then we started getting sponsors,
so any of the capital, expenditures,
or things you need to build your house comes from sponsors.
We are, to date, before we do this year, about $145,000 we've given.
I feel like that one stares at you.
We get a lot of screaming from those kind of people that scream,
but we mostly get a lot of compliments
on the amount of work we put into it.
This is our favourite time of year.
Like, I've loved Halloween since I was a kid,
and horror movies and all of the things,
and this way at least you can have fun,
do something you like, it's a lot of work,
lot of work and then at the same time raise
a lot of money for the community.
