Red Wings make MULTIPLE moves... WILD Wings trade Updates | Red Wings News

The Detroit Red Wings have made multiple roster moves, calling up a young goaltender. We have multiple injury updates affecting the team on their West Coast road trip. We also have multiple new updates on the Dylan Larkin and Simon Edvinsson trade sagas. And the Red Wings, out of nowhere, have one of the best rookies in the entire National Hockey League. We're going to break that all down and much more in this episode of Red Wings Digest. but before we get into all of that a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button we've noticed that about 85% of you guys who watch these videos on a regular basis are not subscribed to the channel which means you yes you are missing key updates on everything that's happening with the Red Wings every single day we're getting new updates on Dylan Larkin on Simon Edvinsson but at the same time the team is not out of it yet they are definitely not big 5-1 win yesterday but they've made some roster moves so JT Compher has been activated he was injured before and Michael Pastula has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins now this is an interesting one so Pastula was recalled by the Red Wings under emergency conditions because Daniil Tarasov tweaked something in practice that was ahead of their last game last night against the Vancouver Canucks and then JT Compher returning with the Red Wings on this road trip as well he was dealing with an injury, and Sheldon Dries was reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins as a result. Now, an interesting thing in this call-up, and what's happening with the team right now, and you can see this is kind of what it looks like the last couple of games, minus the goaltenders, which we'll get to in a second. Michael Pastula ended up making his NHL debut last night in the third period because John Gibson left due to an eye injury. They were calling it an upper body injury. I don't know why they just didn't say an eye injury, which is a little bit scary. But Mark, pretty big stuff here because you're going to have to trust these guys at some point and if you look at the comments we'll get some of the comments in a minute people wouldn't be mad if they traded John Gibson this year with Patsivage getting in there was no better game that game versus Vancouver was a complete dominant performance when it came to Detroit but now looking at this of course and with the injuries you have Teresoff that's out John Gibson who was sat down on the bench or just behind the bench going into the third after we've seen Patsiva come in this is now going to get interesting because if this is a young goaltender that has played outstanding in the AHL we've seen with Grand Rapids just last season if he comes in Teresoff already outplaying John Gibson you have the young goaltender and if he starts doing it I think it's just going to add fuel to the fire of a team which might be selling come deadline with the UFA goaltender that teams will probably still give up a piece for but now looking at this and with the goaltending trio that you have going forward of course in the AHL you have Trey Augustine your future goaltender no matter how you look at it that is the guy this organization wants as their number one for the year to come when it gets to that point so now it's interesting is John Gibson on his way out is there going to be a situation like you said where they're going to start fielding calls they had to make decisions and of course John Gibson is not a top priority you have a lot more to deal with right now that you know we've talked about quite some time but now looking at the goaltenders i think there's going to be an interesting door because Ostman didn't look terrible in that game and of course it was his first time stepping in and Vancouver is a very bad team but nonetheless a goaltender that came in and got that win and like i said if we take a look at some of the comments from the last couple days some people are saying that they would take a dozen eggs for John Gibson in a trade return which uh in all seriousness uh you know he's worth a little bit more than that he hasn't been that great this season he was one of the reasons why they were so great last season until the very end but at the end of the day i think it's going to be interesting to monitor if they do end up wanting to trade before we get into these trade reports mark because there's obviously more coming down on Dylan Mart and what's happening with that including an interesting update on the Minnesota Wild specifically MBN i want to take a second to talk about one of the best rookies in the National Hockey League in MBN so he is now tied with Ivar Stenberg for the NHL rookie points lead with eight after his second assist last night he's been unbelievable and he's a guy that now has eight points right and he's a guy that was called up last season and didn't do much and we were here on the channel saying man we're rooting for him all that type stuff looks like a great prospect ripping up the AHL looks too good for the AHL and now it's coming to fruition now it's looking really good in the NHL and like i uh you know just mentioned like that was uh you know up on screen he is now tied for first in the NHL and there's some great company behind him Connelly with the Vegas Golden Knights has been really good too and obviously got them kind of right behind them so uh some great company there but no he's right there at the top and uh he's playing very well and he's earned his opportunity i think with his play so uh you know he's been very very good so now let's get into some trade actually before we get into the trades mark any thoughts on MBN because you know again he's a guy that we were talking about on the channel very you know passionately in the summer about like hey this guy they need him to take a step because guys like JBR and all these bodies that you know Todd McClellan called him last year weren't going to be returning they needed him to take a step he's taking a step I mean looking at the rookie race we said it last year he had it figured out at every level except for the NHL looking at this he actually has the highest point per game pace compared to Iverson and Merck who's played 11 games he's at 10 this is an incredible story I guess again there's so much negativity around this team it's hard not to have it with the way the management's going but there's a lot of positivity and mbn is one of the biggest stories in the nhl right now with a young guy making the push getting into the lineup winning the spot in camp and serious he's having a hell of a season and i'm excited to see how he continues to progress because genuinely a huge part of the future moving forward i'm not gonna say he's gonna be a hundred point player but guys like this are hitting gold and i genuinely think this is a team that found one of those diamond in the rough definitely yeah so guys let us know how about all that in the comments below now we got to talk about Simon Evanson and dylan larkin because we do every single day mark it's just uh you know something that we just do at this point so Elliot Friedman reported this morning that i think unless Sean O'Rourke gets blown away by a trade offer his position is wait wait wait wait it out now you can only wait so long because there is a december 1st deadline for RFAs if you do not sign Simon Evanson before december 1st he's not going to play for anybody this season so um you know he said i think Horkov is prepared to wait and see if he'll change his mind so the player wants to be traded Sean Horkov saying I'll wait my question is if you wait till December 1st and he doesn't play how does that help the situation at all for the team for the player I don't know how that helps the situation the other thing is and I mentioned this and you know people are commenting on our videos about it it doesn't make sense the way that the team is going about this you need to pay him more than Mo Sider because that's where the market is at when Mo Sider signed his contract that's where the market was at when Mo Sider's contract was expired that he's going to sign for big big money because the market will be different than today where we stand today but the market has changed since Sider has signed his contract so as a result Evanson makes more it's just basic math it's just logic and this team does not operate with that so it's very frustrating for fans so mark what do you make of that new report because it just sounds like they're willing to wait it out i think it's kind of kind of absurd and besides that we have more updates on Larkin which this team is just so confused I mean with this you might as well get your best value I can understand from that standpoint but that best value and waiting it out should have been the deadline for the season start not a month into the season there is where there's still no traction we're getting new teams added to the list that of course help you have Utah stepping in the New Jersey Devils just got super interesting because Sunny Meadow over there just proved that they went out to get Connor Hellebuyck that is a team willing to make some shakeups and i honestly think with them not giving up many picks in that of course they give up some good players that's a team to keep an eye on for maybe they want to just add that full team usa group together and they have a bunch of it already but with this with the trade offers i'm sure there's some great ones coming in and i can't tell if this is one of the things where chris ilitch has sat down goes into chat gpt what is dylan larkin worth the top value and then he gets it and he won't move off that but at this point i mean he's using chat gpt for his linkedin post so it's probably a good chance this was happening this is a team that i understand waiting but the waiting game should have been a deadline of start of season you're almost into november with this guy still on the team i just think at this point it's hard to look at this management and expect them to do something good with the way it's been managed so far like you said there's been so much negativity you know around this team we try to bring some positives out of it Victor Arvidsson we're not even going to talk about in this video but he's been unbelievable i mean what a parting gift from Steve Yzerman he's been great and then MNB's been great there's some positives to pull out of this and when you look at the Atlantic Division when you look at what's happened since the the drop of the puck the red wings nobody in this division is out of it like the red wings are not out of it yet i was expecting to perform quite poorly this season i have to be honest but even though they're at the bottom there i mean to get back into fourth you just have to put up two uh four points right like nobody's really out of it if you look at the western conference it's like two separate leagues right so they are definitely not out of it yet and they can put something together here so it's going to be interesting if they end up making a trade but uh again obviously last it doesn't look good but uh still a lot of uh runway here for uh for the team now last thing to get into an update on Dylan White like so from chris johnson i think it's getting a little closer to where you can see a resolution i will not be surprised if actually The ultimate place that Larkin plays Is not one of the 10 teams listed So now he's saying that this could be a surprise There could be a surprise in store for us Where he could end up somewhere that we haven't Been told he's going to end up Now obviously From Pierre LeBrun today as well He said that, hey Minnesota, they've been making A lot of offers, in fact, they're the only Team that's put the most offers on the table They are trying to get Dylan Larkin They are a team that we talked about the other day The sentiment is, how badly do you want Dylan Larkin In these trade negotiations they're a team that badly wants him so um and then Chris Johnson saying we're gonna have a resolution soon one thing that keeps confusing me and you can see this i saw this tweet this morning too you look at all the behind the scenes videos mark he seems like genuinely happy to be there with the guys so i wonder if it really is ownership where he's like i just can't play here anymore i just can't play for this ownership because i don't know what we're doing here but it does seem like he genuinely gets along with the guys but at the same time you know you might see some shade from Mo Side or a lot of people are speculating on that on twitter right and you know he was stripped of the captaincy and and all that type of stuff i don't know if he's just you know just like hey i'm in the situation with the team i might as well get along with the boys and try to do something here and obviously you know the rough stuff in the first couple games of the season but do you have any final thoughts on this because again minnesota is making a lot of offers sounds like he could get traded here very shortly a lot of insiders are saying that uh but at the same time there's there's some people speculating that maybe he does want to stick around but maybe it's just ownership where he's like i just don't know what the direction of this team i mean i feel like it's not any hate towards the players in this locker room there might be some beef we know every team has it we've seen it with guys from vancouver and jt miller getting into that quinn hughes leaving there as well but with this i don't think it has anything to do with the team i think it's just truly the direction which to be fair fans are not happy about the direction and the way this team has been ran over the past couple of years so i feel like again it's nothing to do with the fans it's nothing to do with the players it has to lean back on what we thought was steve but I think it's genuinely ownership that gets too many seasons in this and i'm sure dylan larkin says hey this is a team that has not made the playoffs you haven't proven to me that we're going to make the push for the playoffs it sucks to say that he's leaving but maybe the guy just sees grass is greener on the other side which again we hate that he's even in this situation but at the end of the day it's got to be something with Chris Ilitch in my mind it might be and you can see fans already saying hey we're in last place trade Larkin trade Edvinsson don't take on any more money and go give McDavid the biggest contract in the NHL people already talking about it but uh in all seriousness it seems like something could be coming to a head very shortly here for the Red Wings and for the fan's sake you know with all of this hanging over uh the team it's hard to perform right look what the Ottawa Senators are doing with him i feel like we bring it up every video either myself or yourself we bring it up every video the Ottawa Senators are playing free right now because they've removed that cloud even though it wasn't like a super negative thing it's just uncertainty you don't know and they remove that cloud and now they're off to the races right and they're playing very well and they may end up making the playoffs when a lot of people were writing them off at the start of the season so maybe if you just remove the distractions whether that is trading them or just figuring out what you're going to do with them in Simon every single day we're going to get a signing going here let's do this instead of having an internal cap get that sorted out and hopefully the team can get back to playing hockey because in this division you are not out of it yet and you're going to start playing teams that are worse than you right like you're going to start playing teams from the western conference the bottom of the western
