Over the past week, Russian troops have intensified local assaults in the Huliapole direction, taking advantage of deteriorating weather to advance with small infantry groups. The enemy is attempting to accelerate its advance into the outskirts of the regional center and block it. Ukrainian units of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps are holding off the attacks and inflicting casualties on the occupiers, despite the enemy's deployment of infantry, motorcycles, and armored vehicles.

This was reported by the Telegram channel of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps, which described the current situation on this section of the front. According to the channel, several combined arms armies and an army corps of the occupying forces are simultaneously operating against Ukrainian units in the 7th Airborne Assault Corps' area of responsibility.

The enemy's main tactic remains deep infiltration by small groups of one to five fighters, attempting to pass through a five-kilometer zone in front of the combat line, periodically using motorized vehicles for movement.

"In the last week, with the deteriorating weather, the enemy began to carry out localized assaults, using infantry, motorcycles, and armored vehicles," the statement said.

According to these reports, Ukrainian forces recently destroyed a group from the Russian Federation's 22nd Separate Guards Special Forces Brigade—a unit subordinate to the Russian GRU that participated in two Chechen wars and special missions in Ukraine from 2014 to 2022—in one area. For a long time, the Russians also accumulated armored vehicles within a 20-kilometer zone of the conflict.

According to the report, intelligence indicates that units of the 5th Tank Brigade, 37th Motorized Rifle Brigade, and 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade have completed training at training grounds and are ready to deploy their equipment in the enemy's main attack zone. This is a key area for Russia in southern Ukraine, so the occupiers are deploying a sufficient number of personnel to replace combat losses.

The 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Troops in the Huliapole direction, recently assigned to this section of the front, is stabilizing the zone and preventing the enemy from bypassing Orekhov and reaching the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia. The new command received the zone in extremely dire condition and has already made its first fundamental decision: an audit of the forward positions. Brigades previously operating in the former Huliapole direction have now come under the operational control of the 7th Corps. Meanwhile, the "home" brigades of the 7th Corps itself remain subordinate to other corps and continue to carry out missions in their previous areas of responsibility.
