Ukrainian Armed Forces refuted yet another Russian hoax about the seizure of Ukrainian settlements. Servicemen from the 128th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade "Wild Field" recorded a video message from Malokaterynivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. In a video posted on Facebook , a Ukrainian soldier holding a brigade flag against the backdrop of the administration building addressed the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army, Valery Gerasimov. " Greetings to Gerasimov and the other storytellers. You say you've captured Malokaterynivka, but we're here in the center of the village. Keep lying to your... Malokaterynivka is Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine! Moscow will fall ," promised a Wild Field fighter. The 128th Brigade noted that the 71-year-old Russian Army general's claims about Russian troops being 5 km from Zaporizhzhia are untrue. In fact, the southern border of the city is approximately 25 km from the line of contact.
As a reminder, media reported that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already refuted Valeriy Gerasimov's claims about the occupation of 92 settlements.
Russian generals once again submitted false reports to Vladimir Putin about their successes at the front, claiming to have captured 92 settlements. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied this information. " This is not true. In fact, thanks to the proactive actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces since the beginning of autumn, they have liberated more territory than the enemy managed to capture ," Speaker Andriy Kovalev emphasized. The major singled out Valery Gerasimov's speech, claiming it was "built on outright lies, exaggerations, and manipulation." It was the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army who lied about the 1,800 square kilometers of captured territory, including Dobropillia. Kovalev pointed out that this is not the first time Russia has mistaken wishful thinking for reality. Vladimir Putin also announced the capture of Svyatogorsk on September 1, until the head of the 3rd Army Corps, Andrei Biletsky, refuted the Kremlin's claims. As of October 17, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to defend Konstantinovka, Kramatorsk, and Alekseevo-Druzhkovka.
