Just on the playoff thing, what is interesting?
I sound like I love the...
The problem is I don't love the 2014 playoff.
I guess I'm just trying to be like an optimist.
It is good for coaching.
Both of these...
But people would say, oh, come on,
Michigan will never miss the playoff again.
Penn State will never miss the playoff again.
100% both of these teams would be in danger
of missing a 2024 playoff this year.
Like, and Mike, by the way,
like we might sit down, do end of season rankings,
and both of these teams miss the 2014 playoff.
But I think if you are Michigan,
it is a lot easier to say like Penn State made
a decision to get rid of James Franklin
because they felt he was no longer good enough for their program
and they thought that Matt
Campbell would be the answer you can't bail
on that in one year like at the end of the day
Fickell might finally turn this thing around
for Wisconsin they gave him they gave him a while
which I think you should
but I I really don't think it's an issue to give a guy like Luke
Fickell you got out of Cincinnati a while okay we might turn
this thing around if you're Michigan
you weren't trying to fire your head coach a lot
of things happened you had no you had no choice
you did the best you could in bringing in Whittingham
but it has been exclusively bad
and if we look back guys all of the selling points
on Kyle Whittingham really were well he's not
Sherrone Moore like the people
who believed in Michigan's take wasn't even we love Kyle it's
just Sherrone was that bad not for all these other you know focus
and all this other stuff I don't
think moving off Whittingham
is an overreaction it's probably Michigan being honest that this
isn't who they were supposed to end up with right not to mention the AD
who hired him is no longer
the AD so a new AD is going to want to bring
in his own person to begin with i just don't understand
how the Michigan program settled on Whittingham
because he was successful at Utah it's fine he's
not successful in the Big Ten and he's not successful
and he's older and he's not a Michigan
guy they were so adamant that he wasn't Sherrone Moore
and he wasn't Harbaugh and he wasn't a
Michigan guy well you know what Michigan guys work
at Michigan it works they win national titles when
they have Michigan guys i understand they wanted
to get away from Michigan that's not the way to
do it to go get Kyle Whittingham i
didn't like the hire from the beginning
