How to Make Gummy Worms
Slimy, yet satisfying.
What You Need:
For every individual color:
Small box of any flavor gelatin (usually in 4 1/2 oz. box)
2 TBL unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup water
Cornstarch for dusting molds
Gummy candies! And I like making them in the shape of gross things like bugs. Here’s how you make some.
First, dust whatever mold you’re using with cornstarch. Tap out the excess.
Now, in a small bowl, combine a small box of gelatin, any flavor and color. Add two tablespoons of unflavored gelatin. Mix to combine.
Add your gelatins to a small pot, add 1/2 cup of water and allow to bloom for ten minutes.
Now melt your gelatin until just dissolved on very low heat. Once it is dissolved, pour it into something with a pour spout.
Assemble all the colors you want!
Pour your gelatin into your prepared mold. I like swirling colors together. If your jello sets up on you in the bowl, microwave for 10 seconds intervals in the microwave and it should be pourable again.
Once your mold is filled allow to set at room temp or in the freezer if you want them quicker.
If you have extra, you can pour it into a small sheet lined with parchment and let it set up. Take a pizza cutter to it when its set and boom. Gummy Roll Ups!
Once your bugs are set, unmold them and store them in an airtight container for a few days. If they last that long.
