How to Make Carne Asada Tacos
Easy and satisfying tacos like the kind you get from your favorite grease truck.
What You Need:
2 LBS skirt steak
4 green onions
1/4 cup cilantro
3 garlic cloves, peeled
1 jalapeno
1 TBL chili powder
1 TBL brown sugar
1/2 TBL salt
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup olive oil
To serve:
Warm corn tortillas
Minced cilantro + red onion
Some of Mom’s salsa (or your favorite)
Carne Asada Tacos need no introduction. Here’s how you make some.
In a large blender, place some green onions, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, lime juice and olive oil.
Blend until completely smooth.
Get some skirt steak and put it in a zip top bag. Pour your marinade into it, seal it up and mash it up so it gets covered in the marinade. Put it back in the bowl and allow it to marinate for 4-8 hours. More is okay too.
Heat up a large pan to high and grease with a little oil. Slap on the steaks and cook a few minutes on each side, or until beautifully golden. Remove to a clean plate while you do the rest.
Chop them up real fine.
Get some warm tortillas. Top them with your chopped meat. Some red onion. Some cilantro. Some salsa and serve with lime wedges. All you need now is an ice cold Mexican coke!
