All right, we go from traffic to weather.
Mike Thomas is here on what has been a very rainy day.
It's calmed down a little bit, but it's
still wet, still damp out there.
It's still a little damp out there, and it probably will
be through tomorrow morning,
and then we're going to kind of do two seasons in one day,
where we get sunny, bright, summer.
Just the way we like it.
We got Kenneth called it pneumonia weather.
I had never heard that term before until yesterday.
Now I've heard it, too.
Oh, see?
Kenneth, if you're watching in the back, it wasn't just me.
I've always called it like flu weather, right?
It does kind of almost drive you crazy in terms of,
you know, not being able to adjust properly
because we're going from 80s and then we'll dive down overnight,
kind of tomorrow night into early Saturday morning.
Some folks will wake up in the 40s,
so it'll be a chilly start to the day.
On Saturday and then afternoon highs only in the 50s.
We're going back and forth in a big way here.
Do have to watch out for some thunderstorms in between that as well.
Some could even be on the strong and severe side.
There's your temps across the area right now.
Westminster, Frederick, Martinsburg, all 58.
So is Cumberland, Hagerstown at 57.
Winchester, chilly tonight already at 55.
Some drizzle around the region.
Gaithersburg's at 58.
D.C. at 62.
Linden Town sitting at 63 degrees.
And compared to even this time last night,
most locations 10 to 20 degrees cooler already.
But we will turn these numbers around again
as we get into tomorrow afternoon.
There's your satellite and radar.
And as Jim correctly mentioned, there's a decent amount
of drizzle out across the D.C. region right now.
Those are those lighter blues that you see here on satellite and radar.
Nothing too heavy, to be completely honest with you.
It's just kind of damp and drizzly across the D.C. region.
Big picture showing you calmer conditions to the south.
That area, high pressure near Atlanta.
Actually quite a warm one.
They had highs in the 90s across parts of the southeast this afternoon.
And we'll taste some of that warmth after
this front will turn into a warm front overnight.
Gets through here about 8, 9 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Right on the other side of it, we'll clear out pretty rapidly here.
Have bright sunshine early afternoon before
this cold front in the back starts coming in
and gives us another chance for some showers and some storms.
There's your 8 o'clock or 8.30 hour tomorrow morning.
Still has a couple of sprinkles and showers here.
Shouldn't be all that wet in the morning.
We get into the lunchtime hours.
Look at that bright sunshine, maybe full-on sunshine there.
Temperatures really jump into the 80s.
We'll go, and then our eyes will go to the west.
where that cold front starts working its way in,
hits the I-81 corridor about 4 or 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
And yet some of these cells, you can kind of tell,
have some intensity on future casts.
We are outlooked across parts of the D.C. region
for a slight risk of severe weather,
which is not something we get too often this time of year
when we're not talking about post-tropical remnants
crossing the D.C. area.
6, 7 o'clock, they're sliding on through the I-95 corridor.
The front then sort of gets hung up just to our south and east.
So more rain showers can kind of fill in on the backside.
Those, of course, wouldn't be severe, but tomorrow evening could
be a little damp across parts of the D.C. region.
That could linger into Saturday morning.
And then finally, Saturday afternoon, skies clear,
but it'll be gusty and it'll be chilly here in Washington.
There's that severe risk I mentioned,
marginal for areas south and east D.C. to the north, slight risk.
And there is even a possibility,
especially up in Pennsylvania, that there could be one
or two areas that have to deal with an isolated tornado.
We'll talk more about the cool this weekend
and how long that's going to last coming up.
That's seven days later in the show.
Stick around.
Jim and Angie.
