FFA leader in Porter killed in crash

Back on Fox here tonight, an 18-year-old known for his leadership roles with the FFA organization in the Porter area dies in a car crash just a week before his 19th birthday. Fox 26's Randy Wallace spoke to his parents tonight. Joining us now in the studio, Randy. Yeah, Anthony. Now, this past Sunday, Hunter Cash Jeter died in an accident on State Highway 99 in Cypress. He remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The teen touched a lot of people in his short life. He was kind of known in the FFA circle throughout Porter. Yeah, all through high school. He was the president for two years in a row. He just was a part of the FFA massively. Being president of FFA, I was so proud of him. A week shy of his 19th birthday, he's taken Devastating. It still hasn't fully hit me, and I know it's going to, and I'm probably going to be hospitalized. life because I'm not healthy at all so it's really weird but not to be strong for my other kids you went through a lot at the beginning of this year you barely survived, died twice and I pulled my trach out but I tried to survive for my kids and then I was robbed one of them you know when I heard I just collapsed on the floor you know and I just told him I gotta go this is I'm not gonna be here right now. So I'm taking the next couple of two weeks off to mourn for him. It's been the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life. Never been able to see him again. He had so much life ahead of him. And he had so many goals. And he wanted to join the Marine Corps. He wanted to go to UT, get his degree, and join the Marine Corps as an officer. So I know he was looking forward to that. And he'll never get it now. Had his whole life in front of him. His whole life. He never stopped. Like, he got these jobs. He's got his girlfriend. He's going to get married. Like, he's living so fast, you know. And it's like, it just, all of a sudden, it just stops. And it's just, it sucks that, you know, the good ones get taken so quickly. It will be a celebration of life for Hunter Jeter Sunday in New Caney. We'll have the specifics for you on our website. Randy Wallace, Fox 26 News.
