In the Russian city of Samara, missile strikes occurred overnight into Saturday, August 15. It is reported that Russia’s aerospace industry may have been hit — most likely the Central Specialized Design Bureau Progress. The possible missile strike was indirectly hinted at by Fire Point co-owner Denys Shtilerman — he posted a photo and video of a missile launch on X. It is not yet known whether it was the Flamingo. It is indicated that the main strike likely hit TsSKB-Progress; however, AviaСor, which is engaged in the repair and modernization of aircraft, is located nearby — the explosion may also have affected the territory of this enterprise.
Regional Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev announced a missile strike on an "industrial enterprise" in the city. He stated this on his Telegram.
According to Fedorishchev, information about the impact of the strike is currently being clarified. However, he did not specify which enterprise he was referring to. According to the Exilenova+ Telegram monitoring channel, the Aviakor aircraft plant or the nearby TsSKB-Progress rocket-building enterprise could have been hit.
The State Research and Production Space Rocket Center TsSKB-Progress is one of Russia’s leading enterprises involved in the development, production, and operation of medium-class launch vehicles. The enterprise also manufactures automated spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth. In total, more than 1,700 launch vehicles and 950 spacecraft developed by TsSKB-Progress were launched.
