A high-profile accident involving a luxury supercar occurred in Yekaterinburg, Russia. A Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica sports car veered off the road onto the sidewalk and rammed a residential building on Otradnaya Street at high speed. As a result of the violent collision, two people who were near the building at the time sustained varying degrees of injury. The accident and the number of casualties were officially confirmed by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.

According to preliminary data from Russian media, David Altushkin was driving the expensive foreign car. The young man is the son of renowned Russian billionaire Igor Altushkin, who founded the Russian Copper Company. Journalists have discovered that the supercar is registered to a commercial entity closely associated with the businessman's family, and that David himself has been behind the wheel of this car on numerous occasions. However, police are currently refraining from publicly naming the driver in official reports.

One of the victims in this incident was 23-year-old Timur Khalilov. The young man is a participant in the criminal war against Ukraine and had arrived in Yekaterinburg for medical treatment. He was using crutches when he was struck by a car.

Khalilov suffered serious injuries, including broken ribs, a closed head injury, and multiple bruises, and was immediately hospitalized. A former professional boxer, in 2025, he was implicated in a kidnapping case in Samara, after which he was sent to the war zone.

Eyewitnesses reported that the supercar struck two rental electric scooters before colliding with the apartment building. Video footage posted online shows a young man standing near the car helping one of the injured pedestrians after the crash. According to the Baza channel, the wrecked Lamborghini was escorted by an SUV with security guards, and immediately after the impact, the damaged car was quickly covered with a thick black sheet. Law enforcement officials are currently determining the exact cause and circumstances of the incident.

The driver's father, Igor Altushkin, is one of Russia's richest entrepreneurs as the founder of the Russian Copper Company. Due to his business's close integration with the military industry and his support for the military operations against Ukraine, he is subject to strict international sanctions from the US, UK, and the European Union. Igor Altushkin is known as an "Orthodox oligarch"—he financed the construction and restoration of churches in the Sverdlovsk region. Forbes estimated his net worth at $4.9 billion; his wife and one of his sons hold British citizenship. In 2024, Altushkin was placed on the EU sanctions list.
