In Moscow, two generals were apparently buried on the same day, August 5. Following news of a secret burial at Troekurovskoye Cemetery, the funeral of Lieutenant General Igor Yerusalim, who lived in the Solntsevo district, was also announced on Wednesday. A blogger writing on the X platform under the nickname Necro Mancer drew attention to the corresponding messages in local public groups.
According to published information, the farewell ceremony took place on August 4, and the funeral was scheduled for August 5. The lieutenant general was 53 years old. A message in a local Telegram group calls him a "hero of the SVO," suggesting he was directly involved in Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.
According to publicly available data, in 2020, Yerusalim served as Chief of Operations of the Western Military District Headquarters. Later, in 2024, he was mentioned in Rosreestr documents as the head of the operational department – first deputy chief of staff of the Moscow Military District. He received the rank of major general shortly before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, and in 2025 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
As previously reported, on August 5, the website "VChK-OGPU" reported on the secret funeral of a high-ranking military officer with the rank of major general, whose name was not disclosed, at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery. The report claimed that the general may have died in the explosion at the Moscow restaurant Balzi Rossi last week, where the birthday of Russian Aerospace Forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Chaiko was being celebrated. Considering that in the first case we are talking about a major general, and in the second – about a lieutenant general, and also considering that the news item “VChK-OGPU” talks about the secrecy of the funeral, and in the second case the funeral was reported on social networks, it can be assumed that we are talking about two different generals, but it is impossible to say for sure.
Among those killed in the explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in central Moscow on August 1 was Danylo Peredriy—the son-in-law of Alexander Chaika, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Maria Chaika, the daughter of Alexander Chaika, an army general of the aggressor state Russia, may also have been injured. This was reported by the Russian publication “Verstka,” citing a source close to the restaurant’s management.
