Russian dictator Vladimir Putin shows no signs of peace. On the contrary, he intends to escalate the war and is preparing to accept an additional 30,000 North Korean troops, as well as North Korean ballistic missile launchers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the relevant information. According to the head of state, preparations for the reception of new North Korean military personnel have been underway in the Voronezh region since June. "We also see Russia’s cooperation with North Korea. Russia wants to receive another 30,000 troops from North Korea," Zelenskyy said. "Since June, preparations have been under way in Russia’s Voronezh region to receive them."
According to estimates, Pyongyang already has transferred about 12,000 troops to Russia's Kursk border region, under a mutual defense pact signed with Moscow in 2024.
Over the course of the four-year war, Russian President Vladimir Putin has increasingly relied on North Korea to supply artillery shells and missiles. Bringing in North Korean troops is raising concerns about Moscow transferring its own military know-how to the regime of Kim Yong Un in Pyongyang. "Russia is helping North Korea learn how to wage war, improve its weapons, and gain real combat experience in using them," Zelenskyy said. "All of this is a threat to everyone in Asia who is within range of North Korean missiles. We will counter this," he said.
Russia is helping the DPRK military improve its warfare skills and modernize its weapons. In this regard, military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang threatens not only Ukraine, but also other countries, particularly those in Asia. Moreover, the Ukrainian leader again pointed to intelligence data according to which the Russian regime is preparing to expand mobilization in Russia. The President cited data on losses and reinforcements of the Russian army for the first seven months of this year. According to him, during this period, 221 thousand people joined the Russian occupation forces, while losses amounted to almost 225.5 thousand, 131 thousand killed and almost 93 thousand wounded.
As previously reported , Zelenskyy stated the day before that Ukrainian intelligence has clear information about Russia's plans to conduct another wave of mobilization in Russia. "We have clear intelligence information that Russia is preparing a new wave of mobilization for the fall, a fairly significant one," the president stated. The President noted that Russian troops are currently losing more troops on the front than they can recruit. At the same time, Putin intends to expand the war, so he needs new occupiers to participate in the assaults. In this regard, the head of state emphasized the need for Ukraine's preventive response at all levels. This includes actions at the front, long-range strikes, and diplomacy. According to the president, the Ukrainian side is committed to communicating with everyone who can bring peace closer.
