BAM! Bill, Alex, and Mike. On the airwaves, giving what you like. Topics on fleek.
11 o'clock every day of the week. Sweet! BAM! Let's go! It's the Wednesday edition.
The team is kind of here. I'm here, Alex is here, and we called on Tyrone to come
and join us. No, you say we called Tyrone. Yeah, but I don't know if I want to say that.
You can say it. Well, if you're gonna say called on, might as well say it how she says it.
Should we sing it? Can we sing it? But I'm sure you get that all the time. It was problematic when I was a
teenager. There's a lot of called Tyrone. And then people didn't realize that the song was,
the trifling person was not Tyrone. Right. Tyrone's the friend. That's the friend. Okay.
Yeah, you couldn't explain that until some of the ladies go out, and they say,
I'm not gonna get rid of Tyrone. I'm like, Tyrone was not the problem. You know, I actually haven't
even thought that far. That's a good point. You just think about the name. It's just the name.
Yeah, Tyrone's the guy who was supposed to help you come get your stuff. Right. I have a working
vehicle. See, justice for Tyrone. That's right. There you go. Tyrone Johnson, media personality,
sports journalist, doing a daily show in New York now, after you fleed the scene in Philly.
Well, listen, I'm looking to come back, though. So yeah, I'll come back in a second. You know,
you call it bant. I'm here. Just add a graphic pop up here. So appreciate you coming in.
I appreciate you coming in, because they have been running you.
Yeah, I've been sick. I'm just hoping my voice will last for this next 30 minutes.
They did like 12 hours yesterday, or some extended period of time.
But it's been nonstop since the summer started. You know, so.
You was on about 16 hours on the fourth. Oh, yeah, that was the longest.
That was the hoot. Yeah, the fourth was a day. It was all good. All right, we got lots of topics
we're going to jump into. Wait, they didn't tap you yesterday? You know the drill. Yeah,
I was on yesterday. Oh, so you too, man. Yeah, but I only had to do an hour yesterday.
Oh, well, then, yeah, never mind. So it was, because Bam actually was off yesterday,
because you did an extra hour. Well, no, I did more than an extra hour, but yeah.
Well, you did that hour. Yeah, thank you. Give me my pockets.
Call Tyrone. He's here to help. Tyrone, help me out now.
That's right. He's got your back. All right, we've got all kinds of questions,
but we've got you here, sports guy, among other things. I want to ask, do we want LeBron?
Yes. Okay. Are we actually going to get LeBron? I think right now it's 50-50. Do you really?
I really do. 50-50. I think it's a coin flip. I think it's a coin flip for a couple of reasons.
Number one, it's a legacy play. And number two, it makes sense basketball-wise. Now,
the legacy play part of it is simply if he was going to win another championship,
he already won one in Cleveland. Two doesn't really matter. He's won a couple in Miami and
been to the finals for it four times in Miami. Sixers haven't won since 83. You saw the reaction
to the Knicks, and they had won since 73. You go to 1983 in Philadelphia and LeBron brings
the championship, forget about it. That's the legacy play for LeBron. He now brought one to
the land and brought one to Philly. You can't top that. He'd be a hero in Philly forever if you do
that. Forever. And he'd have to be, on a many nights, he could be the fifth best player. Now,
not with the whole, but over the whole regular season, there could be times where it's VJ's
times, obviously Maxie and B, Jalen Brown, and he fills in. And then all he needs in the playoffs
is some moments. And we know he's still capable of having moments. This is the situation. I'm
being serious. This is not homerism or anything like that that makes the most sense basketball-wise,
kind of by a wide margin, and he doesn't have to play with James Harden.
Yeah, that's another part. Because he could be, even with all of the talent here,
I was thinking he could be the guy who has the ball in his hands when he wants it. Because we
don't really have a dominate the ball point guard. You've got guys who need the ball,
but he could start things for the Sixers. All right, I'm buying in.
There's a basketball reason, and then the legacy part of it. It would mean more to win a championship
here than any of the realistic places he would go. But if he's finishing out his career,
it would also make sense to go home. I'm coming home and close it out here, kind of thing.
But he left home twice for a reason. Yeah, he don't live there no more.
Every time you follow you on social media, which people, everybody should be doing,
follow you, they see when you go back to Texas, right? And then you come back here. Now imagine
you go take a job in Texas. You're home. You're a pop-up every day. And then you say, you know
what, pop-up, I'm good. I'm out again. There must be a reason. You done went home. Why'd he leave
again? You've been out for a while too. One of the championships in Philly. You're on the number
one Good Day Philadelphia. I see what you're saying. But then there's the other part of,
there's the rumor, the underlying stuff that people say in the back that like,
athletes don't necessarily like to play here in Philly, right? Because we're so tough. And,
you know, he's been in all the fans, besides Cleveland, that's home. But the Miamis and the
LA and all that, like, Philly's great. But do we compare with that and the culture of Philly?
This is the thing. It's right in a way, if he wasn't already the most scrutinized NBA player
as it was. You see, if this was basically anybody else, I'd buy that completely,
because I have no choice but to buy it completely. But in the scenario that you just laid out there,
people are going to talk bad about him. There are people who are millionaires who made their
money in large part by criticizing him. They should be writing him 10% of their check. Like
a guy like Skip Bayless, for example, to name a name. I'll say it. When he got his last contract
with the parent company of this, it was a large part of the money he generated and the attention
he generated from criticizing LeBron 24-7, 365. So he's used to it. He's used to this.
But the other part is what doesn't get talked about enough is it's the best city in the world
to win at. It's the best city to win. Oh, we'd go crazy. And if you're tough enough to take
the struggle, which I think he is, if you've taken it your whole life, since he was 17,
if you're tough enough to take the down, then the up is way up.
Way up. But it's the theatrics of it all, like clutch sports, right? He's aging. Oh,
my gosh. This is escaping me. Adele's man. Formerly known as poor Paul.
But like doing the whole dry erase board or putting up the option. I feel like he's done
masterfully with his career. Everything is calculated. I think they already know where
they're going. They're just drumming it up. Because that whole dry erase board thing,
I was like, OK. Yeah. But then why do you spend so much time making Philly look like such a great
fit on the dry erase board? Because it's fun. It gets people talking. It gets the money.
What? You got to be talked about. Isn't that the game? I want to believe. It's part of the game.
We're talking about the guy who did the whole decision. He knows about making a moment. So
you hating on raising money for the Boys and Girls Club? No, I'm just saying he knows how
to create moments. So I feel like he knows how to drum up suspicion. He's a true
entertainer, a star. And this is why it's hard. It's the whole Philly. We can't have nice things
mindset. And he did this to us before. I want to be wrong ourselves into it. We all want to be.
I think we all want to be wrong and want him here, although some people seemingly don't.
Why not? What would be the downside? Because it's just the LeBron haters.
No, he would be taking less money. Some people are allergic to winning. And they also overly
embrace the loser thing. Like it happened for a while with Chicago, with the Cubs. It happened
for a while with the Red Sox in Boston. There are certain people that once you get that lovable
loser thing, you really embrace that and take it to heart. You make that your identity. Too many
people in this city embrace that on multiple levels, but mainly that one. All right. I want
LeBron. You want LeBron? Yeah, I do. Absolutely. I'm just scared to get excited. That's all it is,
guys. I'm like, I don't want to get my hopes up. I've been hurt too many times. I'm not trying to
be right this time. You can't bring that baggage to every relationship.
Come on, therapist. That's your fault. Everything is fresh. Everything is new.
He didn't do nothing. He didn't do nothing wrong. Why am I paying the price for other people's
problems? He did what was best for his family at the time. And now the best thing is to come
here and get this championship. I love this. We're clipping this. We're going to tag LeBron in this.
That's right. Tell him Philadelphia wants you here. All right. We're going to take our first break,
but I want to show you so you can ponder during the break what our question of the day is.
I don't have any kids. You don't have any kids. You don't have any kids? Nope. Tyrone's got no
kids. So I'm going to ask all of us to imagine your kid's competing. Kid's young. How old? Seven
maybe? Okay. Young kid. JP, pull up the video. So your kid is competing in a wrestling meet.
Doing pretty well, right? He looks pretty good. He's getting the momentum. People are all there
involved. He's about to pin the other kid. Kid screams, I'm hurting. And here comes mom. Mom
on to the rest. All right. So let's take a break. We will come back. Could that have been your kid?
What are you doing? All right. Quick break. We'll be back on today. It's back. Bill, Alex,
call Tyrone here in the building. We'll be right back. It works after All-Star. We're right back.
There you go. We'll be right back.
Here we go. Continuing on with the discussion. It's back. Bill, Alex, Tyrone, Mike is off today.
Did we change the logo upstairs, JP? That fast? We went to work trying to come up with a new...
There you go. Look at that. Look at that. This all looks natural. Looks like it belongs there.
Very natural. Looks like you and Mike are matching. This is dangerous how quickly we
can change these things now as we jump in. All right. So you guys saw the video. Jay,
you can pull it back up upstairs if you want. The wrestling match is going on. The kid's doing well.
We have now seen it. Let's make you the parent of the child who was winning. Doing nothing wrong.
It's a wrestling match or meet or whatever they call it. This mom over there says, my son's hurt.
Get up off of him and snatches up the kid.
It's tough in a couple of ways. On the one hand, why are you putting your hands on someone else's
child who didn't do... Now it's one thing if it's out in the streets or something like that,
you pull the kid off your son or something like that. The problem is this is a sanctioned match
with the referee right there. It's right there. He's not in any danger. Losing and getting pinned
is part of wrestling. Crying and getting hurt is also part of something that you signed your son
up for, for whatever reason. Whether you wanted him to because you thought he was so tough or
because he wanted to do it. Any way you slice it though, that mom, in my opinion, she's got to be
charged. Really? She has to be charged because you're putting your hands on somebody else in
public. That's not allowed. Just because she's the adult, I don't think I can go up and just grip you
up or you up and just grab your leg and flip you around like that. I would be charged. Now, I don't
know if I would get jail time, but if there was footage... Misdemeanor assault. Yeah, something
like that. To me, she has to be charged and she's lucky that the mom couldn't get to her before all
the people jumped in between because my late mother would have been having to call the cops on
her. My mom's a little person, but she would have been all up in there too. Absolutely. But is there
any argument that the mom who's... She's clearly wrong. The mom who grabbed the child. Is there
any argument that it was just the emotional, my baby's hurt, so you jumped to the defense of your
baby? I mean, there's always a mother's instinct you want to protect your child, but
I mean, that is going really far. You're an athlete. Not in wrestling. I don't know a thing
about wrestling. But you're an athlete. Would you run track? Yes. In basketball. Before I realized
I was going to be short. Can you imagine Judge Holly or even Grandpop, somebody doesn't like something
you're doing and reaches out and grabs little Alex Holly? It just wouldn't happen. I mean,
when you're running track, you get bumped sometimes in track. It happens. At times you get jostled.
So a girl bumps you. But it wasn't even intentional. This was just the game.
And your mom then jumps up on the track and grabs you. That's what I mean. They were wrestling. Now,
if he kicked them or something like that, if you just grabbed a kid different, that was regular
wrestling. That looked exactly how it was supposed to look. Right. Except you were losing. Right.
Your son's going to lose. I remember my brother, I never wrestled because I wasn't about that. But
my brother wrestled and there would be times where he'd be winning, but he would get super tired
because he had asthma. And the third round, he'd start crying because he was losing.
My dad would let him take the L. What about the inhaler? Take the inhaler.
In the middle of the match. Well, okay. Again, I don't know anything about wrestling.
There's not a pause or like an intermission? Well, in between rounds.
That's so sad. What a disadvantage. Right. Well, he stopped wrestling. Can't we just like pause
and somebody to put it in your mouth and then... Don't feel bad. We got a football scholarship.
He was all right. Okay. But the wrestler, when they controlled the asthma, it turned out all
right for him. But during the matches, mono and mono like that, you're out there by yourself.
That's also sort of the point of those individual sports, whether it be tennis, whether it be
wrestling, it's just you versus that person. And sometimes you lose 6-0, 6-0, 6-love, 6-love. That's
part of it. And that's the life lesson that those sports are actually supposed to teach you.
You got to take it. And when mom jumps in, in the middle of that,
you're raising a little punk. Or just a mama's boy.
Okay. Same thing. Depending on how you define it.
If I get in a jam, mama's going to save me. Well, your mama can't save you forever.
In the middle of it. And if you never learned that, then you're going to have a problem. You
could get caught up out there looking around and nobody's there to help you.
Exactly. Charged.
I think you have to. Because how else do you discourage others from doing it?
Now again, I don't think she should get jail time. It's probably a ticket or whatever and a fine.
But now we know. Also, another punishment for her is she can't go to any more wrestling matches.
Ever. She got a lifetime ban.
Like the dad can still come, other guardians come, but you stay home because we can't trust
you to know how to act. It's an interesting point.
Because in any other sport, somebody ran on the basketball court, that's a problem. Somebody runs
in any other sport. And then it's a conversation here, I guess, because it was a physical
MMA. If you run in the cage because your kid's getting beat up,
what'd you put him in class for?
Exactly. And then the other part that there's an undertone with that particular one.
There are people who are claiming that it was racially based as well.
So that's another reason why removing her completely removes all of that talk completely.
She was punished. She will no longer be at any of these matches. Now again,
she still was mom, but sorry, dad has to bring them because you don't know how to act.
So that one was our question of the day. You can jump in. We're all tagged in it at Alex Holly TV
at Tyrone, Ty Johnson News.
Yes, sir. Ty Johnson News.
Ty Johnson News. I'm at Bill A Fox 29. Some of the comments, Dr. Timothy Fitts says,
yes, put her in a full Nelson. Just step back. Let the ref take care of it.
But unfortunately, the world is full of sore losers.
Oh, natural beauty says you went too far. This is wrestling.
You expect things like this to happen. Don't touch someone else's child, right?
If you don't like rough sports, then don't sign your kid up for it.
All right. There's a couple more. I'm Frank the barber. Don't touch my child.
Your kid knew what they signed up for. Exactly.
And pain makes you stronger.
Frank also acknowledges that Tyrone has the working car. So if anybody needs any help,
he got you. Wonder Woman jumps in and says, LeBron is not coming here.
See, that's what you see. That's why we can't have a nice thing.
OK, that's why you don't have anything. Why do you have that?
You wanted a four bedroom house. You're in a two bedroom house because of that mentality.
All right. We're going to take another break. We had another video.
We all know Scottie Pippen. Yeah.
Why do you say it like that?
I always thought he looked like he ran a hundred yard dash in a 90 yard gym.
Oh, my gosh.
Scottie is back out there. And when you see the video,
you'll understand exactly what he's talking about.
So Scottie's back out there because he's got a new girlfriend.
Yeah.
We happy for him.
I don't know anything about the girlfriend.
This is the reason it's drama. All right. Take a quick break.
We're going to show you Scottie's new girlfriend. He's very happy.
His kids, maybe not so much, but stay tuned.
That's not right, man. I love you. I love that you're here, man.
Shout out to Mike. Listen, I love Mike.
He's the one that didn't come to work.
It's a solid point. Jay, put the graphic back up. Now, I was out all week last week.
Nobody took my name.
You don't know what we did.
That's bad.
Were you watching?
That's true.
You weren't watching.
I was not. No, I had family stuff I had to deal with. So I was not in front of a TV.
Did you see him okay with it? I don't know what y'all did to me last week.
So he did. Oh, he did?
Jay just said it in the ear.
Now, why are you telling? Why is it controlled?
JP over here, tell him.
They changed it to damn.
Damn.
See, now I don't even feel bad. Put the bat back up on the screen.
We got some tattletales. You're not supposed to tell.
I was snitching around. I thought you don't live that world.
There you go.
Bill Alex and Tyrone.
Mike decides to come back, then, you know, bamped.
Figure it out.
He met whatever. All right. So more comments are coming in.
Oh, profanity. No.
Any hands on my child means I can put hands on you.
That ref would have got a mouthful too.
So the comments coming in, keep them coming on social media.
Follow all of us. We appreciate it.
Both Alex and Tyrone are really good followers on social media.
So and Bill.
I better join your TikToks too.
They follow you over there.
For some reason, on my algorithm, you're right at the top on TikTok.
Okay.
You must be the one.
It's not that.
Listen, it'll start growing. It'll start growing now.
I appreciate it.
At Bill A Fox 29.
All right, Scottie Pippen.
Yeah.
What'd you say?
A hundred yard dash.
No, don't make him.
Oh, yeah. A hundred yard dash and a 90 yard jump.
So Scottie.
Very.
Scottie has a new girlfriend.
Scottie is turning 61.
His new girlfriend, who we will pull up on the screen.
They were having a wonderful evening out together.
That's Scottie's new girlfriend, not his daughter.
That one right there.
That's Scottie's new girlfriend.
So he's 61.
She recently turned 23.
And now he's out there.
He's living his best life.
Scottie's doing his thing.
But some of the other current and former NBA players have had some things to say.
One was saying that she doesn't even know who Obama is.
She don't.
Others were saying he had 37 years of life before she was ever on Earth.
What could they possibly have in common?
Not a damn thing.
OK, Scottie, so you're not in the go ahead, pop pop category.
I can't do it.
And because she's not 30, my rule for all of these things are because Leonardo DiCaprio,
a lot of people do this.
Yep.
She's got to be 30.
Because at that point, she's lived a certain amount of life.
She has a certain amount of wisdom.
And if she wants to then do that, it's a mutual choice.
I can't help but think that outside of money, there's some manipulation here because.
Because you're five minutes out of college.
She doesn't know anything.
And what I mean by that is not that she's a dumb lady.
What I'm saying is we all know that I'm not going to speak to your age, of course,
but we're all smarter now than we were 23 years old.
OK, you learn about life.
You have life experience.
So if they're going to actually be boyfriend and girlfriend for real, when they get ready
to buy a house, what input is she going to have on the house?
What does she know about a house?
She don't know nothing about a house.
When she goes out to eat, you don't know what to eat and drink when you're 23 years old.
OK, I used to PBR used to be my main beer at one point because it's cheap.
You try to give me PBR now, I'm going to punch you in the face.
PBR and a shot over at some of the different bars.
I don't do that anymore because the PBR doesn't agree with me because of my age.
All right.
It upsets my stomach.
When you start ordering the drink that you want and not just the drink that's on special.
Right.
That's a certain point in your life.
What does she know about a whiskey?
What does she know about a vodka?
Like she's probably had it, but she doesn't know the good from maybe they're not doing
any talking.
So now you say my man is filled up because he's 60.
So they got to do some talking.
Unless he's out at events that wasn't just like going home at the events.
You're going to tell me that the energy of a 23 year old female and a 60 year old man
without any pills is equal.
You better cut that out.
You know, my man on pills.
Now you say he get out and sit there and lose character pills.
Now she got the pill box.
Honey, did you bring my pills?
That's all she's responsible for because she don't pay no bills.
So I'm right.
That's right.
What are you contributing to that relationship?
You're saying it's not stimulating conversation.
No.
Don't know nothing about life or what's going on.
He's paying all the bills.
You would assume she may be independently wealthy.
I don't know anything about her.
Hopefully.
I didn't check the college records.
So are you on the, are you okay with this?
It's none of my business.
It's like I'm staying out of it.
You know, I think she looks younger, which, you know, black don't crack.
So I think that doesn't help.
Okay.
So let me ask you, what is your favorite?
I know you have to get up early, but what's your favorite television show?
All time or today?
All time.
Or today, either one.
Just, just what TV show?
I do love the preacher's wife.
Yes.
So that came out the second.
Yes.
And all that.
So that means at best she was in elementary school when that movie came out.
So when you discuss that movie, how it hits her when she, when her parents made her watch it
versus you watching it.
Cause you enjoyed it.
And he's 61.
He's talking about Cooley high and Scarface and movies that she's probably like, who?
Exactly.
Like think about it.
He got drafted in the eighties.
So before she was in the league, he was pushing retirement from the league when she was born.
His last championship was in 1998.
So that was also before she was born.
And he's trying to keep up with his, with his ex.
We got to take our last break.
We'll be right back.
She does quick break.
We'll be right back to come back and wrap things up.
There's no support for pop pop Pippin.
It's a shame.
She looks really young, man.
It doesn't help.
It is just about time for us to get up out of here.
Tyro Johnson spending some time with us.
How can people find you on social?
Ty Johnson news follow me there on Twitter and on Instagram.
It's still Twitter to me.
I'm not ever going to call it that.
Okay.
You know that his radio show is so big time that they get a summer hiatus.
Oh, that sounds wonderful.
Well, in their best life.
As long as the check's still coming in the summer.
Yeah.
