Wow, what a day. Temperatures soaring to around 70 degrees
in most locations and tomorrow it's going to be another winter.
Speaking of winters, let's take you out to the Camden side and oh yeah,
there's the 76ers facility,
the practice facility looking good tonight after a victory in New York.
60 degrees in the city. Northeast winds right now, 12 miles an hour.
That's associated with the nor'easter.
Well offshore, but still impacting our shore communities.
High pressure dominating our weather, keeping us dry.
dry, keeping the storm away.
And that storm is just going to continue to spin, meander,
and then finally pull away Thursday into Friday.
But those main impacts, of course,
multiple rounds of tidal flooding at time of high tide.
But the difference with this storm
versus our last nor'easter is it's going to be minor tidal flooding.
High seas due to that
persistent northeasterly fetch, as we call it,
that leads to beach erosion, should be minor.
and those winds gusting 35 to 40 miles an hour.
Remember, last Nor'easter, we were gusting toward, let's say,
hurricane force in some shore locations,
so definitely not the case this time.
Right now, we're looking at 51 in Doylestown, 57 in Exton,
but a chilly 49 in Wilmington.
And as we go through the overnight, 40s to the north and east,
also to the south and east, 45 in Philadelphia,
the same in Millville and Hamilton.
So not a huge range in temperature from the Poconos down to the shore.
Tomorrow, looking at sunshine,
a little bit cooler and breezy in the afternoon.
The high temperature is 67,
but that's where we should be at this late date in October.
And as we look at that seven-day,
even milder Thursday, a day like today,
Friday's cooler for the walk to Alzheimer's on Saturday,
and Villanova football will be in the 60s.
But look at this, the morning low 37.
So for the walk, you're going to be in the 40s,
so make sure you bundle up.
What about Monday night football?
Is it too early to look ahead at the lake?
4 o'clock, the temperature is 71 for our tailgaters.
By 6 o'clock, 68.
But after sunset, you'll lose about 5 to 6 degrees, just like that.
So you can see we go from 68 to 63 at kickoff,
and then by 10 o'clock, it's around 60 with clear skies.
If you notice, the sun's setting much earlier lately,
and that's going to be really significant by the end of the month.
Today's sunset was at 6:14, by the 25th of October, 6:08.
by Halloween six o'clock
but you get one extra hour if you're going to be partying or at a party
because remember two o'clock in the morning you switch
the clock's back but it'll only be one you
lose that hour of sleep but yes by November 1st
the sun will set at 5 p.m. and what about the peak
fall color what about this weekend going up toward
the Poconos even through parts of Bucks County
upper Montgomery we will be in peak fall color
and those colors beautiful because we had enough
rain I think we've had plenty of rain we'll send it back
to you yeah it's nice to enjoy this break
for sure thank you Kathy
