My Dogs Are Unfazed By Massive Thunderstorm & 80MPH Winds!
How do your dogs handle big summer thunderstorms?
Oh my gosh, what a wild and crazy weather day here in Michigan! We went from a miserable, hot, and humid morning with temperatures feeling like 120 degrees out in the sun, straight into a severe storm warning with 80 mph wind gusts. It was definitely way too hot for Siberian Huskies outside, so we had to hunker down indoors where the AC was nice and cool. I tried to rush to the store to beat the rain, and let's just say I made it back to Jamie and the dogs just in the nick of time before the sky completely opened up!
The wind hit us hard and even knocked over my tomato plant, but Kira and Eleanor were completely unfazed by the loud thunder and lightning. They were just living their best lives doing belly-up snoozes on the cooling mat and going a little stir crazy inside. Once the worst of the front passed and the temperature dropped, Jamie and I snuck out for a quick electric scooter ride down to the lake to check out the driftwood and look for beach glass before heading back to give the dogs a short evening walk in the thick, sticky humidity.
We ended the night watching a movie, only for another massive round of storms to roll through right around midnight. You won't believe the insane, ridiculous timing we caught on camera when we went to check out the lightning out front! It was the perfect crazy end to a very dramatic summer day. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR DAY
š„µ Waking up to miserable heat and humidity that is way too hot for Huskies.
š Rushing to the store as fast as possible to beat a severe storm with 80 mph winds.
šØ The storm hitting our house and knocking over tomato plants while the dogs stay unfazed.
š¾ Eleanor and Kira getting the major indoor zoomies from being stuck inside all day.
šµ Taking a quick electric scooter ride down to the lake to look for driftwood and beach glass.
š Taking the dogs on a short, super sticky 9:00 PM walk in 99% humidity.
ā” Catching some absolutely wild midnight lightning and loud thunder rumbles on camera.
