Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Monday that Russia accepted compromise terms proposed by American negotiators at the Anchorage Alaska summit, saying "we were asked to make compromises as formulated by the American negotiators — we agreed," while acknowledging that no formal documents were signed at the talks. Speaking after meetings with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk, Putin said Russia had heard "no other position from the American side" since Anchorage and was awaiting the return of US envoys once the critical phase of the US-Iran situation concludes.
