Fighting along the line of contact continues. Russian occupation forces continue to make intensive assault attempts at several points.
However, Ukrainian units are holding their ground and not only repelling enemy attacks but also conducting their own offensive operations. Glavred reports on the situation on the front and the latest actions of the Ukrainian military. Russian units attempted to advance through Raygorodok toward Slavyansk, but were unable to continue their offensive. Meanwhile, the enemy continues to launch attacks in the Liman direction and directly in the Liman area.
The press secretary of the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov, spoke about this on the FREEDOM television channel.
According to him, the Ukrainian forces' zone of responsibility was recently expanded to include the area up to Raygorodok. This is where Russian troops have been heavily active. They attempted to break through the village toward Slovyansk, but were unsuccessful. However, Tregubov noted that Russian units had previously succeeded in advancing near this village. The Russian army is currently concentrating its main efforts south of the Liman section of the front.
As Tregubov noted, the situation in the Liman area remains relatively stable. Russian troops have not yet been able to make significant advances, as the Ukrainian defenses there are well prepared: engineering positions have been established and an effective drone and fire strike system has been established.
Meanwhile, the enemy continues to attack along virtually the entire line of contact. Russian troops are also attempting to approach the outskirts of Liman from the east, but these efforts have so far yielded no noticeable results.
Besides, assault group members from the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians cleared a Russian position. Three Russian soldiers were killed during the operation, and another occupier was captured. Ukrainian infantry, supported by reconnaissance drones, approached the enemy position. Russian troops took cover in a deep dugout and opened fire on the assault group.
The Ukrainian fighters asked the enemy to cease resistance and surrender. One Russian soldier left his cover and surrendered, but the others continued fighting. When the assault troops ran out of grenades, soldiers from a neighboring position delivered additional ammunition to them under enemy fire.
Due to the bunker's design, conventional grenades proved ineffective: a long passageway allowed Russian troops to take cover deep within the structure. Then, operators of a heavy drone delivered a more powerful munition to the assault team.
After being asked again to lay down their arms, one of the Ukrainian fighters threw the ammunition into the shelter.
According to the brigade, three Russian servicemen were killed in the clash. The Ukrainian assault group returned from the mission without losses, and the captured Russian soldier was taken to the command post.
