My Dog Walked In Her Favorite Lake! Ice Cold Lake Superior!

Welcome back to day two of our Upper Peninsula camping trip! Today was supposed to be a slow, chill day, and honestly, it worked out perfectly. We started our beautiful morning with a relaxing walk around Muskallonge Lake State Park—one of our top three favorite state parks in Michigan. Since my phone forgot to charge last night and we left our rapid chargers at home, the girls got plenty of extra rest while I caught up on some work and waited for a full battery.
Once we were all powered up and packed into the Jeep, we headed over to Grand Marais to explore the stunning shoreline of Lake Superior. Memphis absolutely loves this lake! The icy cold water felt amazing on her legs, and she even tipped over a little bit because she was enjoying it so much. Jamie and Grandma and Grandpa headed down the beach to do some classic Michigan rock picking while I hung out in the shade with the girls to keep them cool and away from the crazy UP mosquitoes.
We wrapped up our afternoon by heading back to the campsite to fire up the Blackstone grill for some delicious hamburgers. We spent the evening relaxing by the solo stove, listening to the hockey playoffs, and watching the girls completely crash out on the bed. Eleanor gave us a little scare by chomping on a bee, but thankfully we brought all our supplies just in case! Tomorrow we are planning a hike to a gorgeous waterfall, so everyone is resting up. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR DAY

🔋 Spending a slow morning at the campsite waiting for my phone to fully charge.
🌊 Memphis splashing around and getting her belly wet in the refreshing, cold waters of Lake Superior.
💎 Watching Jamie, Grandma, and Grandpa find a pocket full of cool rocks along the Grand Marais shoreline.
🦟 Watching a literal swarm of Upper Peninsula mosquitoes surround the outside of our running Jeep.
🍔 Grilling up juicy hamburgers on the Blackstone while the girls napped in the sun.
🐝 Eleanor having a little fit and catching a bee (don't worry, she is completely fine!).
🏒 Relaxing by the fire and listening to the playoff hockey game under the stars.
🌟 Taking a late-night potty walk with the girls wearing their bright glowing LED collars.
