Today started off a little stressful because I had to take Kira to the vet. I noticed she was acting strange and refusing to jump up on the bed or the couch. When you know your Siberian Huskies as well as we do, you just know when something is off! I called Dr Ryan and got her in right away to see what was causing her pain right before our big RV camping trip.
It turns out Kira tweaked her lower back! She and Eleanor play pretty rough so she probably just moved the wrong way. The vet prescribed her some medicine to bring down the swelling and gave her strict instructions not to run or jump. The absolute best news is that we still got the all clear to go camping! Jamie and I are so incredibly relieved. I headed out to the RV to start organizing our gear and setting up the ramp so Kira does not have to use the stairs.
Getting the RV ready definitely brought up some emotions since this will be our first camping trip without Memphis. Seeing her cooling mat and the ramp we used for her made me miss her so much but it is comforting to know her gear is now helping Kira heal. Between rescuing caterpillars from Eleanor and watching the giant ships deliver winter salt down by the water, it was a crazy busy day! Thank you all for always sending us so much love. Life is short, Make memories with your dogs!
