My Old Dog Did NOT Have to Be Carried To Get Here!
Another beautiful morning at the campground! Welcome back to day two of our Upper Peninsula camping adventure. Today turned out to be a whole lot warmer and a little bit more interesting than we expected, but that didn't stop us from having the absolute best time making memories with our dogs! We started our day by letting the girls guide our morning walk, leading us right down the big grassy areas they love so much, before heading out for a major milestone adventure.
We packed up and headed over to the gorgeous Tahquamenon Falls! If you’ve followed our channel for a while, you know how hard the old steps used to be for our older dogs. We were so excited to try out the brand new ramp system to see if we could get down to the falls together. Eleanor found her favorite stump for a quick photo op, and we made it all the way to the bottom to hear the rushing water. The Upper Peninsula mosquitoes were out in full force trying to eat us alive, but getting to see this beautiful view together was worth every single bite!
After checking out the falls and grabbing some fun souvenirs at the gift shop, we took a trip down to Lake Superior. The sand and slippery rocks were a little tricky for some, so we made sure to keep the Jeep AC cranking to keep everyone perfectly cool and comfortable. And of course we had to go rockhounding and found some cool ones, including some cool Emberlites that actually glow in the dark! We ended our amazing day back at the campsite with a cozy campfire, a sweet visit from our friend Indy, and some very tired, twitching, dreaming huskies.
