THE ROAD COLLAPSED! 😱 We are SAFE With the Dogs

The weather in Northern Michigan has taken a turn for the extreme! In today's vlog, we are dealing with some of the most intense flooding we have ever seen in our 30 years of living here. All 83 counties in Michigan are currently under a flood watch, and things are getting serious. We took a trip up to St. Ignace for a food show and ended up driving through deep water on US-23 and witnessing the Mackinac Bridge completely disappearing into a thick wall of fog.
We also stopped by Akyak Falls to see the power of the water, and it was absolutely breathtaking—and a little bit terrifying! Shortly after we drove home, we got word that the very road we were on had collapsed. Between dam failures in neighboring towns and emergency water restrictions in Alpena, we are staying home and trying to keep the dogs calm as more storms roll in.
Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor are handling the chaos in true Husky fashion—by losing their marbles! From Kira's "rude" behavior with the leaf piles to the girls getting the "zoomies" while I try to upload footage, there is never a dull moment with the Snow Dogs. Life is short, make memories with your dogs, even when the backyard is turning into a lake!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR DAY
🌁 Driving across the Mackinac Bridge while it was completely hidden in deep fog.
🌊 Crossing US-23 with water rushing over the highway like a river.
🍁 Kira being "rude" and lifting her leg on the leaf piles Jamie just raked!
🌪️ Visiting Akyak Falls and seeing it completely overwhelmed by flood water.
⚠️ Hearing the news that the road we just drove on collapsed right after we left.
🏗️ Checking out the 9th Street Dam where almost every gate is wide open.
🪵 Spotting a busy woodpecker in the yard while the sun was briefly out.
🐺 Memphis and the girls getting a serious case of the "tipper tappers" inside.
🌧️ Hearing the rain start again as Michigan faces a massive statewide flood watch.
