Huskies Swimming in the Lake on 4th of July

Well, good wonderful beautiful 4th of July morning Pawdience! Guess what? Who's here Shelby? Who's here? I tell everybody... Look! Thor's here! What are you doing? Look at that tail go! Look at that tail go! Hi buddy! He's like, I'm gonna go play with these dogs. So Charles and Thor came up for 4th of July! They came up late last night, so all the dogs have already been playing. Having a grand old time. Here and Thor get along pretty good. Of course, you know Shelby and Thor. Shelby was super happy to see him last night. I didn't film it. I think Charles got it on film though. So you guys can go check out his channel. I'll put some links down below. There goes Kira. What are you doing little girl? Just like every puppy we've ever had, you get to go to the parade with us and the other puppies are gonna stay home. What do you think? We've done this with every puppy so far. Thor is in the back. What are you doing back there, huh? What? You guys are so special. Not only do you get to come to the parade together, but you get to come inside the deli. What do you think of that? Thor is like, there's food back there. I'm gonna go that way. What do you think, huh? The parade is starting. So yes, if you can't tell, it is 4th of July. Charles and Thor came up to visit. The dogs played a bunch last night. They played a bunch this morning. We went to the parade as you guys saw. I didn't film a lot of it cause we had the dogs there. We were kinda coming in and out to make sure they didn't overheat. We are now packing up all of the dogs and heading to my aunt's house at the cottage to go swimming in the lake. It's not as warm as I thought it was, but we're all gonna go swimming regardless. I got life jackets for everybody. Hey! You don't know how to eat that. What are you doing? I'm eating this grass, guys. It's great. Stop eating the grass. Stop putting everything in your mouth. That's what made you had to go to the vet's office, remember? No, I don't remember. I like to eat everything. But I got her a little life jacket. Got these girls their life jackets. We're gonna go play at the lake today. Look at those faces. You think something's happening? You think something's happening, huh? Yeah, something's happening. Y'all look like wet dogs now. You're all wet. You're all wet. You're all wet. Are you going back in the water, Thor? Thor's like, maybe. Maybe I will. Thor's going back in the water. You wanna go back in the water? She's like, no, I have enough water. Good girl! Alright guys! We're getting ready to walk down to the fireworks. We're actually gonna be about a mile away from where they shoot them off. We're at the deli right now. You made it! We're gonna go walk down to the boat harbor. Fireworks get shot off way down there. Like I said, about a mile away. So far, Kira could care less about the fireworks. She doesn't necessarily like the harness she has on. Care less, huh? Right? I can't give them all to you. Yeah, she could care less. She definitely hears it, but it don't affect her too bad. Jessica's giving her treats. Yeah. Are you watching them? Huh? Are you having fun? Good. Right? That's pretty behind you. It is. Are you getting poop? Yeah, gotcha on camera! I know it's just a tennis court, but I imagine this is what prison fireworks looks like. Freedom on the outside! He just went crazy! You hear the crowd? So, that was it. Was that fun? Yes. It was super fun. You like it, Kira, huh? She's like, I'm eating fish fries. The people we got Kira from just asked, how are all the puppies doing with the fireworks? So, I sent the pictures. Good. Mine don't care. We had a pocket full of treats. Yeah, I think that worked. I knew it would. It worked with the other ones. Pocket full of treats. Have patience. I like your hood. Did you guys see that? Red, white and blue Huskies. Caught a new spirit. The fuse broke. He had to relight it. Your boyfriend is leaving. Who's there? Go see. So, we got back from the fireworks last night and pretty much crashed. I forgot to film an ending clip. Kira did amazing. Jamie filmed it a little bit so you guys could see. I pretty much just gave her treats the whole time and made sure that she realized it wasn't scary and kept her distracted. After a few minutes of doing that, she could have cared less about the fireworks. She watched them. She wasn't jumpy. She wasn't scared. I actually did the same thing with the other two dogs and still to this day, they don't really care about fireworks. I know a lot of people say, don't take your dogs to the fireworks. Well, when they are young and being exposed to new things, sometimes it's not a bad idea. Of course, as you saw the first round of fireworks, we weren't sitting right underneath them. We weren't really up close. Dr. Currier's fireworks, we were quite a bit closer. We also were able to walk away if we needed to. By then, she was already used to the sound. Desensitizing your dogs, you know, it works. It really does. But anyway, Charles and Thor just left.
