Back to the Vet With our Senior Dog
It is a brutally cold morning here, but things are heating up with a bit of a health scare for Memphis. We are heading back to the vet today because Memphis has been having some concerning issues in the evenings. She has been asking to go out every 45 minutes to an hour, and sometimes she just stands there staring at me! We want to rule out a UTI and also have the vet look at some sores that have popped up on her chin, similar to a food reaction she had years ago. Join us as we brave the sub-zero temperatures to get our beautiful girl checked out.
At the vet, Memphis weighed in at 56.5 lbs (she might be a little bit of a chonker from the lack of winter walks!), and she got some laser therapy while we were there. The good news is that the test for a UTI came back negative! We didn't get a definitive answer on the bathroom habits yet, so the plan is to monitor her closely for the next few days. We are scheduling a full blood panel and liver level check in about two weeks to be thorough, but for now, she is acting happy and healthy!
Despite the worry and the freezing cold (minus 9 real feel!), we managed to capture some magic. The Northern Lights made a spectacular appearance! We set up the GoPro for a timelapse and even got some photos from the farm. Back home, Eleanor, Kira, and Memphis are enjoying their toys, including a tailless possum and a restuffed snowy owl. It’s a mix of worry, relief, and beautiful skies in today's vlog.
