This House Was Rebuilt Without Erasing Its Past — And It Changes Everything | Tam House
Tam House, designed by Iván Bravo Arquitectos in El Arrayan, is a 174-square-meter home that explores the idea of architectural evolution by layering new interventions over an existing structure rather than replacing it. The project carefully integrates past and present through a series of spatial extensions, creating a dynamic layout where a double-height living core opens to an interior garden, while more functional areas face the street. Its design responds closely to the sloped terrain, with a descending roofline that blends into the landscape, and a lightweight upper level added to preserve the original foundations. Inside, exposed material transitions reveal the house’s history, while the exterior is unified by a clean metal skin, giving the home a cohesive yet deeply narrative architectural identity.
