Inside a 95m² House Built Around a Sacred Void

Kehai House by HW Studio is a 95-square-meter residence in Morelia, Mexico, organized around a central stone garden inspired by traditional Japanese rock gardens. Rather than opening extensively toward the city, the house creates a more inward-focused experience, using carefully positioned rocks, gravel, shōji screens, controlled openings, and natural light to shape the atmosphere. Its compact spaces are arranged around this central void, while elements such as the double-height kitchen, contemplative living area, circular bedroom window, and outdoor circulation create a strong connection between architecture, nature, and daily life.
