Bloody battles in streets of Pokrovsk: Russian units are destroyed, but attack does not subside

Defenders of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region report a critical situation in the defense of the city, where two and a half hundred occupiers have already infiltrated and are engaging in gunfire. Officers from two brigades fighting in this area told journalists from Ukrainska Pravda about this situation.
The publication recalled that, as early as mid-August, the occupiers re-entered the city and established several staging areas, from which they are moving further—in the area of the railway, between Pokrovsk and Grishin, and along the Dachenskoye-Novopavlovka-Gnatovka line. One of sources in the brigade defending the city reported at least 250 occupiers fighting on the streets of Pokrovsk.
At the same time, according to him, the Ukrainian “infantry is practically cut off from command,” and the soldiers remain in positions without rotation for 2.5-3 months.
"The biggest problem is the difficulty of logistics. Part of the road can be covered by car, but then you have to walk 10-15 kilometers. And all that time you have to carry ammunition, drones, and provisions. The entire road is monitored by FPV drones on fiber optics, and there are a lot of drones waiting for you, and remote mining operations are taking place, which kills people every day," the officer said.
Another UP source noted that the situation in Pokrovsk is developing "according to the worst-case scenario," while in the satellite town of Myrnograd it is slightly better.
"Pokrovsk is crumbling too quickly; we didn't expect this... But if Pokrovsk falls, the garrison in Myrnograd will have no way out. Our logistics to Myrnograd are over 20 kilometers away. Replacing them is nearly impossible. It's impossible to take out those on the defensive," the officer said.
At the same time, a Defense Forces officer with the call sign "Alex" confirmed that the situation in Pokrovsk was grave, but noted that the Russians had "fantasized" about the advances in their reports.
"Now the SDUs have temporarily stabilized the situation; the enemy has reached lines that it cannot cross and continue to advance to fully capture the city," he emphasized. “But if Pokrovsk falls, then there will be no way out for the garrison in Myrnograd. Our logistics in Myrnograd are over 20 km away. It is almost impossible to make replacements. It is impossible to remove those who are on the shield. Rodynske is being squeezed, Chervonyi Liman is under pressure. People are working on the edge, they understand that the encirclement is getting closer", he added.
As a reminder, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group recently managed to penetrate the center of Pokrovsk, where they killed several civilians . Ukrainian defenders discovered the invaders and eliminated them.
The situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd has been deteriorating for several months, and is now critical. The Russians retain control of the skies – meaning they constantly fly FPV drones over the roads and wait for cars on the roads themselves, complicating the logistics of Ukrainian units.
