On the night of Tuesday, July 7, a series of explosions rocked the Russian city of Belgorod. Following the strike , the city experienced power and water outages.
The impact of the strike was felt across several areas of the city's infrastructure. Residents of some areas were left without power, and some homes were left without water. One of the most noticeable consequences of the attack was a fire at a gas transportation facility. The strike sparked a fire at the Belgorod Linear Production Department of Main Gas Pipelines, Astra reports . LVUMG is a branch of Gazprom Transgaz Moscow LLC, part of Gazprom PJSC. The division's primary mission is to operate gas trunkline facilities in the Belgorod Region and ensure natural gas supplies to consumers in the region. The official government response was swift, but it provided no details on the extent of the damage. Belgorod Region Governor Alexander Shuvaev stated that the city had been subjected to a "massive missile attack."
According to him, the strike "caused a fire at one of the facilities," and in some areas of Belgorod and several municipalities, "power and water supply interruptions are being observed." Shuvaev did not name the specific facility where the fire broke out. As previously reported , on the night of July 6, Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the territory of the aggressor state, Russia. A massive fire broke out in the city of Yaroslavl . As a reminder, on July 4, several loud explosions rocked the birthplace of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. It was discovered that Ukrainian drones had struck an oil terminal in the port of St. Petersburg.
Russia previously announced Ukraine's likely first use of a long-range ballistic missile in a strike on the Moscow region. However, Ukraine has not officially confirmed the use of such weapons.
