Breathing Body in Three Smiles: A Meditation with Ajahn Kovilo
This guided meditation invites you to rest in a posture that is upright but not uptight, and to relate to the breath with warmth and kindness. Moving attention from the belly, to the chest, to the tip of the nose, and finally to the whole body, you’ll explore the breath through the lens of different “smiles” — the tenderness of a baby’s smile, the ease of a friend’s smile, the care of a grandmother’s smile, and finally your own smile from within.
Rather than just watching the breath, this practice helps soften the critical mind and brings a sense of friendliness, connection, and ease to your meditation.
The talk this week focused on Getting Better At Pleasure! A Taxonomy of the Many Buddhist Joys, which you can see here: https://rickhanson.com/talk-meditation-getting-better-at-pleasure-a-taxonomy-of-the-many-buddhist-joys/
