Hey guys, it's the perfect time for radishes right now.
They're super juicy, packed with nutrients, and so budget-friendly too.
I got two big ones for just 80 cents.
Today I'm sharing my go-to stir-fried radish recipe that's so flavorful and never bland.
If you love radishes, stick around and let's cook together.
First grab a nice plump white radish.
Trim off the ends, then peel the skin with a peeler.
The skin is tough, so peeling makes it extra tender.
Cut the radish into chunks, split them in half, then slice into thin, even pieces.
Uniform thickness cooks evenly, no undercooked or mushy bits.
White radishes are amazing, full of vitamin C, fiber, calcium, and potassium.
Super hydrating, great for digestion, and perfect for cutting through grease.
Set the radish slices aside.
Now fill a pot with water and bring to a rolling boil.
While waiting, prep the other ingredients.
I love adding pork belly to veggies, it adds so much rich flavor.
Slice it up and set it aside.
Grab a few garlic cloves, peel them, and chop into small bits.
Chopped garlic smells amazing when it fries up.
Peel a piece of ginger and mince it up too.
Toss those in a bowl.
Once the water's boiling, add 3 grams of salt and stir until it dissolves.
Salting the water seasons the radish and keeps it crisp, not mushy.
Drop in the radish slices and give them a quick stir.
Blanch for about 30 seconds, just until they turn slightly translucent.
Then drain and set aside.
Heat some oil in a pan.
Toss in the pork belly and stir-fry over high heat.
Render out the fat until the edges are golden and crispy.
So delicious, not greasy at all.
Add the minced garlic and ginger.
If you like a little kick, toss in some chili peppers.
Stir-fry to release that amazing aroma.
Now add the blanched radish slices.
Time to season.
Add 2 grams of sugar for brightness, 1 gram of white pepper, 2 grams of salt,
3 grams of dark soy sauce for color, and 10 grams of oyster sauce for that extra umami boost.
Stir-fry everything together over high heat.
Keep it moving so every slice soaks up that sauce.
You'll see them turn glossy and tender.
Toss in some green garlic shoots and stir just until they're bright green and crisp tender.
Don't overcook them!
And there you have it!
Glossy, savory, mouth-watering stir-fried radish with pork belly.
It's so comforting, full of that cozy home-cooked flavor.
Super affordable, super easy, and totally addictive.
This is perfect for winter warm, satisfying, and the whole family will love it.
Radishes this time of year are extra sweet, so make it for your people while they're fresh.
All right, that's it for today's recipe.
Thanks for hanging out.
