AI GeneratedThe Denver Nuggets have a strategic opportunity to acquire Dalton Knecht from the Los Angeles Lakers. Given the Nuggets' luxury tax constraints and the Lakers' need to offload contracts, Knecht represents a low-cost, high-potential shooting asset who could provide critical spacing alongside Nikola Jokic.
The Denver Nuggets have just been gifted a golden opportunity from a rival team who just made a big
error and now the Nuggets are ready to strike adding a young player with a lot of potential
who also is on a cheap contract which obviously ownership will approve of especially after
they're purchasing in the Los Angeles Angels but regardless because they are in the second apron
and the Kroenke family definitely does not like paying the luxury tax and guys because of all
this the Nuggets have now been gifted the perfect opportunity to go get a player who has so much
potential so much talent but it's being wasted away in a franchise that does not care about them
and now this is where the Nuggets strike and make an under the radar move something that we
desperately need right now going into the season and this also helps in another sense because it
does also give the Nuggets an opportunity to get a contract off the books that we know they would
like to get off the books and guys before we do dive fully into it make sure to go ahead and
subscribe to Nuggets Digest for all the latest Denver Nuggets updates we got videos coming out
every single day we are back we are locked in we are moved into the new apartment so it's now
Nuggets Digest grind time and for you 70% that's not subscribed guys this is where to get a ton
of Nuggets updates and have a lot of fun talking about some Denver Nuggets basketball and look
none of us are thrilled the front office after this offseason obviously it's not all on Ben
Tenzer and John Walls they definitely haven't done a great job but hey maybe Trayvon Brazil
works out and things start to turn around fast but also the Kroenke family and their lack of
interest in spending money has certainly hurt the team it made them lose Peyton Watson
and it feels like the Nuggets are regressing if anything after losing in the first round last
year but now they have an opportunity to go and get a player who will be very helpful to the team
in a few ways not only contractually in the future but also for right now as it does give
the Nuggets something that is great next to Nikola Jokic an elite shooter and that is none other than
Dalton Connect who has been largely forgotten about up to this point but now things have
turned around in a big way and moves like this is the type of stuff that does help you win an NBA
championship which obviously we do know that the Nuggets want to do and if you do believe that the
Nuggets will win the championship well there's a great opportunity and I do want to thank
Kalshi for sponsoring today's video is on Kalshi you're trading directly against other users not
the house like traditional sports books you're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome of
politics and even the weather and guys one that I am trading on right now is the Denver Nuggets
to win the 2027 NBA finals because if you trade $25 on yes against everyone who is trading no
you will make $585 on that trade and the Nuggets they have the best player in the world their bench
does have potential to break out and be much better than expected basically the opposite of
what happened last year and frankly I am going to believe and guys here is the best part about it
if you are interested in trying out Kalshi use the link in the description trade $25 with code
digest NBA and get $25 added to your account instantly that you put on the Nuggets winning
the NBA finals so thanks to Kalshi and let's jump back into the video because guys there is
a lot to go over on the Denver Nuggets right now I mean when we look at this team we know
they got to make some big moves and frankly they have a move right here that's kind of under the
radar with Dalton Connect recently but he still does give something that the Nuggets would love
as he is viewed as the most likely trade most likely player on the Lakers to be traded before
this season as Los Angeles offered Jared Vanderbilt and Jaden Hardy in a separate sign in trade
packages for Jonathan Kaminga which obviously went nowhere as Kaminga went to Minnesota and Connect
is on a 4.2 million dollar salary for the 2026-27 season but it does get bigger than that as at the
same time when it loads basically there are only a handful of teams that might make sense for Dalton
Connect as Sean Devaney mentioned but the Lakers' big issue is that they have very little draft
capital they have three future second rounders and one pick swap to attach to get a team to take
Connect the Nuggets don't have too much draft capital either but if they take Connect and if
they can also in a subsequent move get a couple bucks off the book all of a sudden they got a
chance to do something here Connect is cheap and it's not just this year that he's cheap
he's cheap for two seasons and yeah he hasn't showed a bunch I'm not acting like he has
but it gives the Nuggets another cheap contract that obviously is helpful for a team that is
I mean shelling out more money than any team in the NBA right now on contracts
so frankly it does help that area something that is huge for the Nuggets and at the same time he
still has a ton of breakout potential look I get it he didn't have a great year last year
I'm not sitting here acting like Dalton Connect was so good last year and everyone forgot about
him well the Lakers forgot about him too that's the bigger problem is the Lakers forgot about him
he only shot 34 percent from three well guess what he didn't play in meaningful minutes and
kept getting sent down to the G League so Bronny James could play with his dad that is what happened
there this is not on Connect as much as people like to say it is yeah he didn't shoot well and
that's his one thing we'll put him on a team like the Nuggets that can always use another shooter
get Thoreau Connect out there and all of a sudden watch as that three-point percentage goes up and
I get it there's arguments it's not like everyone shoots well in Denver Christian Brown didn't shoot
well last season but he's also had seasons where he shot 40 percent from three and he was hurt last
year there's a ton of reasons to believe that this move does make perfect sense including with
Jake Fisher just mentioning right here that if the Lakers want to make a move that would free up room
to add another player bleach reports Jake Fisher mentioned that Bruce Brown would be a possibility
they would probably need to make offers both Connect and Hardy or offload a contract like
that of Bronny James it's unclear if the Nuggets want to bring back Bruce Brown if they do you
bring back Bruce Brown over anything else I mean Cowboy Bruce means so much to this team he's a
great leader he's a great vocal leader and at the same time he is still a very effective player he's
a very good defender guards multiple positions plays multiple positions and does the dirty work
everyone needs a glue guy Bruce Brown is one of the best glue guys in basketball today so I do
still think they should bring back Bruce Brown over anything else but also it does give him a
move it gives him an opportunity to make some sort of change with that team especially if the Nuggets
do plan on getting rid of Cameron Johnson Johnson's got one year left on his deal right now
and here is the thing about that when we look at where Cameron Johnson is at overall we do see a
who is right now getting 23 million dollars per year so if the Nuggets do decide this is what has
to happen they need to move forwards they need to move on well then I like the idea of going
elsewhere with Cameron Johnson I mean it's obviously been a move and even still you can't
cut all the money away but you can cut a good chunk of it away right now and try to make another move
to move on from Cameron Johnson and to really give the Nuggets an actual opportunity to do
something that works here and right now that is the thing they don't have a lot of stuff that's
been working and frankly Connect fits this team as mentioned by Sleeper Nuggets in 2025 nothing
official but there were rumors back then floating around that Denver could trade for Dalton Connect
Dalton grew up in Thornton Colorado and played college basketball in northern Colorado for two
years should they trade for the hometown kid well I think now is a great opportunity especially
because in 2024 before he was drafted he was asked to the best player of all time as I said Kevin
Durant but also was asked what the best team of all time was and he did say the Denver Nuggets he
also said the team will end in 2025 you know people say that obviously what are you gonna do not say that
be a weird answer for an NBA player but at the same time the man is a Nuggets fan he rooted for
the Nuggets he grew up in Denver it's one of those guys or not in Denver but grew up in Colorado
it's one of those guys who really he does feel like this would be an opportune situation for
him going forwards and I really really like the idea of this and I do want to see the Nuggets
move forward with trying to find a way to add a guy like Connect moves like this improving on
the margins is how teams win NBA championships and right now the Nuggets they are certainly
fighting an uphill battle to win a championship it's possible but it will be difficult to pull
off so let's go into it what do you guys think I know the video lagged for like a good 15 seconds
sorry about that like this video subscribe turn on post notifications have a great day
and I'll catch y'all later
