Major Nuggets Update - Report Reveals NEW Target...

We have a major Denver Nuggets update right now as a report has revealed a new target that the front office is looking at as they deal with a whole lot of turmoil surrounding Peyton Watson's restricted free agency as more sign and trade news keeps pouring in about Watson as though the Nuggets want to keep Watson though it's always been said that they're going to match any contract up to 30 million dollars per year on average annual value at the same time the door has been left open for potential sign and trades and because of that we do start to look at some possible guys who they could acquire and now we are seeing someone else a young player similar to Watson not exactly the same player but very decorated early on in his career guys we're going to jump into all that but real noise about him potentially getting traded that's been something that we have seen now as the Clippers we know are real fair for Peyton Watson and the Nuggets are expected to match up to any offer sheet that's 30 million dollars annually so because of that it does make it very interesting Watson's a super talented player and we know that they're not the only team the Bucks have shown interest as well as we've recently seen the Nets did show interest at one point that that's kind of died down a little bit we've seen potential trade options like Derek Jones Jr. pop up but Watson is hard to get rid of I mean this is a guy overall who put up 14 and a half points per game last year got a block and a steal per game shot 41 percent from three he's one of those guys that you don't want to let go of because there's not a bad area in his game whatsoever at all like he's kind of good everywhere so because of that I really really do not see a point in getting rid of him even if it means overpaying him I don't really find a way to replace his talent and skill set but now there is another option out there and that is Jaime Jaquez Jr. as there has been reports of Jaquez and the Denver Nuggets it was reported by RA report the Denver would have significant interest in Jaime Jaquez Jr. as a part of any sign and trade agreement with Milwaukee the Nuggets would prefer to retain Peyton Watson but talks have hit hurdles at times and have become tense so with that in mind Jaquez becomes a guy that you look at and understand hey he is a talented player he could replace Watson talk about being traded from the Miami Heat and he said it was definitely devastating for sure I love Miami I love this city it really did feel like a home to me but now he's in Milwaukee but for how long I mean look overall depends on what happens with Watson because that's how he would get moved on from I mean as our report said while Denver has remained intent on retaining its young athletic forward contract talks with Peyton Watson and his representatives have yet to produce a common ground on salary range as a result Nuggets have begun exploring potential sign and trade scenarios and Jaquez to me is definitely a better option than the other one we've seen in Derrick Jones Jr. Now I like Derrick Jones and in a sign and trade scenario with the Clippers Denver would want Derrick Jones Jr. and additional assets included in a deal so that'd be Derrick Jones Jr. and probably a first round pick is what I would expect out of this team right now so overall that does make some sense but we know the Bucs are interested in Peyton Watson and they do have a better idea I mean DNVR Nuggets great Twitter follow from Mark Stein mentioning that the Bucs are interested in acquiring Watson in a sign and trade in the Clippers and Hawks have also reportedly registered interest in Watson but you can probably take the Hawks out the Hawks recently did acquire Lou Dort in a trade so they don't really necessarily need to go and get Peyton Watson at this point and I don't think they actually will make a deal for him now that they do have Dort I just don't see that happening I see it to be much more likely that what we would look at is it be Jaquez to me he's the number one option if I'm the Nuggets at least if I were them I would want Jaquez over any of these guys personally I mean Jaquez again he's talented he's young he can play a few different positions and overall he has a lot of strengths to his game so I do think Jaquez is a good fit now he can't really shoot the three all but he's a good defender just had a season where he put up 15.3 points can defend the one to the four really got five rebounds five assists as well talented well-rounded offensive player that if he was able to start hitting his threes would be an absolutely elite talent we're not elite talent but he would be a very very talented player who would really take his game to the next level the Nuggets they would be great if they could land Hawkeyes and Hawkeyes could learn how to shoot but that's always been the thing with Hawkeyes what are we going to do about the shooting is it going to be can we kind of get past it I mean with the Nuggets playing a five out system because of Jokic obviously it is possible and the great defense is there you can hear the sirens out there because Hawkeyes is sending people to jail defensively but is he as good as Peyton Watson it's up for debate I mean Hawkeyes overall did come in second for sixth man of the year voting so you know he's a pretty damn talented player overall and he would be someone who would likely still come off the bench for the Nuggets I would imagine they would start Christian Brown Oberman Hope Brown relearns how to shoot have Hawkeyes who really does give him another ball handler as well which would be nice here so there is a lot of things to like about Jaime Hawkeyes but again it also comes down to what exactly is going to happen with Watson I mean Tim Legler said for me that's a must it's a must signing Denver needs to get him back in house he's 23 years old he's just starting to pop off and he defends and that's kind of the way that I feel and I think a way that a lot of people are feeling right now when you just look at this entire situation again now we see teams that are going to be interested in Watson there's a few teams that are and we saw right back in a couple weeks ago that it's almost exclusively now down to Denver giving an offer or a sign and trade situation or Brooklyn and it might be that the market this is the market that Denver was reading so that's the question on Watson what is the market if the Nuggets are to sign and trade him how much money is he getting how much does he want because you look at the Christian Brown deal and if you're I mean if I'm Rich Paul I'm saying that's at the very least what we're going for because Watson is better than Brown he is a better player we want that money or better but that is the baseline of the contract that we're looking for and that's also the lowest that we want to go because we know how good Peyton is and he's got a lot of interest between the Clippers between the Bucks there's teams that would go for him and that would try to give him more money because they could afford it considering they just traded away their stars so Watson does become a commodity for teams like that where he could try to break out at 23 years old and become an under the radar move that can change the direction of a franchise both those franchises think that's the case the Nuggets they don't see Peyton Watson as a guy who's going to become a superstar it feels like but they do understand that as long as they have Jokic and Murray and are trying to win NBA championships again overall Peyton Watson's not a player you can just let go that's not how a front office would do it well that would be an absolute disgrace I mean getting Hawkeyes and some draft capital that would make up for the deal getting Hawkeyes and Kalel Ware that would make up for losing Peyton Watson but you got to make sure it's for the right price and things do not get away from the from the Nuggets for too cheap that would be an absolute disaster but guys I am curious what you think so let me know in the comments down below and right before we do finish season Nakua I know he went through some stuff over the offseason but it seems like he's locked in he's playing football and that man is an absolute beacon for passes very few people get targeted as much as Nakua does Matt Stafford is still that man overall I do think that it would be a move that I just don't see a world that Nakua doesn't get more than eight receiving touchdowns I'm also thinking Derek Henry to get less than 1,274.5 rush yards now at some point he's got to slow down right like that LeBron tweet but at the same time I also do think with a new coach things could change up and also I imagine the Ravens are going to be in the playoffs and they probably want to preserve Derek Henry for then so they would run with a few different running backs and then kind of bell cow
