The Nuggets just tripled down on this...
Oct 14, 2026
The Denver Nuggets are tripling down on this as there is a move
that is about to happen for the team to make a player
on a full roster spot as he is learning from Aaron Gordon
and David Adelman's absolute love for this man is shining through
and showing the Nuggets are going to be using him
as one of the biggest sleeper signings of the offseason.
And that is none other than Cameron Whitmore,
who got waived from the Cleveland Cavaliers after he got traded away.
And all of his heads are cut off in these photos.
But overall, Whitmore right here, he is at a spot right now where he
is showing not only is he going to be an effective offensive player,
but he is going to play his role correctly.
He's going to be playing hard defense.
He's going to be doing everything the Nuggets have asked for.
and he is learning already from Aaron Gordon
and what Gordon has been able to do as a mentor
is going to change the career for Whitmore
and ultimately change the entire dynamic
of the Nuggets this season
as this team is doing whatever they can
to try to win the 2027 NBA championship.
And even though it's an uphill battle,
moves like this where Whitmore shows up and shows out
will help the Nuggets' chances rise
from the 4% they are right now.
And I do want to thank Kalshi
for sponsoring this video, guys.
on Kalshi you're trading directly against other users
not the house like traditional sports books
you're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome
to events across sports politics and even the
weather for example the nuggets winning the 2027 championship
or if you trade 25 on the nuggets to
win you can make 585 dollars as a max payout
and guys i say 25 because if you're interested in
signing up on Kalshi click the link in our description
or the pinned comment down below
and you just go digest NBA when you sign up for Kalshi
and you can get $55 when you trade your first 25.
And right now, that is a great deal
that will help the channel out as well.
But guys, as it pertains to Cam Whitmore,
he is someone who really is already learning from Aaron Gordon.
And we have seen that Gordon has been the exact type of player
to help morph Whitmore's entire career.
Whitmore said, he definitely tells me where I need to be.
while on top of this that if I'm going to be out
on the floor that is who I need to look at and
that is a big deal because Whitmore is not the type of guy
who you would see and kind of explain
to be a type of Aaron Gordon type guy I mean
they're honestly similar sizes but their careers
have had very different kind of play styles I mean
this man and Whitmore who is viewed as a guy
who can get you a quick bucket very easily
and overall won't always be the most efficient while
not playing tough defense meanwhile Aaron Gordon
is Mr. Nugget he does all the dirty work possible
scores the ball well shot 40 nearly 40 percent
shot 39 percent three last season and is an
absolutely excellent defender now Whitmore I
mean David Adelman has said in the past that he
absolutely could be a great defender
because of his athleticism he's totally got it there I mean
right here even just seeing Adelman saying it's
not just the athleticism he can play he could
really play basketball we're excited about the growth that he has
and we look at Aaron Gordon's
role the play style this guy
who goes to the rim more than anything else and Whitmore is so strong
and six foot six so he's not as tall as Gordon
but he's very very strong he can get in there
with the best of them I mean he can roll really well like
as a as a screener Gordon I don't see
any reason why Whitmore can't
do that with his athleticism he hits corner three as well Whitmore
in years has been a solid three-point shooter
so there's no reason why Whitmore can't do that
as well Whitmore could absolutely spot up he can isolate
a little bit as well which obviously
you know frankly is really where Whitmore is at one
of his best natural skills and then on top
of that we see what Aaron Gordon does
do really well I mean the usage rate he performs well in
low usage and Whitmore he's gonna have low usage it's
not gonna be like it was in Houston or even
the short time in Washington before he went down with the blood clot
which ended his season so
because of that you do start to see just where this team is at we
also just look at Cam Whitmore
and his play style he's a guy
who like Gordon loves to go to the rim that is where a lot of
his shots do come from while he's more of a transitional guy
and a spot-up guy he can also
run in the role as well can be the screener
because he's got a good handle on the ball
and I mean as Adelman did say the kid
is extremely talented his attitude has been really good
throughout which is a great sign to see for Whitmore
because one of the big things about him
it felt like could have been the attitude really more than
the attitude the mindset that he came
in with being a guy who wants to get a bucket
and that's his role he understands that the NBA that
kind of way is going by the wayside
and he's gonna have to play a new role well he looked at Aaron
Gordon and said this is who I have
to be like Gordon obviously more than happy to always mentor
someone on the Nuggets and always just be a veteran presence
and a guy to look at for this
teams so obviously getting a chance
for a guy like Whitmore it's one of those tasks that not
only is Whitmore going to want to show hey I can
be like this guy I mean I imagine Gordon is saying
yeah I wanted that to be on my resume
that I helped turn this guy's career around because
he's clearly talented and that's just going
to help us win games if I can get him to lock in
it's this type of stuff that does change the way
that team's going I mean that's one of the big
things here I mean we see Whitmore loves the above
the break three that's something that he'll get a
lot of in Denver and overall it really just looks like Whitmore
is going to be an excellent fit here
for this team now we know how great Aaron Gordon
is with Nikola Jokic with Jokic he's playing great
basketball just completely I mean the percentage goes way
the true shooting percentage jumps up
the three-point percentage takes
a massive leap overall Aaron Gordon shows up and shows out with
Jokic everyone gets better with Jokic Whitmore will
be the same thing and he'll get to watch
how Gordon's game transforms into that off-ball role
where he could really, really do a whole lot
while he still learns lessons from Gordon.
I mean, looking at the positioning around the creator,
the defensive responsibility, which the Nuggets need.
Without Peyton Watson there, yeah,
Alpha Diallo, Christian Brown, obviously Gordon,
they're all going to be big-time defenders, Spencer Jones,
but they need more help on the defensive end.
Whitmore's the guy who we know can do it.
He's someone who we're all aware of
because if you're that athletic,
if you have that much of a feel for the game,
you can become a very, very good defender.
And with Whitmore, it was never, oh, he's
a bad defender. He's making this mistake.
He's making that mistake. No, that is not
what is happening.
What is happening is that the Nuggets, they look at Whitmore and they
see what everyone sees. Why is he not trying on defense?
If we can get him to lock in,
if we can get him to focus up on defense,
it'll change the way that he plays. So that
is going to be interesting to see.
It also affects the rotation in general. I mean, as
back end of the rotation is up for grabs
and you can feel it Whitmore is on a two-way contract
he's gonna have to fight up that to get off
the two-way contract again in the standard role but
even as long as he's on a two-way they can play him
and they likely will with the way that he's
been talked about throughout
this entire just preseason thus far the Nuggets were interested
in Whitmore for this exact reason
so far it looks like their interest is certainly paying off and
that is going to be big to see going forwards
on where the Nuggets are at. I mean, if it's up for
grabs, well, we could look
at the team right now between guys like DeMar DeRozan, Julian Strawther,
Spencer Jones, Marvin Bagley, who are going to be in that rotation.
You then look at Whitmore,
Alpha Diallo, Trayvon Brazil, Deron Holmes,
Brian Nembhard, who obviously a little bit
different because he's a point guard, Lonnie Walker,
these guys who, well, it's up to Whitmore
to beat them out. And I think he absolutely can.
So I do want to hear from you guys. What do you
think about this what earns Whitmore a role
in your guys opinion a defensive positioning b reliable
shooting or c the transition scoring that he's always
been good at let me know in the comments
