Hey, welcome inside our Los Angeles studios alongside Zach
Lowe, Brian Windhorst, Kendrick Perkins, I'm Malika
Anders, the Boston Celtics.
They're up 66-59 at halftime.
Luka Doncic though, 23 points for the Dallas Mavericks here.
But Kendrick Perkins, for some reason, you are unpleased, not
happy with Jason Tatum.
Why is that?
I'm not because, you know, Luka was questionable before this
game and I talked about Jason Tatum making a statement.
Is Luka the one that's making a statement right now in
Jason Tatum's home?
I got a problem with that, you know, and I go back and I always
got to talk about Paul Pearson and the way he used to take
matchups personal.
And right now, I don't see that out of Jason Tatum.
Luka is doing whatever the hell he wants to do, tracking mud
up all on his clean carpet, feet and furniture, and Jason Tatum
got to fight back.
Yeah, Luka was questionable to score 40 because the
Celtics are doing what the Celtics do.
They got four guys in double figures.
They're doubling up the Mavericks on three-point shooting.
They're moving the ball.
They're doing their thing.
And Luka is just like, no, I'm keeping us in this game.
And this is the epitome of why the Celtics are so good and
the epitome of why the Mavericks are so dangerous.
It's what I said about Luka before the game.
You asked me, how can you contain him?
You can't.
This is just, these are some of the best perimeter defenders
in the world and there's nothing they can do.
And by the way, when you got Derek White, Drew Holiday,
Peyton Pritchard, it was like too little, too little, too
little, too little.
Just bullied all of them.
I think Tatum's playing all right.
Sixteen points.
Give it.
It's eleven.
It's eleven points.
Don't try to add five.
It's eleven points.
Check that laptop a bit more.
Oh, it's eleven.
I mixed up Porzingis.
Here's the thing.
You just said, Drew Holiday too small, Derek White too small,
Peyton Pritchard too small.
You know who's not too small?
Jason Tatum.
He guarded him only a few times.
That's the coaches.
No.
As a franchise player, you have to tell the coach sometime,
no, I got him.
I got him.
Don't forget everything we talked about in the film session.
Let me get him.
Let's hold, let's hold second half.
They are up seven.
Yeah, but they supposed to be up 17.
It does feel like the Dallas Mavericks should feel good that
despite some ups and downs, Kyrie Irving getting booed literally
every time he touches the ball in another return to Boston
that they're only down by seven points in this one.
Yeah, and I think the Celtics can really, you know, maybe
scheme a little bit, maybe take a little risk or two and
try to make another person beat him.
That sometimes doesn't work because the Mavericks have stopped
set up their team to have a three-point shooting on the
backside, but I wouldn't want Lucas scoring 50 on me in my
building.
