The Hard Way | Traditional Homemaking in a Modern World
Jul 15, 2026
The hard way isn't the hard way because it's difficult. It's the hard way because it asks something of you.
In a world that keeps offering faster, easier, more convenient, I want to talk about why we still choose to do things slowly, by hand, on purpose. This is a quiet day in our cottage kitchen, arranging flowers from the garden, baking a batch of biscuits from scratch, with a walk through the village woven through it all. But underneath the doing, it's really about why traditional homemaking still matters, even when nobody's asking us to choose it anymore.
If you've ever felt like slowing down was somehow a step backwards, I hope this changes your mind a little.
