THE INBETWEENERS AT COMIC CON! (PLUS ANOTHER TV DISASTER!)
I'm in Liverpool. What have we got going on here?
It's another day. It's another TV replacement.
It's not my fault. I'm gonna do a play. I'm in Liverpool. It's Friday evening. Tomorrow
I'm heading to the Liverpool Comic Con... Comic... Comic Con... Comic Con... Comic Con
Convention. Should be really fun. Nice room. Looked after me, to be fair. They've looked after
me. It's all right. Here's a toilet. Nice to have a separate toilet to where, you know, because I'm
gonna stink that out later. Don't you worry. And a bath and shower here. The one thing I want to
So, wardrobes. Let's have a look. Look at that. Proper coat hangers. Look, proper coat hangers.
They trust me with their coat hangers. I haven't got the little anti-theft coat hangers, which is
great because I'm gonna nick them later. But yeah, this is gonna be me for the evening. I've got a
big TV here. I've got a bed here. Get someone to deliver me some KFC and I'm just gonna have a
Um, yeah, tomorrow will be exciting. I'll see you there. All right, we're here. Comic Con.
It's just, uh, we're just getting started. Some people dripping in. Hello. This is really
interesting. Look at this. What have we got going on here? Some Star Wars stuff. Star Wars stuff.
There's lots of things that I don't quite know either because I'm not... Oh, I think this is
Game of Thrones. Not seen Game of Thrones. Don't hate me. Not seen Game of Thrones. Sorry,
I think I'm the only person on the planet that's not seen Game of Thrones. I'm really sorry.
Blake is a big Game of Thrones fan. He was always banging on about Game of Thrones.
This is it. This is where we're going to be spending the day and I really hope that people
come and see me and ask for an autograph, ask for a picture and things like that because that's why
I'm here. My big fear is that no one's going to want a picture with me. I'm going to feel
embarrassed. But I like these sort of things. I've been to a video game convention before
and the type of people who go to these sort of things are just really excited, lovely, happy
people. I like it. I'm into it. Can I get a photo for social media? Yeah, sure. Thank you.
Also, our stepdad's a massive fan and he wanted us to get a video. Is that okay? What's your
stepdad's name? Jay. Having fun at the convention. Just want to get these guys to wave and say
hello. We're having a whale of a time. Happy Sunday. It's Sunday. I'm back home. Did you miss
me? You didn't notice, did you? Comic Con was good. Nice to meet you all, whoever was there.
I really enjoyed myself. It was really... Was there people there that watched the vlog? Loads
of people. Was there? Yeah, loads of people saying, oh, I really loved the vlog and stuff.
It was great. Really good. Yeah, I had a brilliant time. Might do one again one day.
You seeing this? Yeah. It's cool, isn't it? Anyway, we find ourselves in a rather similar
situation to what we've been in before. It's another day. It's another TV replacement.
What's happening is, is that... It's just that time. It's... Because we bought all the TVs at
the same time. We moved from a two bedroom flat to a house. And you got very excited and every
room had a telly. No, but well anyway, there's... So I bought a load of tellies at the same time
and now they're all breaking at the same time. This is the kid's playroom. It's the kid's
playroom. And they've not had a TV for a couple of weeks now. I know, but I've got a replacement.
They're going feral. We need to hurry up and get a telly up. I've got a replacement TV. The only
problem is, in the last decade or so, I think they've changed the sizes of... Yeah, it's really
dusty back there. I think they've changed the sizes of like your standard TV sizes. So I can't
get this size television. This one's slightly smaller. Oh, well that's going to look rubbish.
It's the best I could do. I couldn't get bigger, obviously.
Is this definitely unfixable? It doesn't work.
But have you tried all the stuff? Have you unplugged everything?
Yeah, I've done all that. Believe me, I didn't just go and buy a television.
Right, well let's go, hurry up, because I've got school washing today and ironing and...
Right, so...
Shall I get ready to catch stuff then? Geez.
Yeah, a little bit. This one isn't as simple to work out how to take it off and on.
Great.
I need a screwdriver, not a socket. I spent ages looking for the right...
Going for a socket set, but it doesn't matter.
And I mean, what are the chances that this new TV is going to fit this bracket?
Well, that's the thing.
I chained up the f***ing thing.
Who? What?
Whoever put this television up, just knackered the f***ing screws at the back here.
Oh, he's going to have a time.
That's him?
Well, they're all like it. Hope you're ready.
For what?
I don't know, if this TV suddenly falls down.
All right.
Right, it's going to come down. This side's going to come down.
Okay, I got it.
Oh no, it's not. That's completely f***ed, that screw.
Let me see.
What one?
F***ing get people to do stuff for you.
They don't give a f*** it, do they? Because it's not their own home,
they just f***ing do whatever they want. Take your money and f*** off.
Up there.
Just chewed up. They've just done it with an electric drill.
And just chewed up all the...
Do you want to stand on it?
James! James!
Yeah?
I'm in brace position. I'm braced.
Can you brace yourself?
I've got to contact the anticipation.
You done it? Is that it?
Got it?
Yeah.
Don't put it against the couch, it's dusty.
Look how dusty it is.
Oh dear. Trusty old knife.
Now, only a mum would think like that.
Look at the dad spending ages looking for the right screwdriver.
Jeez.
Wowza!
These are still up to Harrison's fault, he doesn't want to take them down.
Smithers! Smithers!
You happy with that?
Yeah, it's quite hidden.
Ow.
You start rehearsals tomorrow?
Start rehearsals tomorrow.
I've got 222 ghost stories.
Is it the West End? Is that what it is?
Yeah, it's the West End, probably.
Ooh, what is in it?
What the hell am I?
Ooh, there's the plus button.
There's five of them.
Sinister.
I thought you'd get it at Holmes.
There's also an Amazon Netflix button as well, mate.
And YouTube.
Not that there's anything wrong with it.
On the YouTube.
Ooh, so that's an iPad.
Huh?
That's an iPad.
No, television.
Why?
I hope the boys have got their magnifying glasses to watch out.
So this one's too small?
I can't, I don't know why I bought it.
Well, it's too wee for the hole.
It's, the next size up is too big.
I've said that before to you, haven't I?
I know, I wish you'd stop.
It hurts my feelings.
It's too wee for this, that.
Yeah, you said that before as well.
The next size up of television is too big for that.
So this TV now needs to go up.
First things first is these top ones need to go in there.
So when it goes up, you need to take the bolt off,
put the screw in and then put the bolt on around the other side.
The bolts are on at the moment so the screws don't drop out the back.
Okay, put one.
We don't know that yet.
Well, this is different to the last time.
Hold on, if I'm in a hole that doesn't fit near your holes, it's too small.
No, but these are too close together, the things we've just done.
It's too close together.
All right, finding.
So the bracket doesn't fit anymore?
Which is a really big job now.
That's a really big job.
Right, well, what we can do now is put the feet on it and set it there now.
Bracket doesn't fit new television.
New television is too small
because you can't get the same size TVs that you used to be able to get.
And this whole unit was built for this specific size television.
I always thought if I had to replace it,
that I'd be able to replace it with a TV at the same size.
The world's decided I can't do that, so...
Simple as always.
It's not simple, is it?
Everything's just a pain in the arse.
Absolutely everything.
Right, okay, so we're done.
I know, we've got two TVs on the floor now.
A big old dusty one that doesn't work
and a brand new one that doesn't fit.
Huh?
It's not my fault.
What am I doing?
I'm doing some vlogging.
It's Monday morning today.
Monday, Monday.
I've just done the school run.
Claire's cleaning her sink, which is a concept I've never even considered.
Don't say her sink.
I didn't say her sink.
You did, you said Claire's cleaning her sink.
Well, I bought you that sink for Christmas.
I said Claire's cleaning a sink.
A sink?
A sink, yeah.
Not the sink?
Right, you can watch... no.
Yeah, what sink?
A sink.
Okay.
Today is an important day for me.
It's my first day of...
Why are you looking like that?
Just to contrast.
I'm cleaning the sink.
Well, yeah.
We're starting a new sink.
I know, it's an important day for both of us.
Claire's finally got that sink cleaned
and I'm starting work on 222 A Ghost Story,
which will be at the Gilgud Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue.
You're Claire.
S*** existence.
Oh, don't say that.
Oh, I'm only joking.
Love it.
F***ing love cleaning sinks.
But yeah, today is the first day where I turn up to sort of work on this play that I'm doing,
which I'm really excited about.
Incredibly nervous about.
I haven't done work in the West End for over 20 years.
I think it's 23 years.
Was that the first job you had?
Yeah.
Yeah, it was Whistle Down the Wind at the Aldwych Theatre was my first.
But really, really excited.
Really, really nervous.
I can't remember what it's like to do something in front of an audience
with the audience there watching you being in the same room at the same time.
And I still am not 100% sure how I'll handle that.
Might be a complete disaster.
But I feel like that's the sort of stuff that you should do, really.
Sort of do the difficult stuff.
It's the challenging stuff.
The challenge of it, yeah.
But isn't that like the epitome of acting, being on stage rather than...
I think that's for most actors.
I think because you always hear actors going,
oh, I want to challenge myself and I want to do something difficult and da da da da.
Yeah.
And I do want to do that with this.
So I do sort of get it.
But I also became an actor because it's just quite easy.
It's just really easy.
Anyone can do it.
Not for the next few weeks, baby.
That's why I wanted to be an actor.
Because it was like...
Remember, I was fitting kitchens and stuff while I was trying to be an actor.
The whole time I was thinking, oh God, I can't be bothered with this.
Really difficult.
And I keep f***ing up everyone's kitchen.
I might be rubbish at it.
I might be really terrible.
Yeah, boy.
But I am interested to find out.
I've got nothing to lose.
It's not like it's going to ruin my career.
It's not like it's going to be...
It's not like that big blockbuster next year might be affected by it.
Yeah, exactly.
This string of consecutive hits that I've been involved with over the last few years.
So yeah, I'm going to do a play.
Mate, should we put a link in this video?
If people want to buy tickets to come and see me.
Because it'd be nice if people did want to come and see me.
Put a link.
We'll put a link in this video.
And you can book some tickets and you can come and see me and stuff.
But I've not met anyone from the cast yet.
I'm really looking forward to meeting them.
Incredible cast.
Absolutely amazing.
Gotta be honest, I'm hoping that they'll pick up some of the slack.
Hoping I can just be carried by them.
Although we're still vlogging and we're still going to be at home.
And we still love you very, very much.
But we're just going to...
This isn't your fault.
But we are going to be a little bit busier.
I never thought that was going to happen.
You know, James explained earlier, he's doing the play.
Christmas is coming up, so I'm going to be out and about with the boys.
Hopefully you can come to some stuff.
Be nice, yeah.
The same as everybody else right now, we're quite excited about Christmas.
Because obviously last year was a bit of a dud.
James is obviously really busy.
Plus we've got loads of planned family stuff and fun stuff with the kids.
But yeah, it's a little bit busier.
But hopefully it's going to be stuff that you'll enjoy watching.
You'll get to see what James used to do.
More of what should be, you know, the Buckley's life.
The past few years with COVID has been nothing, but...
I'll be taking the camera with me as much as I'm allowed to.
As long as the people are comfortable around me.
So there'll still be vlogs.
We'll still be vlogging every week.
And obviously the channel is going to be a year old.
So we'll have to do something for that.
It will just be us and other channels a year old.
But we'll recognise it.
The first vlog, the first Wednesday in December is the 1st of December.
So we'll have to decorate a few days before that.
To get it on the vlog and get it up on the 1st of December for you guys.
So lots to look forward to.
But yeah, felt like mum and dad just had to have a little sit down.
Just let you know that we are going to be a bit busier.
It won't just be sitting here drinking Stella.
We'll still squeeze that in, don't worry.
But it should be quite exciting.
Should be quite interesting to watch.
Thing is, there's a good chance that vlog wise,
it will just be us drinking Stella still.
It might be.
Because that's what I'm going to be doing on the days off.
Oh my god, I need to show you what James got me from Comic Con.
There was one person there that...
Man, I wish I had got to go.
But James went and got him to sign something for me.
I was buzzing.
James.
Oh, Tommy!
I love Tommy Flanagan.
Too clear.
Love.
Did you say love?
It says stick it up your a**.
I got one as well.
It says to James, stick yours up your a**.
Yeah, we do.
We love Sons of Anarchy, don't we?
For me though, I think his performance in Gladiator is absolutely brilliant.
I love him in Gladiator.
He's such a great character.
But fantastic actor.
Yeah.
Braveheart.
Yeah.
He wasn't really in that, but he was in it.
Well, you've got to...
You've got to round them all up as many...
There's only...
There's only a couple of them out there.
You've got them all in.
He should have been Wallace.
I think the bloke's from Steel Gamer in it as well.
Jack and...
What's the other guy?
Jack and Victor in the background.
Slipping over in the ice.
No, it was a brilliant weekend.
I absolutely loved it.
But didn't get to film a lot because I was just quite busy, which, you know...
It's good.
Bad for the vlog, but just good for me.
Yeah.
Which is the most important thing.
Exactly.
If nobody had come to your wee table...
I would have been sat there just chatting away.
But listen, thank you so much for watching.
We will be back next week.
Don't you worry about that.
Not sure, as we said, not sure how the vlogs will look exactly over the next couple of months.
I think they'll look good.
They'll look exciting.
It's the lead up to Christmas.
It'll all be go and exciting.
But we'll still find time to sit here and catch up and chill out and have a beer with you.
So yeah, we'll see you all again next week.
Stay scummy.
Make sure you give us a like.
Even if you didn't like it, it doesn't matter.
Just give us a like.
That'd be nice.
Subscribe if you haven't.
Turn on your notifications.
And stay scummy.
Say bye, Claire.
Bye, Claire.
Jacky, bye!
