Beer, BBQ & Board Games
I can't wait for summer.
It's on fire!
Just sit like this, yeah.
It's Friday morning.
Friday morning, Friday the 26th?
Yes, setting up for the kids' homeschooling.
Probably going to barbecue.
Today?
Not today, but at some point.
Now you sort of take charge on a Friday, don't you?
And I try and get some washing and stuff done.
Yeah.
That I need to catch up on.
I don't mind taking charge on Friday because Jude has PE.
Well, it's not PE, it's drama.
Oh, is it drama on Saturdays?
Yeah.
It's usually like he has to learn a dance.
Yeah.
So I'll come out with that.
Looking forward to that later.
That's where you're really excelling at.
That's where I shine.
But, but there's no full socks.
Well, you should have put a full stock.
He never told me to.
Wait a minute!
Oh, for f**k!
Why are you polishing your barbecue?
You loser!
I wasn't going to vlog this.
Has she got a name?
I call it Claire 1.
Not even, so I'm 2?
You're Claire 2.
Well, because you know I did chicken wings a couple of days ago.
Yeah, no, I actually don't care.
I just wanted to scare you.
See you later.
Bye.
What I'm going to do is baste the steak with it.
Really get some of that flavour right back on top.
Keep it moist.
Good.
Doing my research.
It's over the hot area still.
If anyone's interested, this is Malcolm Reed, How to Barbecue Right.
This is the best barbecue YouTube channel.
I'm going to cook a tomahawk tomorrow.
I'm just working out.
I just want to know what he cooks up to, the internal temperature and stuff like that.
He is excited, isn't he?
I'm very excited.
Delicious.
And this time, I'm going to put a probe into it and have my little orange thing that I use to keep an eye on the internal temperature of my meat.
Oh, so you're going to cook this one?
Yeah, I'm going to cook this one.
That's a good idea.
Yeah.
Ah, here we go.
One of my favourite days of the week.
You sounded like the SpongeBob guy there.
Two hours later.
I go and have a shower.
Look at all the food that turns up.
Happy days.
Oh, we've got to clean this freezer out.
No, we don't need to clean the freezer out.
It's got precious frozen meat in there that I'm going to use in the summer, Claire, if you give me a chance.
There's no room for normal stuff.
Just trying to think of a rude joke about meatballs, but I can't be bothered.
Have you ever had a whole bottle of red wine to yourself in one day, in one evening?
No.
See, I have, Claire.
I know you have, I remember.
In fact, I remember the day where I had my first bottle of red wine onto myself.
It was your birthday.
And you were pregnant.
Yeah.
And you couldn't drink.
Yeah.
But it was fun to watch you get disgustingly drunk and talk s***.
Oh, James.
This just isn't going to shut.
Well.
I mean, what the hell is this?
It's the ribs.
For the love of God.
You don't run a butcher's, James.
We don't have the storage for this.
Because you've never let me follow my dreams.
James, you've got to...
I tell you what, you need a little...
You need a little freezer out in the garage.
I'll get one.
You're ruining shopping day.
I can't get these in.
Well, we'll have to eat them now.
Whatever we can't get in, we'll just have to eat right now.
These are good, aren't they?
What?
These sweet chilli pork loin steaks.
Yeah, those are nice.
We had them the other week, didn't we?
Yeah, I think it was last week, wasn't it?
Yeah.
Right, so I'm not doing potatoes today, then.
I'm going to do...
Okay, yeah.
Lattice fries.
They're waffle fries.
Oh, waffle fries.
I think it says lattice on it.
It does say lattice on it, but they're right.
They're wrong, I mean.
You're going to just start passing me fridge stuff?
Fridge stuff? You've got it, baby.
Fridge stuff.
Not fridge stuff.
Fridge stuff.
Right, well, that meat.
Yeah, I'm getting to...
Listen.
I don't tell you how to do your job,
you don't tell me how to do mine, okay?
Right, that can go.
Oh, that's been open for about two weeks.
Right, is that all the fridge stuff?
Probably not.
Fridge stuff.
That's my washing ready.
Yeah, Hawkers, you still owe me a packet of Wotsits.
You gave me an empty pack.
Yeah, it's not even as if there was one missing.
Yeah.
Cheap to give us an empty one.
I know.
Right, so what is the plan for this fine Saturday?
I'll tell you what the plan is today.
Right, I don't think it's super...
Warm.
But...
But it's lovely and sunny and clear.
And there's a blue sky.
For the love of God!
Start again!
No, there's a blue sky.
And I'm going to get the cushions out
for the outdoor sofa thing.
Okay.
And we're going to sit outside.
Maybe put a...
I'm going to put a jumper on.
Yeah, I'll put a jumper on.
I'm going to light the fire as well.
Ooh, a little fire pit.
We can just sit by the fire
in the lovely sunny day
and we could...
I think we'll finish those 20 volts.
I'm in the mood, to be honest.
The kids will like that.
Oh, sh**, I forgot about the kids.
Would you stop?
Such an a**hole.
I'm looking forward to a really relaxing day.
I've got my tomahawk steak ready to go
that I got yesterday.
Play tennis for that?
Yeah, you could.
I mean, we try and be real vloggers.
Sure.
You know, we try and secure a little
sponsor
for each video
because these take a lot of work
editing and filming them
and stuff like that.
We're not asking anything from you.
Just let us say
go and check out this company
for 30 seconds in a video.
Unless we like it though as well.
Oh yeah.
You know, we're not going to advertise
something that we don't like
or use.
Yeah.
Exactly.
I mean, all we've advertised so far
is beer and meat.
Exactly.
And I think we're pretty much
covered on that.
Yeah, we'll only advertise stuff
that we like to use.
We've got sponsorship with
the Big B**** Company
coming up next week.
That's what they're called.
The Big B**** Company.
It's not Claire that's a fan
of those products.
Do you remember how we were talking
about families watching?
Oh yeah.
I've done it again, Jemmy.
Oh yeah.
My classic.
This is brilliant.
So Claire's got this thing
and she's done it for years.
Years and years and years.
And I've never landed.
Claire's one of those people
that sees like an armchair
or something on eBay
and it's going for £2.99
and she goes,
F***ing hell.
What a bargain.
And then she buys it
and it turns out it's for a dollhouse.
I did do that with our lampshade one.
You did, yeah.
It's like that.
Yeah.
You thought it was going to be
a big lampshade
but it wasn't.
Anyway, I've done that again
with wraps.
No, not just wraps.
And paper armies.
I mean, it's done me favours
over the years,
to be honest.
She thinks that things
are much bigger than
what they actually are.
It still doesn't help
with the disappointment
when you realise
that it's tiny.
One meal to me, I think.
Oh, smell that.
Yeah.
Yeah, alright.
I don't think Jemmy
really wants to be serious.
Oh my God.
I've said it,
he doesn't trust me.
It's nice, yeah.
I wasn't going to squirt
bloody fairy liquid
up your nose.
It's the type of thing you do.
Why are these open?
Oh, somebody's been...
No, I'm not going to do it again.
Only an idiot
would do it again.
What do you think?
Should I do that?
Should I keep the fruits
all in different colours?
Yeah, I like that.
Or should I mix them?
I usually mix them.
I'm really pleased with that.
I'm bored.
Do you want me to do
some like
chip and dips first?
If you want.
Yeah, if you want to.
Oh yeah, I brought you
a little thing out
that the boys bought you.
When did they get me this?
Is it Father's Day or something?
No, I think it was...
That's official.
James Barbecue King
Speciality
Succulent Steaks
and Hot Wings.
Right, are we done?
Yeah.
Pretty tidy, isn't it?
What's the matter with you?
It's cold.
I just spat everywhere.
Oh, it is just a bit cold.
I know you're trying to
summon spring but
this is a good angle.
Whoa, Jude.
I can't wait for summer.
That
made me jump.
Oh, the big bit of wood
just fell.
It's smoking.
Jesus.
How much was that
little fire pit?
About 50, 60 quid.
Because we want to get
a proper one, don't we?
I don't even think it was that.
Didn't I buy that?
No, I bought that
from the incubator.
By the way, also
just because
Paisley's in her pen
because we've lit the fire
and
she will just run into it
or something.
You just can't trust her, yeah.
It's just too dangerous.
It's not worth the risk.
Who you talking to?
You want to fight?
He's smack-talking, yo.
That's what he just said.
I don't think the microphone
would have picked that up.
But Jude just turned to us
and said
I'm smack-talking, yo.
And then we got the other one
who just
he doesn't let me get away
with anything, does he?
You know what?
What?
He loves saying that to you.
Just moonied me.
Turn that off.
The camera?
Yeah.
Do you think I'm in the fire?
Yeah.
I thought
I had to turn the fire off.
We've got a very nice
piece of meat here, Claire.
I'll be damned
if I'm going to ruin this one.
I mean, I hope not.
I feel like I've not eaten.
I know, sorry.
I'm going to give it
a very
basic
seasoning.
I'm going to use this stuff here.
It's from Angus & Oink again.
I'm always using
Angus & Oink these days.
This is just their
garlic and herb rub.
I'm going to use
a little bit of olive oil
as a binder.
And I'm going to let it
sit here for
about an hour or so.
OK.
As soon as I work it out.
There you go.
That's good, Claire.
We can all agree
that so far
the steak has not been ruined.
It's what you usually
put on a steak, Claire.
You know what you
usually put on a steak.
What do you usually
put on a steak?
Very basic rub for a steak.
Salt, pepper, garlic.
That's what this basically is.
Don't rub
pat
because you'll rub it off.
This bit looks a bit bare.
Yeah, I reckon.
I'm just going to
leave that for an hour or so.
I tell you what I am
going to do right now
is I'm going to
get my
little probe
for my
temperature thing
and put that in now
so that I know it's set up.
It's right where
I want it to be
and
the steak won't
be undercooked.
I want my probe
to be right there
right in the middle.
I think that'll be a good spot.
It's right where I want it.
Alright.
A little update for you.
This has been sitting here
for about
about 50 minutes now.
So it's got like
50 or 15?
50.
5-0.
The salt in that rub
has
drawn out some moisture.
It's got a little bit tacky.
But Claire's encouraged me
to be a bit more ambitious
so now I'm going to
put another rub on it.
Again, this is from
Angus & Oink.
I didn't realise
but all my rubs
are from Angus & Oink.
I thought
Meat Colab
was a different
company to
Angus & Oink
but it's all Angus & Oink.
This is Dirty Cow.
This is
a really good one
for beef obviously.
Yeah.
A little bit of heat.
A little bit of
yeah but it's just seasoning.
This is flavour.
Go on, get it on.
Alright.
We'll do it.
We'll go for it.
I'm not going to go too crazy.
Alright.
It's time to get this baby
on the barbecue.
This is my set up.
Basically
the key to barbecuing is
indirect heat.
You know
as soon as you learn that
you realise
not everything has to be
burnt to a crisp
and you just put it
you know
you just burn everything.
Just have it off the coals
and let the coals
do the work.
I love stuff
burnt to a crisp though.
There's nothing better
than a really crispy
burnt sausage.
No, you're wrong.
I know you don't like that
but I do.
Stick that in there
and we leave it
for however long
it takes.
I've got my thing here.
Right, I'm going to plug this in.
What do I want to plug it in?
I want to plug it in number one
don't I?
It's been a while since I've used this
hasn't it?
That's when it's summer
for me
personally.
Bit early
February.
I know, yeah.
I've got one of my probes in.
Anyone that's a keen
barbecue will know
that you have one probe
in the meat
and one
having a true temperature
of what the
barbecue
heat is making.
But I don't need that.
I just need to know
what the internal temperature
is of the meat.
So I've only got one probe in
and as soon as that hits
125
then I'm going to
sear it
and then we're good to go.
Right.
Here we go.
Prepared.
I didn't get...
Not prepared Claire.
You've been on the phone.
I know, I'm panicking now.
Again,
if anyone's interested
I've got these.
These are cotton gloves.
You can wear them
you can wash them
you can use them again.
They're called...
Yep, gloves.
Wear them, wash them, use them.
Yep.
No, but they're called hand savers
and I had to get these
from America.
Put some rubber gloves
over the top of them
it's just much more easier
than using tongs.
You better hurry up
I know, yeah, I know.
You're going to get to see
James running there
which is hilarious.
Go on.
Come on, let's go.
Whoa.
Wow, it's looking quite good
isn't it?
Right, now
let me take this
let me take this probe out.
Yeah, that is still hot
even with the gloves on.
So don't import things
from America then.
It's not worth it.
Here we go.
Bop.
Hey Siri
set timer for one minute.
Is that uncovered?
Yeah, that's fine there.
I'm going to leave that
for a minute
because the coals
are very close.
Too close?
Yeah, I might actually
just give that 30 seconds
that's going to flare up
Claire, by the way
so you might want to
stay back a bit.
Yeah, no, look
that is charred.
That was a minute.
You're just one extreme
to the next, aren't you?
Hey, it's either
cooked or not cooked.
Right, that'll do us.
Now listen
this might be slightly
overdone
but I think that's
better than underdone.
It does.
I'm going to cut away
from this
from the bone.
That's pretty good, isn't it?
Yeah, that's good for me.
It's not actually me.
We've got a camera man.
Oh yeah.
A camera man
that sounds like
a nine year old.
Where did we get him from?
No, I'm the one talking
not the camera man.
He stays quiet.
Oh, okay.
Right, right, right.
I got you.
Yeah.
I mean, he isn't the best.
He's a bit shaky.
That's it all
carved up there.
I've got to be honest
there is still
some pink going on
so I haven't overcooked this
but I had cooked it
which is
a success.
Yeah, that's got some
good flavours, isn't it?
Trust me.
No, pleased with that one.
Yeah.
And do you know what?
That one was good
but the next one
will be even better
because it always is.
Happy barbecuing.
Harrison, bless him
like a good boy
tidied his playroom
and he wants us all
to come in here
for game night
so we thought we would
bring you along.
So this is the kids' playroom.
Harrison set out
all of the board games
that he wants to play tonight.
I don't know
if we'll get through
all of these but
we're going to set up
we're going to have
a little family games night.
Yay.
Look at these bits.
Boys were just
looking at my shirt.
What does that say?
I'm the DJ.
So how does that go?
How does the song go?
Oh, I've got sand in my teeth.
Oh, Harrison's
helping you out there.
It's gone.
Is it all over?
No, it's just here.
Right, so is it focused?
It's focused.
Look at the rules.
You need to pull it,
stack it and then
crash it.
Those are the rules.
Seems easy enough.
Right, how does this go?
Hang the DJ.
Yeah, good.
Alright, let us know
in the comments
the Smiths yay or nay.
It's going to be yay.
He's yay.
Obviously.
Yay.
I'm nay, no.
Right, I just, yay.
Boring.
They're such a good band.
I know.
Right, youngest goes first.
Go for it, Judd.
Perfect.
Right, well done, Judd.
Excellent.
Right, Harrison,
you're next.
He's the second youngest.
Second youngest,
then it's me,
then it's mum.
He washes.
You're getting it wrong.
By the way,
dad is so ticklish.
Yeah, I'm quite ticklish.
We tickled him
and he was going,
and that is true.
Just sit like this, yeah.
That was it.
Right, it's your turn.
Oldest of the bunch.
Alright, here we go.
Oldest of the bunch.
Would you stop?
Hey, I did that.
You know it started
taking away the,
oh my God,
Harrison.
Well, you're going to
just ruin the game.
Jack it.
Jack it out.
I mean, I don't know
where to put this.
I'm going to go for this one.
You're going for an outside one.
Tootsie.
You check for the weak ones
first, didn't you?
You check for the ones
that just slip out.
Right, Judd.
No.
I nearly kicked your foot.
Well.
Right, that's silly.
That's silly.
That's really silly.
You know what?
You're never going.
Oh my God.
Jesus.
Wow, Dad wasn't kidding.
You've twisted it.
You know what?
Would you relax?
I just,
I don't know what's going on here.
Look, see,
I find a little weak one
that's ready to come out.
Right, Judd's going to.
I pull it out
and there you go.
You've twisted it.
Oh, shut up.
It's your problem now, Harrison.
It's your,
it's your problem now.
Oh God.
Easy.
He took the bottom one.
You're not allowed
to use two hands, are you?
No.
That's insane.
What is wrong with you?
Oh, Claire.
And I'll see you after the break.
Now.
Now hear from our sponsor.
It's that time of the month, Claire.
Not that time of the month.
Beer 52.
My Beer 52 package has arrived.
Let's have a little look
at what we've got this month.
Little assortment of
little craft beers
and stuff like that.
It's a little subscription.
It's a monthly subscription thing.
They send you
different beers every month.
And what's really nice
about Beer 52
is that they're also sponsoring
this video.
So thank you, Beer 52.
The combination of two
of my favourite things, Claire.
Beer and money.
But the good news is
it's not all about us
and us profiting
from, you know,
getting into bed
with Beer 52.
You guys can
profit as well
because there's going
to be a link
in our description
down below.
And if you sign up
for Beer 52
you'll get your first
order absolutely free.
All you have to do
is pay for the postage
and packaging.
How about that?
Do you want some free beer?
Sure.
You're welcome.
Enjoy it.
Oh, some Tiny Rebel.
There's some Tiny Rebel
as well.
And I think I've got
another package coming
from Tiny Rebel soon
from a friend of ours
who's done a collaboration
with them
which is quite exciting.
But it comes every month.
They find beers
and, you know,
IPAs and things like that
from all over the world
and they make
a little assortment
and you'll discover
one that you really,
really like
and, you know,
order a load of just that
if you want.
But it's a great way
to sort of drink beer.
Beer 52.
A great way
to drink beer.
Well done.
You're getting
really good at this, James.
Thank you.
You're getting really good at it.
Meow.
Just waiting for Mum
to come back from the toilet.
And that flush tells me
that she'll be back
any second now.
Do not...
Do not look
at your top card.
Because that is cheating.
Do not...
Okay, I'm sorry.
Do not...
Right.
One,
two,
three,
go.
Daisy.
Clown.
Sun.
Exclamation mark.
Dragon.
Dang it.
Dragon.
Lightning bolt.
Lips.
Lion.
Igloo.
Eggshell.
Baby bowl.
Cheese.
Snowflake.
Turtle.
Ah, falling apart there.
Maple leaf.
Picklock.
Eyeball.
Moon.
I farted.
I let a little fart out.
Sorry.
Cheese.
Moon made me fart.
Clown.
Zebra.
No, I don't have an eye.
No, you don't have an eye.
I don't have an eye.
I had an eye on the last one.
Moon.
Lightbulb.
Dude, come on.
It's still me and you.
I'm still struggling here.
Bomb.
Lion.
Yes.
Come on, Jack.
If you really want to beat Dad at a game,
you've got to play some Operation.
Um, hello.
This is, um,
Kermit the Frog here,
and, um,
I just want to say
thank you for
100,000 subscribers.
That's good, Dad.
That, uh, youngest goes first.
You know, as soon as you touch it...
Keep going.
He's not having too bad.
Ah, wait.
You're out.
Wait, wait.
I just imagined you being a doctor.
It would be, like, funny.
What do you fancy?
I'm going to take a risk here.
Mm-hmm.
I'm definitely not going for the horse.
Okay, go on.
How much does the butterfly...
500.
How much does the butterfly...
Yeah, it's 500.
500 for the butterfly.
He's going, he's going.
500 up for grabs.
Oh, he pulled it out!
He dropped back in again!
Yay!
Right, Mum's turn.
What are you going for, Claire?
I just want the bread basket.
Right, I'm going to go for the bread.
Can I be honest?
I don't think you were allowed to lean on the board.
I don't...
All right, fine, I'll put it back.
No!
I don't lean on the board.
You are allowed to do that.
All right, you want me to set up?
Okay.
Right, I'm going to go for the bucket.
500 for the bucket.
Oh, what?
I don't think you're supposed to lean on the board.
Oh, jeez!
I didn't even touch it!
I thought you were nearly dead!
Heart's the hardest.
You're going for the heart?
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Hey, Mum, can I have a snack?
Yeah.
Right.
Is he dead already?
Well, we...
Yeah, I can't...
Oh, wait, no!
I don't know if he did or not.
I did.
Right, you're out.
What?
You're out.
Oh, you're out!
I'm out?
You're out!
Wait, shh, shh, shh.
Shut up.
Harrison!
Harrison, that stinks!
That does smell bad.
I know, you can't...
Comment down below what you think that smells like.
Yeah, he's dead too.
All right, Dad did it.
His first one.
We'll turn off the camera now.
