Do you think schools should start later?
Hello everyone and welcome to my channel. Today I want to talk about the motion, the topic,
about schools should start later. Okay so now I'm gonna start with the first speaker of the
affirmative side. I'll start in three two one. Good day to judges and fellow debaters. My name
is Jenny and I'm the first speaker of the affirmative team for the motion. School should
start later. We're on the affirmative side so we strongly agree with this motion. So now I would
like to introduce my team members. My team has the first speaker which is me. I'll set the
foundation for the team's case and responsible for introducing the motions, defining the key terms,
and outlining the team's arguments. Our second speaker plays a crucial role
in rebutting the opposing team's arguments and further developing their own team case.
And our last speaker, our third speaker, will summarize all of our team ideas and rebut the
others team points but does not introduce new arguments. They focus on reinforcing their team's
case. Now let's go into my ideas. So firstly with school starting later we can have more physical
health. Students with later school start times are more likely to improve physical health and
weight control, decreasing their likelihood of developing diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure,
and by sleeping at night, students' bodies have enough time to repair and heal at night.
For example, if school just started later, students can sleep and repair injuries or diseases.
That will make students feel happy of their sick disease. And secondly, it will increase sleeping
time which is important. Students will have more time to sleep and repair. Later school start times
have support the biological needs of adults. They increase the amount of sleep adults get.
Other benefits of later time include improvement attendance at school, decreased harmness. For
instance, if school starts later, they can have more time to sleep and that will make adults make
us focus in class. And lastly, we can have better academic performance. Students and studies have
shown a correlation between later school start times and improved grades, particularly in core
subjects. Students who are arrested are better equipped in learning and maintaining information,
participating and actively in class. For example, my school starts really early, like 6.30
a.m. And that makes our class really tired. Sometimes we aren't in class and can't perform
well and most likely good. In conclusion, I just have proven three of my points that school
should start later. Dear judges and debaters, I've spoken and I yield my time. Thank you.
Okay everyone, so now that I'm done my speech, I would like to conclude
that I'm also done with my video for today and see you guys next time. Goodbye!
